    Maize chopping in kericho my home area is a " come let's see what this crazy guy is doing " when I graduated I decided to venture into dairy farming am telling you even my dad was against maize planting and chopping to make silage but 6 years later guess what shamba yote aliniachia akaauza ngombe yake yote went for a loan for me now I get farmers around my area visiting my dairy farm for benchmarking and learning my advice to any parent out there the biggest gift to your child is supporting their wild dreams

What is the probable problem

    • @dairynetworks

      Most likely poor calf management i.e first 4 months and poor feeding post weaning

    How is it possible to keep your silage uncovered?

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  11 месяцев назад

      Long term it is not. You need to ensure it’s air tight. Here he is clear they can leave it overnight if they are yet to finish Ensiling which they will do the next day and cover effectively

    If that silage remains uncovered can it get damaged

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  Год назад +1

      Definitely it will get Damaged. The principles of silage making are that it should be covered and airtight to avoid rotting and aid fermentation. Uncovered it’s left exposed to natural elements therefore will rot
