For the most part I enjoy this podcast but one thing I’ve keyed in on is that the majority of you guys played as guards, in a certain era. Those eras had their own style of play, and the guys that were stars then had a somewhat different skill set in terms of how bucket getting looked. Obviously offense looks different nowadays, you gotta be able to knock down 3s, be it a catch and shoot, step back, or pull up. You have to be able to initiate contact and find angles to finish through it. I feel like because Gil and Brandon played a different style and different tempo they low key hating on Brunson. He’s a better player than both of y’all. A championship pedigree coming into the NBA, and leading the fucking KNICKS deep into the playoffs as a PG, playing without the 2nd best player and few guys that can create their own shot…I respect your opinions but stop hating on less flashy players. Was Tim Duncan not the greatest PF? I love Garnett, McHale, Dirk, but flash alone doesn’t make you a superstar.

I think a lot of people don’t understand the definition of “Superstar” … there’s only 2 SuperStars in the league Lebron and Curry … that’s not a disrespect to his game Brunson is an absolute dog but you need more than that to reach superstar status

@@penkima4923 being a superstar and being an amazing basketball player is two totally different things …. Tim Duncan was an absolute animal on the court but his style of play was not sexy was not eye popping … in San Antonio he’s a God but he didn’t move a generation, he had zero personality , kids were not saying I want to be like Tim Duncan. Jokic is on the same route amazing basketball player but he’ll never be the face of the league he’s a European player that plays below the rim. I’m not taking away from his game he’s a beast but to a superstar here in America where entertainment reigns above all, he’s just not that.
