@31:24 you nailed the plan...building thru the lottery first, then maybe in 2025-26 making a splashy trade to compete. i.e. They would draft Dillingham rather than trade for Trae Young.
Targets this draft should be Sarr, Topic, Risacher, Dillingham, Buzelis, Castle, Holland, Knecht.
Bring Mamu back in FA and play him and Cissoko more next year.

Yes, the goal of the spurs is to choose as many rookies as possible over the next 2-3 drafts.
In all the lot they will come across probable future stars integrated into the team or it will be of value for a trade.
Spurs like Wembanyama have their moments. Above all, we must not waste this time by rushing and finding ourselves in 5 years with bad contracts which prevent any flexibility of movement.

I like the idea of FA acquisitions of versatile role players such as Kyle Anderson at PF-SF and also Bruce Brown PG-SG that are close to mid level exception deals on the market. Cody Martin too. This is the route of just using the available cap space by offloading Graham. 2 year deals would keep flexibility.

Mamu is the best PF option until a better young option presents itself in the 2025 or 2026 drafts. Matas Buzelis and Devin Carter would be interesting options to help on defence and still give scoring punch. Alex Sarr would be a PF if paired with Wemby, though again Mamu gives you the spacing.

Sarr, Risacher and Topic are all good additions to spur.
But If we get raptor's pick,
how about go for Magic's Isaac?
    Consider his oft-injured history,
maybe this year's 1st round pick exchange + Malaki could make it possible.
    Now Zach gets surgery,
Wemby needs some help in next season.
    If Isaac joins us,
we can play swishing defense on front court sooooo well.
Plus, we can avoid Wemby losing stamina quickly.
    Not cost too much,
and keep our own 1st round pick.

After 904 days, he made his return for Magic this season.
We all know pop's also a health management master.
If he joins us next season,
he'll be monitored anytime for sure.
In my imagination, this trade will be almost one pick exchange.
Raptor's pick isn't much valuable this year.
      This year's 1-10 are similar to previous year's 13-23,
      so I don't think it's too bad to make a win-win.
Every team knows Magic's a ticking time bomb.
      They have too many bigmen,
and too many rookies to extend contracts in few years.
      Including Banchero's Max.
We can help them with pick for future talents, and Malaki for backup SG who can create his own shoot.

And if Toronto pick doesn't convey maybe even better as 2025 is the last target draft for the spurs. Maybe Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland... and I'd still pick up BBol for cheap just because his body and style could substitute for SOME of VW's skills. if its cheap

If we're going to keep TreJones then the Spurs should probably draft topic to be his backup until he's ready to start. I've never liked the idea of the 27 footers. I grew up in Houston and watched the rockets do it with Ralph Sampson and Hakeem olajuwon and though it was good at times it was a bit redundant. We don't need Saar to be out there trying to block shots when we have Victor. If we're looking for a defender it needs to be a type like OG Anunoby. Of the players you have listed the ones that make me most nervous are Buzelis Ann Reed Shepherd. I think Shepherd is just going to be a very good sharpshooter in the NBA but somebody should be going 10 to 20 not 1 to 10. I know that he is an avid defender so that's a plus on his side but he's a small guard defender and we really need a 3 or 4 defender.. also Cody Williams was pretty inconsistent and I think it's getting a lot more hype just because of his brother than he would really have without it. He has some tools but I don't quite see it.

Trae Young provides better offense with his elite floaters, deep 3's and amazing playmaking. Whereas Dejounte isn't on par on offense he provides the difference maker which his his height and defense. I believe Trae Young would fit the spurs better but Dejounte would make them all around more balanced in a sense.
Expand the bench, have Tre Jones backup pg with some better 3&D guys. Maybe get De'andre Hunter too. Malik Beasley 3pt could help us tremendously from the bench as well. Johnathan Isaac would be elite too.
We have to focus on developing Wemby whilst having a crew to help us prosper. The Timberwolves and OKC was mediocre last season and now they're 1st and third seed in the powerful West.

If I recall, sas jumped out in 1st quarter leads for a significant # of games, then (seemingly) coach Pop took his foot off the accelerator so they would lose (for better lottery purposes). I think that shows the sas were a lot better even this year than their record and is more indicative of how next year could be far far better than this year. Also, if you see how the sas finished the season, even coach Pop taking his foot off the accelerator and sas STILL won. Assuming no injuries, sas will be far more winning next year than a lot of people would predict. Add one year of more experience for the players that will be staying and maybe another veteran or two depending upon cost and ka-boom. I doubt if any 2024 sas draftees will make a difference next year except for the potential of sarr and of course that assumes sas even get him. Should be fun! May 12 th will be interesting to see the actuality.

The thing that worries me about a big trade is that it creates a bigger Wemby problem, not from a talent perspective always, it is a financial one. Everytime Wemby's Contract comes up the league is going to up the ante on the Spurs to force their hand and limit their flexibility to build around Wemby. Someone like a Trae Young is too big a contract to take on as you would be moving him for cents in the dollar once Wemby is paid. A cost-controlled guy like a Payton Pritchard would be a useful add if the Celtics can't maintain their roster bill.

I have one more question or comment. If the Spurs lose the raptors pick this year then what happens with the pick? Does it carry over as an unprotected pick until next year? This is one of the worst drafts ever to have to possible top 6 picks. I think that the Spurs should take either dillingham or topic as the guard pick and then and then I'm really torn on which forward they should be looking at. I didn't watch enough college basketball this year to be able to picture somebody who can be a 15-18 point scorer with some great defense because that's the player we need. I guess they have to go with one of the French guys at the top of the forward stack. Wait I forgot about Ron Holland. If they wanted to play him as a small forward that might be a pretty good deal.

I know all the experts keep saying they should trade for all stars to join Wemby… why? Just do what a lot of great teams have done or the current great teams. Draft and develop. Denver drafted Murray, Jokic, and MPJ then built around them. OKC told SGA be patient for years while they drafted and developed the youth. Minnesota drafted Anthony Edwards, Karl Anthony Towns, and Jaden McDaniels. They drafted their stars then went for an all star. GS drafted their gang. Orlando, Houston, OKC, and others are young and very talented. Don’t trade all your picks and future just because you want instant small success.

I would be shocked if there were three remaining starters not including Victor still in the top seven next year. By the year after that I expect only one current San Antonio player to still be on the roster with Victor. There may be a couple of the bench guys left because they're young and so there's no need to get rid of them before they've proven who they are. I think that Sochan, Johnson and Tre Jones are all going to probably be part of a trade package this off-season. Perhaps multiple trade packages if San Antonio gets aggressive. Since early in the year I've been saying that I want to see Tyus Jones as the point guard for the Spurs because I do not want to see somebody like Trea young come in and do his isoball crap. I don't like that style of basketball and I think Gregg Popovich doesn't either. Tyus Jones is one of the most efficient players with the basketball in the entire league. I may be wrong but I believe that he's led the assist the turnover ratio a couple times. He's a free agent so the Spurs could get him without spending too much money. Even though they haven't been spending a lot of money the Spurs have made some pretty bad deals over the last couple seasons that they're going to need to get out from under. The Zach Collins contract is one of the worst in the league for the quality of player that he is. I think what the local guy wasn't understanding is that they're probably on a faster timeline than he imagines them to be. I think they like to be a play in team next year and a decent playoff contender of the year after. I would have a 5-year plan for getting an NBA championship if I were the Spurs. Maybe that's unrealistic but I'm not so sure when you have somebody as good as Victor. I think that the Spurs second third and fourth best player should be there 6th 7th and 8th best players. Maybe I'm being a little hard on Vassell and he could still be at the back of the top five but that's it.

I wish you had listed a third category that includes a few big grabs kind of players like the Mikhail Bridges pick. There are teams that are going to be blowing it up after bad playoff runs and some of those guys might be available next year so why not put Brandon Ingram, Alex Caruso, Kevin durant, Paul George, Donovan Mitchell and a couple players who get eliminated here in the next round? I think Brandon Ingram would be a great fit. Obviously his health is an issue and I'm not bothered by getting back to Dejounte Murray.

Outstanding video!!! Here in Spurs Nation we ALL want to see the Spurs "step on the accelerator" next year (we are tired of losing), but it is very realistic that next year could be another year of looking for a lottery pick. I just think that Wemby is ready to start challenging as a playoff contender next season and that the Spurs front office sees that and will try to accomodate him by getting another star (such as Trae Young). It will be fun to see how Brian Wright plays his cards.

That free agent Target list is depressing. I would love to have Malik monk but I'm not sure how he's going to come out of this injury and so is the Spurs fan I'm a little bit afraid of signing him. Nobody else on that list has enough scoring to be worth going after. It feels like you put bowl bowl on there just to troll me personally. For what reason would the San Antonio Spurs want to have bol bol? Like you said they've already got assigned backup center so they don't need the alleyway version of Victor as a backup. I think the Spurs should be going after a really good point guard unless the draft falls their way and they get who they're after. If that's the case then they don't need to go grab tyus Jones who would be number one on my list right now if the Spurs don't draft a point guard. If they do draft a point guard then we can let Tre stay in town and show the guy how to be an NBA player.

I'd rather have Brian Wright bringing back Derrick White then any of the trades you listed, because of cap flexibility, a lot of players are going to be coming off extensions and will potentially hit free agency in the next seasons, to list a couple: Jason Tatum, Lauri Markannen, De'Aaron Fox, Donovan Mitchell etc. I mean I don't think that they want to rush anything year two, I'm surely not buying Trae Young rumors, you don't go all in and bet all your future away when your franchise player is going to be a sophomore, and they still have to surround them, while Trae Young would completely mess up the cap space.
Would be better to have a loosing season but to bet on Markanen next FA for exemple. And I don't know how many more games they'd win year one solely because of Trae Young. And I don't think that the Cavs will let Garland go.

The intention wasn’t to lose but they didn’t try to avoid losing. Slight nuance. Especially considering how they won a bunch of games at the end of the year. If they were trying to lose they would have tanked to retain #3 lottery odds - they didn’t do that

As Frenchie, the Draft's acting is a Mystery . The calcul of the peurcentages and the trades between the teams are so ununderstanding and illogical for me 🥴. This vidéo is a big fresh flush for my foggy's brain😂
Some importants "détails" we can't be careless about :
1- Pop will probably win for his last season 2026/27
2- I don't think Wemby can play over 10 years without big injurie, and for me he must be performant, have a good team and begin to win since two years. I don't think he'll accept to tank more and more .
3- it's important that Spurs develop their défense and protect him, because I'm sure that lot of teams might prépare plans to destroy him next season.
It remembers me the planes against Antoine Dupont. And the French planes against the planes against Antoine. And finally the planes against the French planes against Antoine. 😂😂 I think it will be funny, but the 4th and 5th points can be crucials in this case :
4- during the season, I've seen more and more cohésion in the game and more understanding and agreement betwenn the guys. Wemby's leadership is now accepted.
5- Wemby will perrhaps not play more than 30/35 mns next season to protect him, to let the futures prétends find their place in the team and to test all of the possibilities too.. It will be an other tanking season, but perrhaps the last, if the guys can perform and progress together, and integrate few playing systems to prevew all the situations. They can't play like others teams with Wemby, they must have more combinaisons and playing-systèms, and that suppose they have polyvalents players.
You've presented Risacher and Sarr, but forget Salaün.. This guy is polyvalent too, agressiv and has lot of qualities.. He can perrhaps be one of the best choise for the team..
    To be continued...🧐😉😂
Thanks for This good good good vidéo... ❤🇨🇵🌻

Disagree with at least half of your list for the Spurs to draft. As a UK fan Dillingham and Reed are both overrated. As a Spurs fan, I’d rather have Isaiah Collier or Dalton Knecht. However, staying with the experiments long after it was clear it was not working does feel like tanking. 2) The Spurs needed immediate improvement and I would not draft someone out of college.
