Just wanted to add here that due to international shipping legislation, products cannot be shipped with batteries included unless the battery is an integral part of the item that cannot be removed. This is due to safety issues rather than economic ones. Batteries can explode or catch fire in the right circumstances.
Paul, could you still have yours in "Try Me" mode as opposed to "Play" mode? There are many more sounds in the "Play" mode. I agree, this is a really cool piece of Space 1999 memorabilia. =-)
