I used to go to a independent fundamentalist Baptist Church and their missionaries go on deputation around the country to raise money for their mission work. They have to work full-time in the mission field for low stipend pay.

People talk about god will provide, but then go begging. I have worked 2-6 jobs at a time depending on the needs I had. Not once have I needed to ask for or borrow money. Not even for my home. God was there when I went to college and worked before and after my classes. God gave me the strength to work 4 jobs so I could buy my home in cash. God guided me while I paid for my mom’s stroke recovery, medical expenses and her funeral. Am I rich. No. But I have always had what I needed without taking from others.

You can not charge fees if you are a PRIVATE pilot. You have to have a COMMERCIAL license for that. When you are a private pilot, you are PAYING out lots of cash to do it, you aren't getting paid. The only thing you can do is let people split the fuel but you absolutely can't charge ticket fees or anything else. That's a HUGE no no.
And BTW they spent anywhere from 5-7 thousand dollars for him to get a license. Everyone in the flight community knows, private pilots aren't usually wealthy people, flying is a VERY EXPENSIVE hobby. You have to pay for insurance, and the low end of renting a 4 seat single engine plane is around 130.00 per hour. Then there's fuel 5.00 a gallon if you are lucky, ramp fees all kinds of stuff you have to pay for. And such a 'frugal' family is dishing out that kind of dough?

This is interesting. The Duggars were just in the Silicon Valley on Saturday. Out of curiosity, I attended the meeting. It was hosted by Values Advocacy Council (a conservative faith-based organization) and took place at a local church building. The president of the VAC organization was a well-established Silicon Valley techie (an Indian man by ethnicity but born in Africa). The host organization made it clear that the Duggars stressed that they were not to be compensated for speaking at the meeting. Moreover, the hosts stated that the Duggars insisted that the event charge no admission fee whatsoever for the event. Finally, I noticed that the Duggar family gave out free copies of their daughter's new book to everyone in attendance. I found the event to be very interesting. The Duggar family was very approachable...even if they seemed just a bit shy. They met with people before, during and after the meeting. They came across as very kind-hearted and sat at a table with people. They seemed genuinely interested in what others had to say. So, no, they didn't charge the host for, well, hosting them. The venue and facilities were free and open to the public. The Duggars gave out free books to everyone in attendance. I didn't see any attempt by the Duggar family to ask for an "offering" or anything like that. In fact, I was left wondering how they can afford to be so generous with their time and money. I actually enjoyed the meeting quite a bit. I even took a few photos of them (which they didn't seem to mind at all). Prior to the event, a young Asian girl played AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL on the harp. This was followed by someone else who sang a song.

I have my private pilot's license and it costs mega bucks to get it. I cannot charge to fly people, I can only fly people free. To charge he would have to have a commercial pilot's license with instrument rating. Even that is not enough to charge people. He also needs an ATC license and that requires a college education. The cost of airplane, maintenance, insurance, and constant physicals make it more expensive than just taking an airline. That part is a scam I don't believe.

We followed a lot of their financial advice and it has helped our family immensely. My favorites are buy used and save the difference and I have been making my own cleaning supplies as well. We also share a lot of their conservative values and are Christians too

This is interesting. The Duggars were just in the Silicon Valley on Saturday. Out of curiosity, I attended the meeting. It was hosted by Values Advocacy Council (a conservative faith-based organization) and took place at a local church building. The president of the VAC organization was a well-established Silicon Valley techie (an Indian man by ethnicity but born in Africa).
The host organization made it clear that the Duggars stressed that they were not to be compensated for speaking at the meeting. Moreover, the hosts stated that the Duggars insisted that the event charge no admission fee whatsoever for the event. Finally, I noticed that the Duggar family gave out free copies of their daughter's new book to everyone in attendance.
I found the event to be very interesting. The Duggar family was very approachable...even if they seemed just a bit shy. They met with people before, during and after the meeting. They came across as very kind-hearted and sat at a table with people. They seemed genuinely interested in what others had to say.
So, no, they didn't charge the host for, well, hosting them. The venue and facilities were free and open to the public. The Duggars gave out free books to everyone in attendance. I didn't see any attempt by the Duggar family to ask for an "offering" or anything like that. In fact, I was left wondering how they can afford to be so generous with their time and money.
I actually enjoyed the meeting quite a bit. I even took a few photos of them (which they didn't seem to mind at all). Prior to the event, a young Asian girl played AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL on the harp. This was followed by someone else who sang a song.
By exploiting their "family" of 19+ kids", taking every opportunity they can to make a buck, idiots that follow their every move and even follow their children when become "adults". That's they support themselves!

Some simple math: In a few years, when every Duggar child is married and has at least 3 children. So 2 (Jimbob and Michelle), plus their 19 children, plus all their spouses is 40 people. Assuming all of the kids have at least 3 children (you know they'll all have even more tho, chances are), that's 40+57, +the 3 more kids Josh already has is 100 people at a family reunion--->what is the goddamn point lol? I thought the Duggars also made $ from some rental properties and had at least one cell tower on their property which yielded some rent, too.
At the time those cell towers went up cell phone companies were paying 60k PER MONTH for 50 yrs. I knew a guy that was a real estate acquisition agent for a cell phone company. They sure don't eat healthy, have you seen some of the crap they call food? Certainly not spending it on food!

I'm sick of hearing about them!! I was raised in a Baptist Church but I can wear pants! I think it's a shame that they make there kids wear nothing but long skirts and omg the bathing suits!! I have my private pilot's license and it costs mega bucks to get it. I cannot charge to fly people, I can only fly people free. To charge he would have to have a commercial pilot's license with instrument rating. Even that is not enough to charge people. He also needs an ATC license and that requires a college education. The cost of airplane, maintenance, insurance, and constant physicals make it more expensive than just taking an airline. That part is a scam I don't believe.

I stopped buying Chick-fil-a as soon as I learned that although they don't reject gay customers, they use their profit to sponsor anti-gay organizations. To me that's even worse then rejecting gay customers right at their face. Then I heard it is not true, Chick-fil-a doesn't sponsor anti-gay groups, but at this point I already felt this restaurant is "too religious" for me. I am not saying religious people shouldn't run business, and I don't mean I never buy from religious business, but if they parade their beliefs to their customers then that's a big turn-off to me.

When they received backlash, people started feigning manufactured "love" for Chick-fil-A to show that they support them (and that they're also bigots). The Duggars support Chick-fil-A solely because they're anti gay and against same sex marriage which aligns with their equally extreme religious views. It doesn't have anything to do with money, although it's most likely true that Chick-fil-A IS paying them now just for the publicity.
