That last campsite was a winner! No need to worry about porcupines shooting quills--they only come off if they get stuck in another poor creature that got too close. Tagging along for a ride. We're still converting our van and need all the inspiration we can get! Sending love from the Philippines!
Thanks and we loved that spot crazy part is the camping just keeps getting better. Every spot is individually beautiful! Best of luck on your Van and we cant wait to see where you travel.
so glad ya'll werent affected by the earthquake. And I would 100% take that last camp spot over an RV spot any day of the week! Gorgeous! I had a big grin on my face with Frank trying to say "booths" - that's awesome! makes me nostalgic for my friends up in the Brooklyn area that I haven't seen in ages.
Thank you so much Mary! We were grateful to be far away from the action of the earth quake and so glad it wasn't anything bigger. We're with you on the camp spots 🏕 we love finding free places in nature too!! You can come hang in our booth anytime Mary 😊 now call your Brooklyn friends! Xo Alex
@@FnAVanLife Living here in So Cal. The most dangerous things about earthquakes are large things falling on you or tsunami if the quake is shallow offshore & you're near shore. Having supplies like food, water, medicine is key. Since you're in a van in open space & you have a good supply of food & water, you're pretty safe. Glad you guys weren't near any large boots.
You two have built something incredible, here. I'm always glad to see a new video posted. I hope you guys stay happy and healthy for a long, long time. Safe travels!
Heck yeah you are going to love it Alex's book has all the places we stayed and all the things we did while in Alaska. We gonna Miss Alaska this summer.
Yes!!! We want to do it but on a day when we have the energy cause the hike is huge!!! You enter from the national park at Exit Glacier - there's the Harding Icefield Trailhead.
I camp for free near the river. It's wooded, private and wonderful. FYI...porcupines cannot shoot their quills. It is a type of hair. You can't shoot your hair, neither can they. 🙂 (My second job is at the Alaska Zoo. I have pet, brushed and hand fed the porcupines without problems. They're adorable, smelly, tree killing rodents!)
LaVerne that sounds amazing!!! Can we come hang out with you in the woods?? Lol 😆 If I were a superhero, maybe hair shooting would be my super power! Lol Porcupines sounds lovely 🤣🤣🤣 can we come visit you at the Zoo??
Yea!! You’ll made it to Seward! That makes me so excited! Thanks so much for the videos, that’s a really epic trip u guys are on, I’m so jealous.. but i still love ya! lol 🍸👍🌎😊 keep up the safe travels..!

Probably some choice hotsprings up there, This side of North America naturally breeds them, if you dig that. Great to be able to keep up with you all !
Hey Bubba! There are less hot springs then you might think. Only one thats maintained, one you have a huge hike out to and then camp, and the rest you can only get to by plane! So thats not happening lol 😆 but its amazing here nonetheless! Xo Alex

Found the rainBow LAKE you camped at!!!! I stumbled on it on Google Earth a photo has the same view of the mountains right next your spot. It's right next to what looks like a man made inflow or out flow to the lake. I some times spend hours finding a location. I have gotten really good at finding places. You can count on me not to spilling the beans!!!!! I did not find the Exit glacier stream side camping but I will ask around when I'm in that area! and I will not share that location too! My data base is getting vast!!! Thanks for the challenges! Love you three!!!! Roger

Should be on iOverlander to be honest! Excited for you to hit the road and see all these places in person!!!! Xo Alex
Wow! More amazing views! I know that one trip up there won't be enough for me. You keep adding stuff to my list. 🤣 Fyi - I've worked with porcupines before and they don't shoot their quills, they frill them up and run at you backwards if you get too close. 🤣 Not too sure that karate chopping mosquitoes is a legit thing either. 🤣 So glad you are having an amazing time. Omg Tio's video was so amazing! We were cracking up the whole time watching it. They are such lovely people ❤❤❤ So glad you love their videos too! Awesome folks 👏 Maggie the mosquites are honestly regular size but plentiful and strong AF 🤣 they can dodge, duck, dip and dive any attack!!! Relentless!!! But still so worth it 👌
5:05 and that's midnight. That's crazy. How much did you feel the earthquake? Did Paco act strange before it happened? Animals always know before we do. That's what they say.
Honestly everything was super normal and chill and no one felt it where we were thankfully. It would be interesting/terrifying to see if he would actually panic if there were a big quake. Hopefully we never find out!
On the coast it was pretttttty cool! Probably in the high 50s during the day and it got down into the 40s at night. Plus I'm a wimp (Alex) and like to bundle lol
