if you believe the niqab can be enforced, then i ask you a question. by your logic we can enforce the 5 pillars of islam too right? bc they are much more important acts of worship than niqab. Why enforce niqab but not enforce salat, sawm, zakat, hajj?? By your logic i can drag my friend to the mosque and force him to pray i can kidnap people and send them to hajj we can starve people and make them fast and we can rob people for zakat. This is why Allah says that there is no compulsion in religion.

I have never heard such a beautiful discussion. This truly makes sense. Quran came as the guidance of mankind. The Islam introduced by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the religion that was supposed to be relevant for eternities. For every era and culture. I just want to thank Dr. Shabir for updating his thoughts openly on Afghanistan, and being humble enough to be open to changing his opinion. Many people today think this is a sign of weakness and double down on their views or words out of insecurity. As an afghan, I witnessed many Muslims cheer on the taliban takeover out of ideological or even nationalistic sentiment. It was one the worst moments I've witnessed as a Muslim to see people glide past the historical atrocities these people committed. So, it was nice to hear someone challenge their reading of the quran. Thank you for covering this topic.
Same here, they killed many afghans and made many widows and orphans and instead of apologizing to them they praised the suicide bombers. It’s sick to see members of the ummah praising the very people who targeted us.

I am Afghan, and it amazes me that the world know so little about the crimes Taliban committed in the name of Islam during their first time ruling. They would force people into prayer. Have watch groups during prayer going around town checking if anyone was on streets or in their shops not attending the mosque. If one was found outside mosque they would get beaten. They would also measure mens’ beard if it was long enough. Men without beard would get punished. Women had to be seen with Mahram outside their home. There were some widows and people without Mahram had to come up with absurd ways having young daughters dress in boy’s clothes to accompany them. Aside from that they could pick any young women and demand their family to grant her for marriage. People I know had to flee in middle of night as a whole family abandoning their home to save their daughter.
As an Afghan living in United States I salute Dr Shabir for his stance against Taliban’s ridiculous decisions. I have many girl relatives that are sitting at home and not attending high school because they are not permitted.
As a muslim i salute you for using your brain capacities to understand the words of god. Well said on 4:47. The Quran clearly states recognized, and the face is how a person is known and recognized. But unfourtenately people with low brain capacities alter that to suit their agenda or subjective tendencies and insecurities. But people like you or imam malik explain the Quran like it is.
It doesn't clearly state that. It might mean they will be known/recognized as Muslim women. If the verse was telling you to mark your cows and the cows will be recognized/known you would have probably concluded it is about the marking that gives recognition. If I said wear this veil, you will be recognized and not molested, the most probable interpretation is that I mean the veil will give you protection.

You're confused because you think there's one right answer.... If it's not in the Quran it's up for you to decide... It was about individual cultural expression in the name of Allah.
Regarding your take on India banning Hijab , you ARE FACTUALLY WRONG! Infact I see a sea of Hijab everywhere I stay and travel in India! The Hijab controversy was of a government run school where there was mandatory school uniform for the students , which a board would implement and the parents would have agreed while admitting their children to that school! India is not Saudi Arabia where even non Muslim women are made to wear the attire of Muslim women! India is a constitutionally bound democratic country and not a theocracy or a goddam Kingdom ! The hearsay regarding the prophet - peace be upon him, continues to corrupt Islam to the whims, desires, and corruption of man. We need to move back toward the Qur'an as the source of truth. The Qur'an instructs women to cover their bosoms, which to one who is able to think critically, simply means to have modesty. Anything outside of women (and men) having general modesty is simply cultural (not of Islam) or additive to the Qur'an (in order to oppress women). May Allah protect and bless Dr. Ally for speaking the truth.
The mother of the believers Aisha r.a. narrated that hijab was to be worn. Asma bint abi Bakr also said that the their faces would be covered in front of men. Muslims follow the Quran, as well as the Sunnah, and according to the sunnah, hijab in its modern sense is required. This is unanimously accepted among Muslim scholars. We don’t do things according to our desires, we do them according to Islam.
"Men are the guardians of women by which Allah has given them some things over others..." "A nation will not succeed if it is ruled by a women" Be careful about taking knowledge from Shabir. What does Islam actually say? If a Muslim ruler takes the position that it is obligatory to cover the face then enforces it then all the people must obey it as it is a valid opinion within Sunni Islam. This new notion of westernisation or modernisation is kufr where they bring new ideologies into Islam. Whether the taliban execute everything correctly is perhaps another question but they are doing a lot better than the west at practicing Islam.

There is no denying the niqab and khimar were features of pagan life, and were Islamicised. Given there is Ikhtilaf on whether or not the niqab is obligatory, neither side can claim to have jumhur on the issue. The great salafi scholar, Sheikh Nasiruddin Al Albani, professor at Madina University, was adamant that the niqab is not wajib. In his book “Jilbab Al Mar’atul Muslimah” he argued this point forcefully.

@@hyawill8944 The words used in here is (Yu'rafna) which means to know a person, this verb can only be used in knowing people it can't be used to identify or atleast it rarely does. If it was the way you said god would have used another word or added the word known as "Muslim women". I thank god for using Arabic for its vast vocabulary and it's ability be super exact, i'm guessing one of the reasons god used Arabic is to be so exact so people like you can't manipulate it.
It is clear as the sun. If you wanna manipulate god's words you will be held accountable in the day of judgement. Woe to those who misinterpret and manipulate the words of god when they're clear. There is no difference between corrupting the Quran via changing words and intrepreting it as you are doing, both lead to the same outcome. When they came near us we would lower our jilbaabs from our heads over our faces, and when they had passed by we would uncover our faces. Narrated by Abu Dawood, 1562.

THANK YOU SIR🤲
Both are very loving persons.
They share lots and lots of love and respect for their listeners. We all have lot to learn from them.
Thank you
The Afghan people have their own scholars , their own Mufti , their own Syura . They have their right to impose what ever law they implemented based on their scholars opinion. To say they are wrong when we never even step our foot on Afghan is not wise .We are giving the message that they are practising the wrong Islam . The whole entire Afghan is wrong and we are right ? We are opening another doors for the other beliefs to slam on the muslims.
Why did you thé whole afghan,as if thé entire populace are in support of thé Law .?
@@olalerelukman9120 There would for sure be people whom support LGBTQ drugs and all sorts of great things. But as we see khurasan has been chosen to preserve what our prophet S.A.W gave us

Hi Dr Shabir
I pray all people could listen carefully to your teachings on Islam. There has been been too much confusion in the way islam is being interpreted. You made it clear and i thank you for that.We are all brothers and sisters
Dr shabir is knowledgeable person and speak clearly about goals of islam
True, this man rejected stone to death punishment for adultery, accepted LGBTQ, etc and he lecturing the Taliban

He quotes ibn Rushd from Al Bidaayah that most scholars, including Abu Hanifah, Malik, Ash Shafi’i and Ahmad, are all of the opinion that the face is not awrah.
Very good explanation, very apt to meaning of Quran. Masha Allah. ❤️

Thank you for explaining. I have a question though. Doesn’t ‘recognise’ mean recognise (through their pious clothing) as a believer, as opposed to an infidel who less protection is afforded by the Quran?

@@R9oskarwell, where it says to cover the face? You can only recognise a person by seeing his/ her face. Not only that, there are other sahih hadiths which clearly says that you can show your face? You can also see jakir naik's video om this topic to know the verses which clearly says, about this.

I am not agreeing with the many things that the Taliban are doing forcefully but am really upset with Dr. Shabir especially him undermining the greatest scholars of Islam. Rasulullah said. "Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to ignorant as their, leaders" (Sahih Muslim). Dr. Shabir may merely qualify to be a student of knowledge; he is nowhere near a scholar, and his words against the scholars in such a petty way are disgusting and shows his ignorance to some extent.
who are you to judge? The beautiful thing about islam is that it always says to think for yourself!

As a result of wearing face masks due to covid, I'm beginning to understand the wisdom of face covering; it really hides your actual look. Makes one less attractive.
Especially when the woman is wearing a lip gloss or lipstick.
Even without it, she looks less attractive in a face mask and same for niqaab.
I'm one who never wore niqab, and who never agreed with those who said woman must wear niqab, my view has now changed post-covid..... I'm now inclined to the ruling that young women should wear niqab, what more if she has adorned herself (with lipstick or gloss)
I ask Allah to guide me in my understanding and all believing people.
Masha Allah!
The discussion is not about whether you can choose to wear niqab. Of course you can. It's about what the Islamic Government should do for those who choose not to wear it.
Jazakallahu khairan katheeran!
