Goffice sounds cool but it makes me sad because it sounds like Go to the Office 😭 I'm actually thinking of calling this Dark Corp moving forward especially when I start making style guides for office wear
I actually like the corpgoth aesthetic since it blends structured cuts, minimalist details, and simple shapes. I work from home and my office is actually pretty relaxed on work attire, but I would still wear corpgoth in and out of work 🖤
I wore corporate goth to work for 3 years working at a dispensary in LA. I LOVED it. My bosses loved it and I got constant compliments. It was so fun having an excuse to compile these outfit combinations. People definitely took me seriously, respected me, and thought I looked hot, lol.
i feel that! i was punk-goth for years. and then in my 20s i got sucked into the ... world... i lost it all sadly. but now, i am 38 y/o i come to terms with it again, who i am, what i think about this world and all that stuff. i feel MOST cosy in ALL black again. you cant change who you are.
I feel like people don’t understand while it’s important to be yourself and press for inclusivity/diversity with appearances as long as you can do the job and be professional, however we live in the real world, too and there are some things we cannot change immediately
Absolutely, your performance and appearance have no correlation- as much as I advocate for dressing how you want in office, it's different per work environment
Im hittin the 30s, and all goth stuff that I see anywhere is something more for teens or too sexy for me... Corp Goth was just the way I found myself comfy. I dont want to be seen like a child, I want to look like a powerful and chic woman
I love the detail in this video.. I also like the term corp goth so that it’s easier to look up on social media.. I think perhaps people think too deeply about aesthetic or style names when in reality they probably don’t adhere to one style themselves 😂 thanks for the photos and tips!!
As a baby bat, i love to dress up in the victorian goth style but it makes me stand out too much in public. I like the corp goth style because i still can look gothic enough without sticking out too much.
Corp goth is so versatile 🖤 and yes it makes dressing in a dark aesthetic much more approachable in conservative settings but also theres an attention to tailoring and sharp details that I love so much in Corp Goth, it feels like anything can be accomplished lol
I love this video. This is how I dress most days, but I think of it more as casual goth, lol. While I'd love to dress like a dungeon mistress everyday, I'm also an introvert and don't like long stares at the grocery store or being grilled about my outfit at work.
I like the corp goth bc it is minimalistic yet still clearly gothic. I have features that can be easily overwhelmed and I think traditional goth make up and style does just that. Corp goth is less busy and more in tune with my features.
I can't believe I didn't think of this aesthetic. I saw your video's title and fell in love at first sight. I love goth the aesthetic, but I work in big tech and I don't wanna stand out too much. This is just perfect
Corporate goth is a great way to tone down an alternative or dark style when going to family events or church functions :) You can be yourself while being respectful of the venue. Yes, pinstripes are stellar 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
I’d like an updated one of these I just got a job at a high end salon as the manager and I love fashion but am goth so I need to know what things to tie together 🖤
Definitely coming soon! Definitely wanted to update since my trouser collection has grown, I have better audio & I realized I need to show more full body shots 🥲 also congratulations!
@@silkymochi that’s perfect! Your videos are great quality I used to be in the fashion industry and I appreciate the break downs of styles and how to mix your style with what’s expected at you like at a job. I’m very inspired to add on to my wardrobe. Thank you so much 🖤
oh I love that! So you and I have similar backgrounds! I majored in fashion design & worked in the industry for 5 years so I appreciate your comment 🖤
Thank you for this video. I am a regional manager and have to dress somewhat corporate, but i prefer a dark esthetic, and i have struggled so much. I have tried so many styles, and i just struggle to be comfortable. This video is everything and i appreciate it so much because we have to work, but losing ourselves happens when we have to work and thats sad we are all living below poverty level and the corporations think its also ok to take our identity. For example, if i have to change myself, i better be making damn good money otherwise its like this is unacceptable.
I loved all of this and completely agree! It even disheartens me when some workplaces consider harnesses inappropriate. I feel like Corp goth is such a fun Goth adjacent style on its own but also allows us to hold onto our dark aesthetic in office 🖤
Awww thank you 🥹 and yes! I'll post it on tiktok if thats okay, I already filmed it but you can go about it a few ways: look into my Solarpunk Pinterest board on how to make those earthy beige tones a little edgier because beige can sometimes look like youre going to the Hamptons lol OR you use that beige jumpsuit as a neutral base, layer chain belts or even a beige harness on top, layers or rosary style necklaces, and combat boots of any brand can really make a great ensemble
I'm so happy i found your channel now. I'm about to start my first proper job and now have to buy clothing for it. I don't think i could get away with harnesses in this work space. Do you have any suggestions or alternatives to then which would work well?
Congratulations on the job! And I appreciate you 🖤 alternatives to harnesses is playing around with belts: vintage ones, fabric, leather, etc. also there are some harnesses that don't really look like a harness like Disturbia's Aerial Wrap Harness or look into Waist Peplum belts!
Hello my bothers wedding is in about a month and i literally dont know how to dress, can u please make a video on how to build a wedding guest goth kinda look?
I can absolutely try maybe one day! Idk if I'm exactly the best when choosing masc leaning clothes but I love ando dressing 🖤 so I'll see what I can do
Thanks for this video! I heard you say you're a kibbe natural. Do you know any goths who are romantic or theatrical romantic? It's hard to dress goth, romantic, and not too sexy.
Christina Ricci and Helena Boham Carter are great dark aesthetic Romantic muses! And Rose McGowan is a speculated Theatrical Romantic but is a great dark aesthetic muse as a Scream Queen, a 90s witch when she was on Charmed and some of her red carpet looks 🖤
The way to call it is irrelevant for me. I am goth and I have a full time job hibrid style so I search for confy and nice clothing to survive the office days, the only rule for me is all black and nice but confy. I have to use public transportation. my music is my companion during long journeys and it is the more important for me.
Some people like the look of corporate goth even without working a corporate job or some prefer a dark more tailored styled and also calling it corporate goth makes it easier to find inspiration- I have loved goth music since I was 13 and loved business wear but was made fun of for it so its nice to have a term for it. So it may be irrelevant to some but its nice to hear for those who have wanted a term for it, you don't have to call it corp goth if you dont want to but some of us quite enjoy it and for me personally who was made fun for wearing business wear and having a dark style it personally heals my inner child
May I recommend/request some more gender neutral suggestions? There doesn't seem to be many youtubers in this space that talk to men. It's very difficult to find inspiration... especially with how few of us were taught about anything fashion.
I absolutely can try! I plan on doing a Mens Dark Essence video soon but I will say I don't do a lot menswear because I'm not knowledgeable of it & most of my videos come from personal experience
can we all agree on the term Goffice once and for all

Yes same! I don't just love it because its "office appropriate" but it honors tailoring in a dark way 🖤

Agreed! Its much easier to look up & overthinking the corporate part is not needed lol in the need we just need to term to help look up inspiration!

Random question: Any way can you make a tan/beige jumpsuit goth?

How would you do a dark autumn dark essence and/or goth style
Actually I'm thinking of doing dark aesthetic seasons soon! But I can start with the autumns!

Yes Id love to & Ill do my best to get it out before the end of the month!
@@silkymochi thank you so much!!!🙇🏻♀️
Can you please build one with ando or masc leaning? Thanks!!

I have the Skorpios pants, I’m 5ft 10in and I still had to take them up haha
Omg so they're just super long in general 😂 I still need to get mine hemmed, it always gets dog hair on it because of how low it is
Can you do one for romantic goth?
Yes I'd love to! 🖤🖤🖤
@@silkymochi yay
What lip color are you wearing? Love it 🖤
Thank you! Its Sephora's Lip Cream Lip Stain in Berry Sorbet 🖤 i also put on like 3 layers to get it that dark lol

4:48
I mean 6:47 9:21 11:10 15:47 18:00 18:14 18:51 would definitely not be appropriate for work. Even if the dress code were casual.
I think it depends? Because I do wear these to work
@@silkymochi I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even pass the first interview if I wore anything like that to the interview 😅
