    For anyone curious, scarification of banana seeds doesn't actually increase your germination rate. The inner coat of the banana seed is water proof and the outer coat is not, by damaging the outer coat, you decrease its absorbant mass and do not increase net water flow. Penetrating the inner coat does increase the germination rate but can lead to stunting if it is not done with precision. The best thing to do is to just soak them in lukewarm water for 48-72 hours as the seeds actually take their water in through the "plug" of the seed.

    First, I love love the color of your walls. It works great with plants, like a hot sun👍🏻I have a pink velutuna that has about 4” bananas, the seeds are small and hard. I’ve got them planted up. Did it bf I found you ! I have some more seeds coming in from across the pond😁and they weren’t cheap so I’ll definitely follow this tutorial. Thank you.USA

    Always sow at a full moon. I used to have a horticultural nursery and the timing of sowings, in accordance with the lunar cycle, makes a huge difference.

    Great video! Are there any bananas that grow from seed but are useful as sweet edible bananas, even if it means having to remove/avoid the seeds? Also, have you been making any banana crosses for optimising to UK weather? I would be most interested if we could breed bananas that can grow from seed and be ok outside in the UK, that are nice to eat.

      Very good idea, I'm no expert on Bananas but with the way the climate is shifting I could be feasible. Musa acuminata is one of the most widely available edible species 👍

    I grew a musa basjoo. Its about 10 inch tall. I planted it outside . But curls up from the sun. I acclimated for a few weeks. But seems it doesn't like full sun. Actually not even an hour of it. Do u know why?

    • @GrowParadise
      @GrowParadise  2 года назад

      Some plants are very sensitive when they are young. It could also be to do with the ambient humidity around the plant. If the air is extremely dry the leaves will quickly dry out and curl up.

    • @jheiny1231
      @jheiny1231 2 года назад

      @@GrowParadise your absolutely right. The highs been getting up to around 75 80 Fahrenheit. Without much humidity yet. So I've been misting the leaves once in the morning, afternoon, and night and it seems like it's been staying more perked up throughout the day. Thanks

    Really dumb question but bananas from a seed grown plant have seeds?

    • @GrowParadise
      @GrowParadise  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, it’s not a dumb question at all! 😀 Wild banana species contain these seeds, so yes when these plants flower and get pollinated the bananas will contain seeds. Supermarket bananas have been bred to contain either tiny seed or no seed at all.

    Can it be explained in Hindi

  • @zindrato
    @zindrato Год назад

    Comment imaginer que de telles graines existent dans une banane. Beaucoup de gens ne savent pas que les graines de banane sont minuscules. La raison en est la modification génétique des bananes vendues sur le marché, de sorte qu’il n’y a pas de graines. Pour cette raison, les gens ne savent pas que normalement les graines de la banane se trouvent effectivement dans la banane.
