    A clarification: in the chart at 10:05, the comparative form of *far* should be *farther.* It says -father,- which is a typo (mistake made when typing).

    As a native English speaker who has always done very well on verbal and written exams, this is by far the best description of adverbs I've ever heard! I have understood them intuitively as a native speaker, but this video has helped clarify a lot of confusion I've always had with adverbs, so I'm excited to check out your other videos. For me, this video is like learning the hidden (but clear) rules of music theory in the songs I know by heart - thank you!

    Instead of saying
    Jeremy carefully placed the candles on the cake.
    is it okay to say
    Jeremy placed the candles carefully on the cake.
    Both sounds okay to me and so not sure which one is correct or more commonly used.

    • @LearnEnglishLab
      @LearnEnglishLab  4 года назад

      Up to now I have not been making the lessons in any particular order because I make videos in response to requests that I get from viewers. But you could start with 1. parts of speech basics, 2. tenses, 3. modal verbs, 4. prepositions, 5. articles, 6. relative clauses, 7. infinitives vs. gerunds (to vs -ing), 8. subject-verb agreement

    • @jovetj
      @jovetj 6 лет назад +3

      *Irwin* you are doing very well there, for a beginner! You can compare what you wrote to how I (a native speaker) would write it:
      *Hi.* *I'm* a *beginning* *English* student, and I just *want to* say to you that *I've* been *watching* a lot of videos for a long time, but no one *teaches* like you. When I found your channel, and I saw the first video, I *subscribed* immediately! All your videos are helping me so much! I don't even know if *I'm writing this* correctly... hahaha! *Anyway,* I just *wanted to* practice *by* telling you what *I* think about *your lessons.* Thanks!!!
      Most of your mistakes are very minor. My advice is to never neglect practicing correct English! All practice helps. Practicing things you know are wrong builds bad habits. Do not use your mobile phone as an excuse to be lazy, either. Always follow capitalization rules, such as capitalize "I" and the first word of each sentence. The apostrophe is (') not (`). Slang words like "wanna" are okay to use, as long as you have mastered the words they replace.
      I did understood everything you were saying, until the last sentence. I had to think about that one a bit. Remember to always describe what you are thinking about when you use the verb form "think about."
