    thank you for this fantastic explanation. I have a lot of experience with belts, but not with chains. Now it will certainly work. Regards Dave from Belgium

    The thing that I don't understand on this engine, I have this exact engine but with twin carbs. At the tensioner spring, there is another screw on the side, that holds a guide in place to keep the tensioner sprocket support from rotating on its axis. But if I screw that in, then the tensioner sprocket will be locked in place, the spring will no longer do anything. I feel like that is not how it's supposed to be; but at the same time if I don't screw that little screw in, I feel like it will fall of from the vibrations. I was really hoping that you also talked about that little detail in your video. Great channel by the way, you have some beautiful cars!

      Hello. I'm currently recording in that engine. That tensioner is not active like modern ones. It locks in place. The bolt is there to make sure for a perfect tension. From time to time it should be released to stretch the chain.
      Is a very old tech. But it works well. Thanks for watching

    What’s the simptoms of timming chain become longer than original timing chain length?

      Hello. On these engines are extremely unlikely. But it will rub against the internal parts of the engine.

    Hi Bruno, thanks for the link to this video, as previously mentioned, I'm doing a cam belt change on the 2l twinspark and the Inlet cam lobe is no Longer adjusted correctly. How do I adjust this without breaking something? I searched your videos but this I can't find this procedure. I'm looking at the car now if you can help please, thank you.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  2 года назад +1

      In that case you have to take the belt of and turn back, or clockwise the pulley. At the same time lock the cam in place.

    Nice one. Thanks for sharing this. What is this heat shield on exhaust side? Mine engine don't have that. Is it oryginal one? Second. What wit this bent conrod? Did you replace it or leave it as is?
    You said that can torque the camshaft sprocket after alignment everything. But there is a little space in there. Do you have any special tool for it? Intake side is big nut?

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  4 года назад +2

      Ok, well, the exhaust shield is from a Alfa 156 1.6ts that i get from a parts by. It's not a direct fit, but i did drill some holes and so far o like the result.
      The conrods i didn't remove or repair, just discovered wen i taken the oil pan of, i still feal gutted...
      Abou the torquing of the sprocket nuts i did ask for the proper tools but no one had it.
      So after i looked in place i took it all of again and torque it on the vice.
      Did not mention it because it's not the best way to do it.

      @@alfaromeonoproblem Good idea with this shield. Will try that too. About torque the sprockets - that's what I'm thinking. Best idea to remove cams and torque them like you done on a vice. It will be very hard to do it fitted in a head. Have you run it now? I have booked technical inspection of kine in Wednesday and will register it next week.. Finally

    • @alfaromeonoproblem

      Did run it today, i was finishing the filming of the last episode of this project.
      Started right away! I just have a gasoline leak, a hose i think.
