What kind of strumming is everyone doing? The one recommended doesn't seem like enough. I am not a great singer and this one actually has enough chords to carry the melody. So would like to strum more. I am a beginner-ish. Not picking yet. TIA for any other strumming pattern suggestions.
I know you asked a few months ago, but have you been through the Matt Stead courses? He's amazing. In the Intermediate Ukulele 13 - Tricky Time Signatures video, he does an amazing tutorial for this song and has a free PDF printable for it with strumming patterns. To try to summarize it (poorly), he uses a 3/4 time signature and does "straight eights" which is D-D-D until he gets to "Now the only thing a gambler needs," where he changes to D-DU-DU until going back to D-D-D at "Well I've got one foot on the platform" until the end. Personally, I also prefer to use my fingernail to strum the first D of each and my thumb to strum the rest of the chord, for a little extra dynamics. Hope this made sense and helps!
@@pcpmendonca yes we all know that BUT this is designed for all the ukulele players out there like me . not everyone can play the guitar. i am one of those guys who are not so good at playing the guitar but who are better at playing the ukulele. like me. so no you are WRONG this is aimed at all the UKULELE players out there who want to play this song on their accoustic or electric soprano, concert, or baritone ukuele ! DONT' be ARROGANT please ! if you want your guitar carry on bugger off and go to a guitar tutorial video then ! this is for UKULELE PLAYERS ! you TURKEY
