This helps. I just got my dog he has a lot of bad habits the Previous owner never addressed. They didn’t even teach him simple commands like sit stay or come this helps so much thank you
THANK YOU!! I have been trying to find a video on how to train my bulldog and all of them just show their dogs doing the commands. Thanks for taking the time to show how it's actually done. Please make more.
Perfect video...I've just recently started my 16 month old female bully on this type of training...we just started this past saturday and she already is working off leash with come, sit, heal, and right...im working on down...she is a pocket, so i have to find a box or chair to work her on...if anyone reads these comments this type og training is perfect and works...i fully trained a doberman from 8 weeks to 7 months with this training...great work bullybadass
This is a good one! He shows HOW to train & not just the dog performing the command. We've used for 60 years Wm Koehler's Method of Guard Dog Training, just the obedience section. He does NOT use treats, nor have I. But at 82 with a Boerboel pup, I'm using treats. But the pup is a "narural" & smart as a whip. Almost came at 8 weeks pre-trained.
I thought it was great, and learned new areas where I need to train my puppy. Thank you for the video. I bet when the dog has his police garb on he is much different. It’s nice the dog is a real dog.
the entire concept is "stay" is the problem. Using a word or command for "stay" prolongs the success of teaching the command. Instead, we simply teach the dog that when you say "sit", they sit until they are released and when you say "down", they lay down until released. Adding another command such as "stay" is 100% unnecessary and causes the average pet owner (and their dog) some frustration and confusion especially down the road as the training advances.
Practice and give him a correction (little jerk on the leash, NO!, etc) when he doesn’t listen the first time. You’ll have to get strict with a correction every time they don’t listen the first time.
these training vids kill me. they all use trained dogs. use the savage at the end of my leash. I am trying everything he is bending the prongs on the collar. No give in this animal...
Start without the leash just to get the dog comfortable with you by making it a game. You want to fool them into thinking they're making the calls themselves by cutting the distractions and options. It takes time and patience.
Lon Rolvos Have you tried running your dog and getting it tired first? I've had many bulls and high energy dogs and it is hard to train if they have soooo much energy.. They won't listen, they get into things and unruly.. First, burn some energy first, then train.. You'll definitely see a huge difference then..
I have a pit bull husky mix. He’s 9 months old he won’t do anything I say. Even letting him in the back yard that is fenced in he won’t come back in when he’s called. He stands there in a position that looks like he’s gonna attack I finally give up calling him with him just hunched down looking at me like he’s invisible to me or something lol then I turn to go back in and he knocks me down going in before I can even get the door all the way open. It’s like having one them bad ass teenage kids lol
My chihuahuas are 12 1/2 years old, and I have been able to teach them sit, wave, and thank you(kissing me). Never to late to teach and old dog new tricks!
My Pitt puppy Diesel is 9 weeks old. He has already mastered walking on the leash with no pulling. Potty training is going 50/50. He's got a bed and he will go lay down in his bed when we tell him too. He will stay and sit just fine but the only issue is he hasn't fully grasped the come command yet.
Yea... until the human they love feels threatened! Then that sweet loving ready to give kisses pit is ready to turn rabid, hateful and eat your heart out! lol
My dog is a grown pitbull and is untrained, how long will it take him to understand how to sit? I'll try whatever it takes... He doesn't like dried dog food and loves lots of meat
I feed my dog raw food too. he learned to sit when he was fed. I would grab his bowl with food and put it over his head. I pushed his bottom down so he knew this is the position I wanted him in. then I would slowly move the food down and if he got up I would say "no" and lift the food back up and start again. didn't take, long just practice. make sure you stay positive and repeat the comand when you push his bottom down so he know what "sit" is.
My 12 wk old pitbull pup just learned sit..I went to Pet Smart and bought a bag of chicken liver treats.. They sell small, medium and large treats..They are kibbles but softer than regular dog food and both my pups love it.. I just pushed her bum down and when she sits nice and still in sit position I gave her a treat..Make sure to only give the treat if her bum is on the ground!! If you want to teach him lay down then pull the treat forward near the ground when they are sitting nice..move the treat real low until they basically have to lay to reach it..My pup learned sit fast but I had to push her bum down a few times at first..I hold at least 3 treats in my hand and make her do 3 sits in a row each time...Only took 3 days to teach her..Now whenever she is roughhousing with my chihuahua I just say sit and down her bum goes :) My pit puppy is smarter than my chihuahua and she is only 3 months old
It will take as long as the inevitable moment he gnaws on a 5 year old's pelvis and has to get euthanized. Pit bulls are unhinged by nature, horrible breed that should have been left alone.
@@asparagus3087 lol this comment was so long ago that I don't remember which one I was talking about 🤣🤣 I had two pitbulls, one died while my current one I was able to teach how to sit, lay, give paw (able to switch to either paw), stay, up and shake hands. I'm still trying to teach him more stuff 🙂
I actually got a rescue dog who was 7 years old. She actually already knows ''sit.'' ''up'' ''no'' ''go'' and she will do shake when laying down buuuut.. Its been almost impossible to teach other tricks
Need advice I got a two year old pit bull spayed female from a shelter somewhere in Atlanta, she looks like she's been in dog fights, and always modt of the time had her tail tucked under her legs, she's a sweet dog and knows some tricks already and is house trained for the most part, but sometimes she snaps and attacks randomly, with like dogs, cats and certain people, but for the most part, she's a very good dog, but she won't seem to gain much weight, when we got her we thought maybe she was given steroids before we picked her up, she was more buffed up and more weight on her. Any advice??
The only thing my puppy knows is sitting, anything I ask him to do he just assume I told him to sit ;( When I push him a little bit down he starts barking and getting frustrated. Not really problem but when I insist he just leave the treat and walk way... (8weeks old pup)
I have a Staffordshire puppy. He is 3 months old and he lives in my house for 4 weeks now. Everytime I want to teach him "lay down" I tell him to sit down. Then I do it similarly like in the video but my puppy stands up again and is too excited for the food. When I wait, because I think, he should calm down first, he gets bored and doesn't want the food anymore. Does someone has some advices for me, please?

Excellent demonstration. I am about to work with my new bully who just got neutered and is finally paying attention a bit.
great people can learn how to keep the dog interested in learning an don't get upset with the dog as they try to teach them
One BLUNT for me one treat for the dog 😜
this guy smoked a joint before making this video.
Wow, you really put everything in the best descriptions ever. Bro, you got me. I've been way too negative. Great vid. Thank you so much!!
Beautiful Dog. The "stay" is the hardest part for my dog. My dog listens to commands with 75% accuracy. How do I get him to listen 100%
practice
... beat him.

Lon Rolvos smack the bitch
Lon Rolvos try using a gentle leader, not a pronged collar. you have to get your dog respecting you and focussing on you.
