    Hi Dan, nice show!! my 18T 9 Cat H2H league, Action draft, I got AD, Harden, Ball, Ayton, BLopez as my main guy with Strus, Barnes, Ivey, TJ, Westbrook and Dick. I think I got several your guys based on your show, hope I can have a good season and good luck to you!

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад

      Good luck, dude! Don't be afraid to drop some of the inefficient clunkers down at the end there if they're killing your %s

      @@OldManSquad Thanks Dan! You know in 18T, it’s hard to drop anyone can produce, the top free agent guy is Lonzo and R. Williams now.
      At first I want to build punt Ast and 3 with AD, but can not pass low bid on Harden and Ball.

    • @kenlee4708

      AD+Lamelo seems too risky as your main guy because they are both injury prone imo

      @@kenlee4708 yeah that’s my only concern there. 18Team, Lamelo only $37, everyone is afraid. Pray for both lol.

    For a guy like Hartenstein I think he is way more likely to go in the 60s than 70s or 80s. Like you noted the ADP in the 80s is weighted by his really low rank to start the year

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад

      I think he MIGHT top out in the 70's, but I guess we'll see

    another great vid 😀 could you please do a deep sleeper or something that applies to 16+team leagues because reaching for players happens so much more in bigger leagues.
    Also, why don't you just smash a litre of water before each video so then you don't need to take 100 little baby sips 😅

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад

      Hahaha my body doesn't work that way. I've always needed to drink when I broadcast. Doing baseball play by play it was easy, though, since there are long pauses in the game! It's also another reason to have guests, so I can sip while they talk and turn my mic off

    Hi Dan, I found your channel about a month ago or so through one of your collabs with Josh. Do you see yourself making any content for points leagues?

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад +1

      About once every couple weeks we do a points league show with someone like Robbin Marx. He's been great for that!

    Drafting Zach over the 5th round is insane. You can’t name 10 players who are better scorers than Zach.

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад +1

      There are a lot of fears around trades or shutdowns etc and remember… fantasy is about more than just being a good scorer

    • @AlexanderBeenGreat
      @AlexanderBeenGreat 3 месяца назад +1

      @@OldManSquad the only time Zach has stopped playing early is when he was injured. Being traded wouldn’t matter because he is on a huge contract right now & would be a substancial piece to any team. Not to mention Zach is one of the most efficient high sitting players in the league. He can shoot 3s & has average defense. He was going in the second round during fantasy drafts a few years ago for a reason. I just do not see any justifiable reason for him to go later than the 5th round but we will see how the year goes

    • @OldManSquad
      @OldManSquad  3 месяца назад

      If he got moved to a team like the Lakers that would definitely remove some usage. But the issue is that he has a few holes in his fantasy game that make getting above top 50 tougher

  • @AsadaTaco1

    do you subscribe to Josh Lloyd's idea that counting stats are more consistent categories and hence should be weighted higher in h2h leagues than efficiency stats like percentages or lower counting stats like blocks and steals?

    • @goddosupiidoyuu
      @goddosupiidoyuu 3 месяца назад +3

      You didn’t ask me but I think it’s definitely true that counting stats are more reliable outside of steals and blocks. Percentages fluctuate week to week wildly and this is coming from someone who cares about both % categories during drafts maybe excessively

      @@Justinsox39I think mock drafting while on camera reacting to every pick and explaining yours is a skill in itself , he did pretty well on that Industry Pickup league last yr

      I'll reply to all the good notes in here:
      In terms of drafting while talking - it's hard as hell as you've seen me flail a few times too!
      In terms of the variance, YES, it's real. BUT, even in H2H you need to consider the aggregate of 18-20 weeks. Sure, you might lose FG% even if you're ranked the #1 team in it BUT it also has a greater buffer against erosion if you're dealing with injuries, and over the full season you'll still likely rack up a nice chunk of wins.
      In the playoffs, maybe it's harder to rely on, but I love having teams that can still pull out 5-4 wins even when the injury bug strikes and that's a good way to do it.
