- In this (p)holy day 9/7, I wanted to share with you a more detailed (and musical) exploration of a 7 vs 9 polymeter 😁
Be free to add some instrumental part on it (guitar, bass, keys, chords, sugar, or anything) and tag me in your post on the socials so I can see what you’ve created with this rhythm!
Have a nice summer everyone 🤘🏻

To anyone that would like the related DRUMS SHEET
An already-written sheet gives the answer. It's by trying to write it yourself that you will understand how things interlock together and that you'll make some concrete progress! Don't hesitate to DM me on instagram so I can check if you got it right.
But if you don't wanna bother, you can buy it straight away on my website:

Camille, bravo on just a perfect creation. This is SUCH an awesome sound. You produce entertaining and inspiring content. You are an amazing percussionist. 👏
The word "pocket" reminds me strongly of 4/4 funk grooves but I really can't describe your polymetric playing with a different word. Insane pocket
Getting some The Bad Plus vibes here. So musical!!!
Damn that was beautiful. The marimba click track didn’t sound like anything except a math lesson to me but with the clear drum pattern and the beautiful chords it had way more musical mileage than I expected
That "graceful stumble" pulse is very similar to the one in Mental web. Oh man, I can't get enough of this tasty polymeter stuff!
I would say this is the future of music, but it is so incredibly difficult just to play, let alone to make it sound this good and groovy and palatable.
Absolutely love your work!
Mental Web is based on a 5 vs 7 polymeter. Close, but not quite the same 🤓🤓 the patterns that result from the shifting are a little similar and give the same kind of tasty stuff though!
@@CamilleBigeault No need to put on our 🤓 glasses, I at least knew that about Mental Web! But beyond that, the only input I can give is appreciation. :D
By the way. Are you working on an album or EP perhaps?
@@Diesel_Budgie Thank you very much ☺ Yes I am preparing stuff to release, including a studio-mix of Mental Web. But the other stuff is more pop/folk oriented, with voices :D
You're so cool, Camille! I've been checking out some of your other videos, and you are such an incredible musician. I'm amazed. Thank you for sharing your talents and passion with all of us. ❤
Superb! One of the best grooves I've heard in a very long time!
I love this one!!! It's my next challenge!!! Thank you for posting!
Excellent video Camille 🥁🥁🥁 Congratulations 🥁🥁🥁🥁
Bella/Linda.😱✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️✡️
Sometimes with these videos I get lost when the different patterns are brought together, but seeing it in Logic makes it much easier to follow. Thanks.
I'll do that more often then!
Holy crap that is awesome
What is that ride please?
my psychiatrist: the paragon of groove does not exist, it cannot hurt you
this video:
It sounds so good 👍
that's so freaking cool! more of this pls! love it!!!
this is just insane 🤯
I'll just take your word for it that you're doing what you say you're doing
@@chrischris9253 I spend hours on that kinf of stuff every month since 7 years. Yes I do!
amazing
Merci.
I hope she donates her brain to science so we can know just what the hell is going on in there.
you are so good.
Very cool
very inspiring!
will it be a full track? so smooth and nice harmony
@@nikitasimonov4403 I don't know yet, only the future nows 😁😁
@@CamilleBigeault thanks for that goosebumps
dure ça 😅😅 mais trop cool😆
Amazing! When you are playing the drum groove, are you actually thinking in 7 and 9 simultaneously, or did you memorize the accented part of each pattern? Either way it's amazing
@@androbyn I'm just memorizing the global rhythm it makes together, I don't think in math at all but in song!
I don’t think anyone ever counts two rhythms simultaneously, it’s always the compound rhythm first and from there you can shift your focus from one to the other
@@artonion420 Yes exactly!
@@CamilleBigeault Your videos are great and you are always a source of inspiration! Thank you for everything that you do
@@CamilleBigeault Thanks for your great videos and explanation!
You know 7 ate 9, uh?
This surely angers the gods (the jealous ones).
WOW WTF
This should be illegal.
