I remember thinking not 3 episodes ago about people who say "If you have a fear, then there's a Magnus Archives episode for you" or something like that. And I thought that I didn't have any real fears outside of complex trauma-related ones. But then... this episode. The moment I read the premise in the description I knew this was mine. Because I misplace things so often. Sometimes I find them again, sometimes I don't, but it's often that when I need things they aren't where I remember leaving them or I don't remember where I put them at all. There are times where I have these big spikes of anxiety whenever I reach for my phone or bus pass or whatever other important item, thinking it will have vanished because I'm so forgetful and disorganized. And God, never in a million years would it have occured to me that this is a fear that could be spun into a nightmarish manifestation of my personal hell packaged neatly a 15 minute story, tied up with a bow. I personally have a theory that I'm not sure is true BUT either way Jon should know that killing spiders is not the best way to go. Now for my theory, I think the spiders are actually the natural enemies of the worms. And since we know that fire kills the worms I think the lighter with the spiderweb might actually be good for Jon? Also, they seem to have discovered a new passage but what I think is more important is that as soon as Jon killed the spider (or at least made it move) the worms turned up again. Now of course I might be wrong because I'm a 1st time listener but it's interesting to keep in mind
iam now seeing another pattern, fractals. They were mentioned before in other episodes as well. recurring character! I'm sorry only one person laughed!? I laughed at the joke!
"That joke's so old only an antique dealer would be able to sell it"
The Magnus Institute feels like what would happen if the Foundation had only a single site and a fraction of the budget.
And it was public but yes my thoughts exactly
that ending scared me lol
Excuse me as I sit here staring at my phone with a horrified look
He lost his husband
:’0
This is actually the plot of a horror story I read a while back; though the lady in that tale was going increasingly insane because sometimes when she said something like "you should wash your mouth out with soap" the person she said it to would wind up dead the next morning in a way related to what she had said. At one point she got in a fight with her wife and said "I wish you would just disappear". think you can figure out what happened next...
@@tearez13 Oh my god, what was the name of the story ?
@@justeundonut-moi.7979 no idea... srry
@@tearez13 Thanks anyway 😊
It's okay, men can't have husbands. He was just a delusional freak.
Ok ok ok so when it hit the quiet "sasha run" my stomach dropped, and then when it hit the "RUN!!!" My heart just exploded. I actually had to put my headphones down and run to the kitchen to splash some water on my face because I started hyperventilating. But it's sad because when I came back to listen to it again it had lost the power. Welp, guess I'll have to keep listening on! What a shame.
After learning that squirming sounds are pasta, I can't stop imaging angry spaghetti instead of worms...
Mac and cheese
Angery macaroni lol
One thing I just picked up on is how Salesa forgot having the vase, which means at some point this guy is going to forget about his husband alltogether.
That ending.
MMMMMM THAT "Sasha run. RUN" at the end got me sIMPING
I jumped at the yelling holy shit that was good acting!!!
That vase really said steal ya mans
Bro i felt chills when Jon said "RUN!" i usually see this guy as the type to never yell.
Nobody:-
The Magnus archive (at the end of this episode):- JUMPSCARE!!!!
WTF IS GOING ON?! Hearing Jon shout "RUN" was very disconcerting and seeing as we can't see what is happening... I'm getting a little worried...
What! No! No! You can’t end like that! You have given me chills. Why did you end the recording that could have been the proof you needed to validate your experience!
The end gave me major chills I feel like I need to be sick
I’m js gonna 18:27
Holy... that "RUN" gave me chills. Bad chills
And it is to this that we do owe a thank you to The Web
Spoilers
I have severe memory loss issues so the ones concerning forgetting things or being forgotten or not knowing who you are really get to me
I actually have massive gaps in my memory related to PTSD, this stuff scares me because...well I can't remember half the stuff I did or said even after the event ended.
ok WHAT there is so much to unpack here -- for me the vase reminds me of the fractals that the schizophrenic father was obsessed with (and was it mentioned more times? i dont remember). wtf happened at the end. is this to do with that cursed table?? what is ha p p e n i n g
also that bloody. the plaster wall? reminded me of old passages where a wall was found out to be fake and there were passages behind it. idk

Holy moly , when he screamed “RUN !!!!!!” at the end I flinched . The acting was so flipping good !
I don’t know why but every episode I listen to the _entire_ outro. Every time.
Omg they really arent lying when they say tmi has an episode for every fear, I hate losing things, whenever I cant find something I get very iritated and I start looking for it like crazy, fearing I will never find it. Crazy they have an episode about something like this
Oh my god Jon yelling RUN at the end scared the Dickens out of me. I jumped so bad my coworkers are giving me weird looks
Yeahhh I have something similar happen to me. I call it the Elizabeth Dimension (Elizabeth is my first name.) It seems I have this uncanny ability to lose things as soon as I put them down, like they’ve been swallowed by a void. I’m mostly joking when I gripe to myself “Ah, lost to the Elizabeth Dimension.” Mostly joking.
❤️ I got goosebumps at the end! Made my girl stand on end! “Sasha run, RUN!” I shivered.
(1 yr later, guessing you know what happens) ... specially since these are probably Jon's last words ever to Sasha....
Hope your girl is okay, standing on end like that
"It's only ever gotten a laugh once"
Hey, I laughed so now it's twice
omg I swear John's screams are the scariest thing in this podcast
15:14
Jon/Andre: fingers coming out of the pot.
Me: ooh~ a wild vase girl appeared
Andre used flee
It seemed effective, but not for long.
5:53 this is a fractal, the type of pattern the guy in burned out was studying before dying
"...things I don't even remember losing..."
CHILLS
I hope they're all ok. The run at the end really startled me. It was so well done. Sounded so genuine, so much panic. I love it.
“Military tunic” 5:27 😳 did he sell this to the first guy in pageturner?!
Wait WHAT?! That actually sort of makes sense 😳
This one is so conceptually horrifying and sad.
I got stuck on a river while listening to this and now every time I go kyaking I remember this episode with perfect clarity.
and oh no :( my favorite person who posted the transcripts is gone... last episode too... where art thou?? 😭
If you're still looking for transcripts, you can find all of them at: snarp.github.io/magnus_archives_transcripts/episode/037.html
Some commenters have been copy-pasting them in here. Actually I just added the one for this episode :D
Rewatching Tma is remembering johns loud "RUN!" At the end of this ep and trying to time when to turn down your volume that way it doesn't startle you
THE WAY FREEZE WHEN HE SAID: "Sasha run. RUN!" OH MY GODDDD. THE FEAR HE HAD ON HIS VOICE.
Oh, the Salacia guy is the one the victim was meeting at the docks in Piecemeal!
does anyone know what other statement the antiques dealer was mentioned in?
I believe it was Piecemeal?
In Piecemeal, the guy who the main character later murders is having a meeting with the antiques dealer.
The voice acting on that last bit is just *chef’s kiss*
I just noticed, he sounds sinisterly happy when he says 'thanks for listening' at the end. Does anyone else feel like that?
That run at the end scared me so good
It makes me so uncomfortable hearing Jonathan screaming run at the end, his calm is completely gone
SAME
I personally have a theory that I'm not sure is true BUT either way Jon should know that killing spiders is not the best way to go.
(whom I don't remember)
also he better not have killed the immortal spider because if he did, he is going to be hunted like that pooor man from the acrophobia episode.
I'm lowkey scared, please tell me Jane didn't make herself a home in the walls ToT
Damn. The ones themed around madness and memory are especially effective for me
Holy cow, the run at the end of this made my heart stop
I AN LISTENING TO THIS AT 3AM WHYWHYWHYWHY WHY AM I LIKE THIS
The spider and worm don't get along. Was it was warning him? Also, that yell of "RUN!" was very, very well done, and made me jump. Bravo once again, you wonderful voice actor.
