Fish losses could be astronomical with floods this severe. As the rivers recede we all should be on the lookout for stranded fish in left behind pools and safely rescuing what we can. Thanks for the video, Joe.
I will be having a look over the next week with a net to see if I can find anything stranded
Pleased I live where I do. Although we have been getting it bad recently. The old Rivers Authority (EA) used to patrol the rivers and remove vulnerable trees to stop them falling and causing obstructions, they also used to extract gravel to prevent to keep water levels lower.
I feel so sorry for all the people and animals that have been affected by the flooding in the area and hope that those affected have been able to get somewhere safe until the flooding subsides
The people who live near the Trent must be devastated
Greedy developers building on flood plains, just wash everything away.
Terrible,Newark really bad aswell😢, can't believe they could fish at Hallcroft
Incredible footage Joe I have no doubts that many places are the same, gunthorpe was exactly the same. Thank you for sharing and hope you and your family are safe and well 👍👍
I feel for anybody affected by it all. The Trent is devastated and some of our family have had to evacuate from the nene valley area.
@@MatchFishingFilms let’s hope it settles down soon
Certain people should be apologising to those who have been saying this is going to happen ! Won't hold my breath though !
Doesn’t take much rain these days for this to happen
Well filmed Joe of how bad thing's are with flooding, it just show's us how bad it is for some people affected by it, Thank you Joe
Fantastic footage. Its a real shame you were able to shoot it though.
Hope all around the area are safe and well.
Very true
Incredible footage Joe. Thanks for sharing. Very saddening images. I do hope that everyone, including all the animals, are safe and sound. Be safe everyone. ❤️
Sheesh! That's a bit of extra water isn't it! Might need a few netters in the fields as it drops.
Seems we've had a public park or two sprout some large puddles, and some roads across the East Riding, I guess we've dodged the worst of it again up here, for now.
Yes I’m going to have a walk with a net as it recedes as you never know
Really terrible this Joe can't imagine how devastating it is for people having their homes flooded. My family farm around the Wash they've lost acres of potatoes rotting in the ground and winter wheat fields completely ruined. Sadly it will affect everyone because the losses of crops will affect the price in the supermarkets as if farming isn't hard enough devastating.
Absolutely shocking for farmers everywhere😔
Just down the road from ringstead Joe , fished the river once this winter, millcotton is holding up ok but Barkers , Brightwells the river and backbrook are one .
Very sad indeed
Same where i live by the ouse, fields are now lakes. Looks very similar to this. A few good fisheries that run close to the ouse are going to potentially be ruined or be full of chub and dace!
Very sad times
Top work Joe. Gotta feel for those flooded. Love the piece of music, anyone know what it is?
I’ll find out it is just from a music library I subscribe to
All them carp are off skies
Not good mate, really bad here in Oundle too, worst ive seen it in many many years 😔
I can only imagine what it would be like if they didn’t have that washlands res to slow the water down coming your way!
Very true. They will still be saying there is no water in the reservoirs come summer
The pump water from this River Nene to Rutland Water reservoir so there should be no need for hosepipe bans for a quite a while in the East Midlands.
So that's at least one week of the rod licence validity lost to Mother Nature, again.
Cool footage, but definitely not good for the affected residents / businesses.
I must admit as someone who commits his winter to river fishing this and the impending close season is wearing thin. Just 60odd days left of the season and we haven’t even got started
My local kentish stour is in food but still.with in its banks and no property has been flooded in the Canterbury area
Hosepipe ban next week!
Maybe 😂
