Fish losses could be astronomical with floods this severe. As the rivers recede we all should be on the lookout for stranded fish in left behind pools and safely rescuing what we can. Thanks for the video, Joe.

I will be having a look over the next week with a net to see if I can find anything stranded

Pleased I live where I do. Although we have been getting it bad recently. The old Rivers Authority (EA) used to patrol the rivers and remove vulnerable trees to stop them falling and causing obstructions, they also used to extract gravel to prevent to keep water levels lower.

I feel so sorry for all the people and animals that have been affected by the flooding in the area and hope that those affected have been able to get somewhere safe until the flooding subsides

I feel for anybody affected by it all. The Trent is devastated and some of our family have had to evacuate from the nene valley area.

Sheesh! That's a bit of extra water isn't it! Might need a few netters in the fields as it drops.
Seems we've had a public park or two sprout some large puddles, and some roads across the East Riding, I guess we've dodged the worst of it again up here, for now.

Yes I’m going to have a walk with a net as it recedes as you never know

Really terrible this Joe can't imagine how devastating it is for people having their homes flooded. My family farm around the Wash they've lost acres of potatoes rotting in the ground and winter wheat fields completely ruined. Sadly it will affect everyone because the losses of crops will affect the price in the supermarkets as if farming isn't hard enough devastating.

      Absolutely shocking for farmers everywhere😔

Just down the road from ringstead Joe , fished the river once this winter, millcotton is holding up ok but Barkers , Brightwells the river and backbrook are one .

Same where i live by the ouse, fields are now lakes. Looks very similar to this. A few good fisheries that run close to the ouse are going to potentially be ruined or be full of chub and dace!

The pump water from this River Nene to Rutland Water reservoir so there should be no need for hosepipe bans for a quite a while in the East Midlands.

So that's at least one week of the rod licence validity lost to Mother Nature, again.
Cool footage, but definitely not good for the affected residents / businesses.

I must admit as someone who commits his winter to river fishing this and the impending close season is wearing thin. Just 60odd days left of the season and we haven’t even got started
