    Awesome job and video, have been searching for the right kit...thanks! Will do this for sure on my 230, maybe even the 250. Oh, and don't sell yourself short, yes, you're a woman and you nailed it!

    Check out that right fork boot. If its damaged like that & there's no dust seal above the oil seal dirt will get inside the oil seal & cause fork oil to leak & seal damage

      Thank you so much, I appreciate it! Fun to get into this stuff in the spare time & learn how to do some new things. I've used RUclips to try and figure out how to do things and often can't find a video that explains things well (and dumbed down enough for someone like me lol) so figured I could make videos when I do different things to help others out if possible!

      You must bleed your brake

    Hi Natalie, one question, did you use the 2 little pieces that come with the kit one blue and another clear on front and black on the back ? I going to install my kit next week ,but I have no idea where this 2 little pieces are going to connected TIA

    • @rollcoalrose
      @rollcoalrose  2 года назад +1

      Hey, sorry! I am new to this and didn't realize where the notifications for comments were. I did not use a few pieces in the kit as well and I did not see them outlined on the installation PDF either. I did not use the back license plate light (long black wire with single back nob with LED), only the back brake light (the long light that shows braking and left/right). I believe the blue plastic clip and clear item go with that back license plate light? The grease in the clear tube is dielectric grease for high humidity environments.

    hey, might be a dumb question but when the lights are all switched off, does the brake light still work when you hit the brake

    Great job! I am getting ready to convert my sons CRF230 for my wife and looking for a kit rather than trying to find it all separate. Looks like a great kit. I am just curious if the stock stator will keep the battery charged. I may go ahead and upgrade that as well. She is 5'4" I'm going to have to lower the bike a bit. If you don't mind me asking how tall are you and have you had any issue with seat height? She is brand new to riding. I don't want her to be intimidated by having to lean to one side to get a foot down.

      This worked out well for me. I have been having issues with my battery (starting the bike) but my battery is older so I think I am going to replace and see if that is the problem. I am 5'4 and 115lbs. The stock seat and bike height was "ok" for me, especially riding on the dirt and trails, but stop and go riding around the town is a bit of a different story (having to put your feet down everytime you stop at a stop sign or light). I "lowered" the bike by shaving off a bit of the seat padding. My seat was pretty whooped so this was a free and easy change to get a few inches off the bike. I am light so didn't need the extra seat padding. I made a quick video on that. I hope its helpful! I know there are ways you can lower the suspension, but that changes the ride of the bike so I'm not sure if that is a good idea, probably also depends on how heavy or light the person is. Hope she has fun!!!

    So the headlight has to stay on for the blinkers to work? Bummer

    • @rollcoalrose
      @rollcoalrose  Год назад

      Yes, that is correct....at least how mine is set up. You can wire differently than what I did so that there are two switches for power - one for only your headlight and one for everything else. In that case you could turn the headlight on with its own switch, only when you need it. I just wrapped everything into one.

    Does your stator provide enough power to keep the battery charged? I have a CRF250R that im trying to make street legal. Its a kickstart and im trying to see if this kit will work for commuting around town. Do you think I'd need to upgrade the stator to a higher watt output?

    • @rollcoalrose
      @rollcoalrose  Год назад

      Yes and no, seems to work well most of the time but sometimes (end of riding trips) my back lights stop working. I'm not sure if it is a wiring issue or a battery issue yet. I haven't ended up having a dead battery. You may want to upgrade the stator just to be sure.

    What exhaust is that? And was it a bolt on or weld on? Thank you!

    • @rollcoalrose
      @rollcoalrose  Год назад

      It's an FMF Exhaust and is bolted on. It was on the bike when I got it!

    Great install video, however STREETOHV quality is garbage. It does not work as it should. All the components are off alibaba and the owner is rude, condescending and a jerk. DO NOT BUY THIS KIT.

    • @rollcoalrose
      @rollcoalrose  Год назад

      Yup - you should be able to find all the parts elsewhere! Just used this kit for simplicity (first electrical build on a vehicle so wasn't quite sure what to do/couldn't find any good information on how to do it). I do agree - the wiring is extremely thin/fragile. I had some wires break and have had to solder new connections on. Also - do not like the turn signal switch, it is so small and hard to operate especially with gloves on.
