    So doing this dry can create micro tears in the skin. It is recommended that you use a face oil (papaya is a good one) when dermaplaining .

    • @thefacialrx7384
      @thefacialrx7384  Год назад +25

      Yes, while doing dry can create microscopic cuts, so can any kind of mechanical exfoliation. It is a personal preference up to each Esthetician on which method they prefer. I personally prefer dry because I get better removal of both skin and hair. I have used both methods, and my clients prefer the dry method. I encourage each person to try both methods and see what works best for you and your clients.

    • @thefacialrx7384
      @thefacialrx7384  Год назад +3

      Unless an improvised blade is something you would only be using on yourself, I would definitely not.
      1. It's unethical if you are doing a professional service and charging professional prices. Clients deserve to get what they are paying for.
      2. Professional blades are designed at certain thicknesses, weights, and angles to prevent an injury to the skin.
      3. It opens you up to all kinds of legal issues. Fines, license suspension , lawsuits, and more.
      Bottom line, use professional products on your clients. They deserve it, just as I am sure you would expect if you yourself were the client.

      I would say most likely not. In my professional opinion, it could make it worse. Since rosacea is an inflammatory condition, it could aggrevate it and cause even more damage. I usually avoid any areas that are inflamed, including active acne pustules.

    • @thefacialrx7384
      @thefacialrx7384  Год назад

      The holders are mostly universal. I got a pack of 3 off Amazon for pretty cheap. Like maybe $20. The blades are the old cliche "you get what you pay for." I use the authentic Dermaplane Pro blades. They are the absolute sharpest and best I have found. I purchase direct from the Dermaplane Pro website. They have several to choose from but I personally get the best results with the Butter Blade #10R. It's about $125 for a pack of 50 but you will recoup that expense with just 1 treatment. You have to register and submit your license to shop, but virtually no hassles.
      Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

      This is like shaving but much closer than regular razors. Always want to go opposite direction of hair growth for closest contact. Hair grows back quickly just like shaving. Wax and threading remove hair at the roots so slower regrowth. It's not better or worse since completely different treatments. It is clients preference. I would absolutely only use this on the face as directed and not other parts of the body.

      @@thefacialrx7384 isnt desincrustation solutions used to desincrustate the skin, or loosen any crust, cellular debris, blackheads used in preparation for extractions???? Thus the name? And the purpose of dermaplaning is to lift up layers of dead skin and vellus hairs? So you’d need alcohol as a prep unless you’re not planning on doing the dry method? So then why desincrustation be a necessary prep for dermaplaning ? Interesting question. Thanks for the vid btw.

    • @thefacialrx7384
      @thefacialrx7384  Год назад

      Excellent question and good points!
      As always, each person should decide for themselves what works best for both them and each individual client. That being said...
      Desincrustation is fine to use if you are doing extractions first. It works more to help loosen debris in the pores but does slightly alter the pH of the skin, making it more susceptible to nicks and sensitivity. Just be extra careful not to plane too heavy-handed if you choose to do any kind of desincrustation or chemical peeling beforehand.
      We are learning new things about the skin every day as technology and science evolve!
      This is an exciting industry, but always trust your professional instincts!
      Thanks for your question!

      If they have larger, more plump lips, have them assist you by tucking the lip under for a few moments while you plane that area.

      Ok I understand. And No it won't. You are essentially "shaving the hair". A hair follicles size, color, and thickness is determined by a person's DNA. That can't and won't change. The only thing that can alter a person's hair growth on the body is by messing with hormone balances. It is an old wives tale that shaving and waxing can change the hair.

      Pigmentation it helps to quickly remove top layers of the pigmented skin. When applied with brightening treatments, it helps to lighten very quickly. Pockmark scars are harder to treat. However, by shaving down those top layers of skin little by little, it will help to minimize the appearance of those as well.

  • @karleeharris6942
    @karleeharris6942 6 месяцев назад

    I'm sorry, but this doesn't get rid of post breakout scaring/marks. Not true at all. It's typically caused by the inflammation from the breakout and hyper production of melanin. It isn't on the surface and exfoliating or shaving isn't going to get rid of it.
