Liked the style of this keyboard. For everything that I saw the mini screen doesn't really work for much more than showing some little gif, but still a fun addition to build a cozy working station. Don't know much about keyboards, will keep on searching, but maybe I will get this one.
I prefer a keyboard without a display unless I want to squint my right eye due to visual disability since the day I was born. I'm blind in my left eye. 1:45 You said "key caps" but the plosives from the cardioid lavalier microphone thought you said "key pops." 2:30 I care less about keyboard backlight. I type without looking at my keyboard. 3:20 If I could, I would remove that knob, move the Del/Page Up/Page Down over to the right, and add the Insert button to the left of the Delete key. But for someone who uses a screen reader, I use Caps Lock as a modifier key instead of the Insert key. Perhaps I could replace that Insert key with Home and End keys. But then I won't get to do a Ctrl+Alt+Delete which is essential for corporate Windows networks. 3:38 Good to see more keyboards supporting both PC (Windows/Linux) and Mac. 4:49 Don't care for any software for controlling the keyboard anyway. Overall, this keyboard is not for me.
This looks cool but I really would much rather have a version that drops the screen and increases to full size. I have been working with a full size keyboard for over 30 years. These smaller form factors are just too crowded for me.
Oh you did get it free. Even if not paid you still need to tick the paid promotion as the free item gave you content. However, watched your live stream and its the most honest review because no one I've come across have bothered to talk about the shady software. There is no reason the "driver" needs access to the internet and it should be a program not a driver unless its trying to do something shady. The firmware update tool does exactly the same and tries to phone home to China for no reason as the keyboard firmware update still runs. Keyboard is good, will just try and avoid the software, if I can't it goes back.
This was not a paid promotion. The brand did not have any pre-review or approval of the content and all of the opinions were my own. You can see my full disclosure policy here: lon.tv/disclosures -- On the software side my recommendation against running the software in the background was mentioned at around 7:20.
You're using the wrong end of the tool to try and pull the keycaps off. The end you were using is for pull the switches. That why you had so much trouble pulling the keycap off.
No mention it runs an shady iot_driver.exe file that, despite closing all the other software that continues to run and continues to monitor ports. God knows what that's sending back if its watching the keyboard.
Lon becoming a mechanical keyboard junky is going to be great to watch.

Honestly it's better to use double shot PBT keycaps if you really want to have a good keyboard backlight.
Thanks for your review!❤🔥🔥🔥
Like is said on the live stream, the software is a big NO WAY IN HELL!!

Please review the five below wireless mini keyboard meant for streaming devices
Disappointed. Saw the live stream that appeared to be more open about the shady software. This review didn't really touch on that enough. Shame.
Shame on you Lon. You're old enough to know how to properly pronounce gif.
:P
;)
Bro's got a booger hanging out his nose the entire video lmao
