Bike actually looks decent, assuming there is a huge water tank in that down tube it overall looks quite integrated. Obviously the main question around beam bikes is the increased weight in order to get the stiffness as the double triangle design provides much more stability for the weight. My guess is that this bike is atleast 2-3kg heavier that the Trinity gustav will ride, with the forks, beam and disc brakes. However my guess is that the windtunnel would say its maybe 10w faster. maybe 20w at a push. On a fast course itd be worth it. However, Blu's position still makes him look like a brick wall. My prediction is gustav will ride the bike 5-10mins faster than Blu. Gustav is much more aero overall, lighter, better handling, better power. And after this he is the strongest runner in long course. Although he has been sick twice recently so maybe that will nerf him
Can wurf and seb kienle are the best bikers so they’ll push gustav too hard I think which will tire gustav on the run. If the top guys stay together on the bike it will be an equal match on the run I think which will mean it could be anyones race
@@jimjamthebananaman1 judging from both StG 70.3 worlds and Nice 2019 worlds i think Gustav is on the level or higher than Sebi and a lot of the big bikers. I dont think itd be any problem for him to keep up with wurf on a course like this. Mallorjca ironman last year already had a number of guys stay with wurf on the bike like Lson chavlier
@@jamesd5241 I remember watching him put 10minutes into the field on the bike in Copenhagen last year and would assume Wurf is at a much higher level coming off the Cobbled Classics season, than he was at Mallorjca. He has proven himself at world Tour level this year, he is levels above everyone else on the startline as a cyclist. Just depends where his swim is at as to where he features on the bike leg and whether anyone will try and go with him or trust that his run will be awful having priortised being a pro cyclist these last months. I can't wait to watch!
@@ollyole4560 i dont think his level at copenhagen is any different to at mallorjca. Its just that Lionel isnt very good at riding a bike compared to the real bikers nowadays
Hello, fellow Clermont'er. Always good to see fellow triathlete enthusiasts from the area. Getting real busy in the area lately with all the new construction, but hopefully Clermont will remain the triathlon training mecca for the east coast for at least a few more years.
Conclusion remains the same: There is no need for disc brakes on a Tri bike... Other than the industry pushing them and the additional revenue from everyone having to buy a new set of race wheels.
Looks like you are staying in Salt Lake City area, with some of the cycling footage in Saint George? Be sure to stay hydrated in that dry environment. Lykke til!
woah, seriously? id be shocked if cam goes under 4:10 on this course. im guessing closer to 4:15 or 4:20 for him, let alone kristian who id guess will be between 5 and 10 min slower on the bike split
Totally a personal opinion, but I can’t believe how ugly this bike is. Between the new felt bike and the new giant I just don’t understand. I’m sure I’m missing something here, but I couldn’t ever imagine wanting to ride this bike
It's just horribly ugly, the brand will tell you that you gain 5 watts in the wind tunnel at 50 km/h 😂 by remove the top tube of the bike...in short, I hope they won't sell this horror . After that, champion like Blum can win with any bike👍👍
That looks like an e-bike dutch grannies do groceries with. It better be the fastest on the day 🤣
His body doesn't look athletic. Funny maybe Ironman is more stress than good to the human body
For a granny bike and a non-athletic body he seemed to do alright.
@@jeremymcnamara7150 Thanks for this comment - no idea what is going on with this body and bike thing.
@@jeremymcnamara7150 more than alright ;)
Congratulations on a perfectly delivered race!
One year after Olympic gold this was spectacular!
What an incredible athlete you are! Congratulations on the win, well done champ! 👏👏👏
I can feel the nervousness through the video. Wish you all the best for the big race!
I wish you all the best Kristian! Appreciate your humility.
Now everybody knows why Gustav still has the Trinity - only KB can win an Ironman on a Dutch Bike!
The most aero dutch bike ever. 😂
Good luck man! Let's get it!!
Kristian shows the same interrogations and fears like everybody else. He is a truly contender for the IM WC at St George.
Hey Champ, looks perfect condition ! Can’t wait for your great performance on Saturday, wishing your 1st place of IMWC ❣️🤩
The old Giant MCR is making a modern comeback 👌
You're 👍 hope they never release that again on market

20W...no way!
Greetings from Clermont Florida . Safe and steady and strong race with ZERO bike problems KB !

What a great race you ran in St George... you were exceptional!
Bike looks sick. All the very best Kristian. Go get it!
Reminds me of Ventum/Cervelo Px series madness, getouttahere with that! 😳 All the best, I have Gustav taking it, this is his distance!

Amen! But this is known since like 8years😅
bike looks like the aero version of a city bike. Anyways. It will be a brutal fight on saturday 🚀🚀🚀
Nice bike! Good luck Saturday!
Don't like fact that on a fast descent can't hug a top tube with legs to help stabilize the bike that would sketch me out pretty good.
Nice Triathlon TT Bike and Good Luck. The design is brutal Go!
Glad to see the old is new. The 25th anniversary of the MCR2
Amazing performance yesterday!!!
you've got this man!
Understand why Gustav remains on his previous bike. This one is ugly as hell. Good lord what a let down…
And there goes the supertuck…
It looks horrendous 😂
Is that one of StGeorge city bike sharing bikes?
Enjoy your new bike! And good luck on saturday! We are cheering for you!
Complimenti per la tua casa e’ molto bella.
Can't say I'm a fan of the bikes design. But good luck man, all the best out there!
Looks like you are staying in Salt Lake City area, with some of the cycling footage in Saint George? Be sure to stay hydrated in that dry environment. Lykke til!
That is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. Looks like an Ebike. But you’re still a monster!!!!!!
80s Giant MCR with a new fork.
Good luck in St. George!
Good luck KB!!!
the missing top tube makes that aero tuck a bit tough. the fork blades look badass, but it looks like a chicks bike.
Looks like the Pinarello Machine which Bjarne Riis had thrown away from the road
Back to the 90s Burrowes designed Giant MCR
Congratulation on your gold medal in ironman wc yesterday!
It is quite gusty out here, bad choice to bring my front zipp 808 - have 💩 myself a few times 😆
Kind of looks like a step through bike with the fork of the s-works shiv
Nice bikeshare commuter. Where's the real bike? Hahaha
Does anyone really put bananas in a fridge? Good luck Blu!
Oh no. . . No no no no no
bike looks crazy
Whaaaat is this bike wow
the future has just begun - but wait to see the new bmc-machine in 2 days...
I expect split time under 4hrs
woah, seriously? id be shocked if cam goes under 4:10 on this course. im guessing closer to 4:15 or 4:20 for him, let alone kristian who id guess will be between 5 and 10 min slower on the bike split
Go for a Kú Cycle if you want to ride the fastest bike leg🔥
guys where can we see the race?

Brrrrrrr
Jeg ser frem til å se deg eller Gustav vinne i denne begivenheten!!

OMG that bike better be really fast because sure as hell it isn’t pretty, in fact to my eye it is butt ugly. Sorry Giant.
Cadex not giant (separate brand, same company)
Looks really nervous on the downhill part.
Brrrrrr
doesnt even look like a real bike. looks silly. but i bet it is fast. Regardless all the best for the race
Risky business 🙈
I don't like the looks of this bike either. Nevertheless, I wish you good luck in St. George.
Looks like a mix of the 90’s Giant and a Cheetah Bike from the late 90’s. Nothing revolutionary
Is that a woman’s bike? 🤔
Did the referees already see that 🤣?
Bare bra!!!
That bike looks weird
Good luck...the bike is ugly AF tho :-D
That bike is so ugly it makes me want someone else to win.
That is one UGLY bike.
Ugly machine, a cross between an on 90s TT machine with a hope lotus front end. No offence.
Ugly city rental. Same wheels bars cranks as everyone else. Good luck
Wow what an ugly tri bike, with all the beauties out there why use this one? Looks heavy too.
It’s surprisingly light. Looks heavier than it is
@@kristian.blummenfelt well… you did amazing on it. Congrats dude!
Copy of the old Pinarello
I dont know if I wanted to win on such ugly bike omg
It just takes a few weeks to get use to the look I guess 😉 it’s super handy to ride / race on
Good luck Kristian and have fun on the race :) Btw... get a better media crew, videos could be much better ;)
This was a better video than I can make. I would have liked to seen/heard more about the bike though.
i thought this was pretty well made
