Still remember Rohit Sharma started off great as a number 6 batsman in the T20 World Cup winning team in 2007, and then had a very good CB Series down under in Australia. Then in the latter half of 2008 to 2010 he had a dip in form which is why he was eventually dropped from the 2011 World Cup squad (wish he was selected so he'd have his medal too).

Not to forget, before trying Rohit. MS tried, Rahane, Vijay, mukund, Shikhar. Even Rohit got chance to open in 2009 & 2010 but Rohit failed to utilise that opportunity. In 2012, against Eng he got a chance to open he scored 80 odd. After good IPL 2013 he got selected for CT'13 and No one expected Rohit as opener in CT. He was 2nd leading run scorer of that tournament. He was not his 1st option. But lately his decision clicked rohit become more successful.
