    Stoked surprised me. Didn't know that was Kiwi; us Brits sometimes use it. Never understood why they're Jandals, or 'thongs' in AUS. (We call the flip flops bc of the sound they make)
    In th UK a thong is very very short women's underwear that goes up into the ass crack. Wonder what they're called in Aus/NZ 😂

    • @charamia9402
      @charamia9402 7 месяцев назад

      I heard jandals are 'japanese sandals' shortened. The underwear is called g-strings (no idea where that came from) to differenciate them from shoes - I heard that happened in California where 'thongs' were also shoes, until flip-flops took over and the underwear got 'thong'.
      - A Norwegian who finds it incredibly fascinating how the english language have evolved in the different english speaking countries.

    • @robbyfn
      @robbyfn 7 месяцев назад +6

      nah most of OUR (aussie and kiwi) slang comes from the UK which is why we both have similar words. The slang in this video isn't really proper kiwi slang in that way compared to things like "the wop wops"
