Debt Free Dana ツ animal rights yes!!!! I am vegan and I haven’t seen Blackfish! It’s just so sad and I love that you are raising awareness. I will watch🖤🤍❤️
They need to be free. They do.
OMG! I am obssessed with orcas as well! I have been whale watching dozens of times over the past few years! That is my big treat to myself every year!
Nothing really feels better than having your entire debt erased or fully paid. I was only fortunate to experience it this year and I have vowed not to ever look back. White towels
I light a candle during every meal....even breakfast....a long taper one ....it makes every meal a celebration! Sometimes I turn the lights off.....eat by candlelight!
kindcounselor we do too! We’re Catholic, so we light them when we pray with dinner, but it feels like such a luxury.
That's a beautiful idea.
I love a clean house. Matching sheets, towels nice home cook meal and bake banana bread.
I know this is a year old but same sis I love banana bread lol
Sleeping without an alarm and waking up naturally. It is a luxury every weekend. Also, sleeping in bed with freshly laundered sheets, in freshly laundered pijamas, after a shower. All the scents together make me feel like a millionaire. I also love playing the fireplace show on Netflix while I read a book, hearing all the crackling sounds... in a clean home.
Carol C add some freshly vacuumed carpets with the vacuum lines and it sound like heaven
You can watch fireplaces as reading background ön RUclips for free.
Lol, I watch the fireplace on RUclips, and also the cat and dog TV channels which have sounds and views of birds, wildlife, etc. It will be a blizzard outside, and Springtime in my home

My favorite thing...Saturday evening...House is clean, laundry done, dinner dishes are washing in the dishwasher, shower done, warm jammies, cuddling on the sofa with a fleece blanket, my cats and my kindle...such a wonderful feeling to me...add a cup of cocoa and I'm set...and knowing that I have no commitments on the next day, so sleeping in is in my future.
I pour myself a diet ginger ale in a wine glass and sit on my porch and listen to old French music. This is divine!
How absolutely beautiful! i love this.
I know what I am buying next time I grocery shop...
Love this!

This sounds amazing. 👍
One little box of raspberries -- just for me. I eat them all in one sitting.
This might sound a little silly but I listen to Jazz when im in the shower. It instantly puts me in a good mood and I feel like im at a fancy cafe
I 😍 jazz, might steal this idea!
Sophie Gist me too!
Great idea!
Growing our own fruit and vegetables. And being able to share excess food with our neighbours makes me feel rich.
What makes me feel alive is clothes that fit well and are quality enough to last. I like to just go into my closet and grab something not worrying about how it will look etc. I have very basic clothes that all go together and fit me well. Takes time to find those pieces but it has made mornings so much more enjoyable because I still just throw things on but I look and feel so much better.
My eldest is in college this year and I felt so rich being able to pay for her dorm, and help her with books, and get her car fixed. We didn’t panic, or stressed over these new bills. Just thankful I had the money to help her get a good education.
For me, it’s lighting a long stem candle at meals, drinking sparkling juice or lemonade from a wine glass and frothing milk for my coffee. 🤍
Enjoy the simple things in life and you will always be happy.
When my car is clean it's the best feeling for me!!! Great video!
A clean and organized home! This always makes me feel so accomplished! I don't feel like I have to go shopping after doing that.
Such a great list. I love that most of them have to do with being grateful for things in the everyday: the tea, the morning, the tall glass of water, the clean car and house. So lovely.
I have a seat warmer in my car and absolutely love it!! I love “warming my bones” before I go to work in the winter. My old car didn’t have one and I bought an aftermarket overlay for $20 off of amazon and it was the best money spent. It plugged into my cigarette lighter and basically was a big heating pad. But considering I live in the Pocono mountains and leave for work at 6am...nothing feels better in those cold cold days!!!
I'm so jealous, the poconos are my favorite place 😭
A soak in the bath, face mask, home manicure and pedicure ❤
Being clutter-free!! Definitely!
Oh Yeah!!!!! 👍 A clutter-free home for me, IS LUXURY!
Clean house, made bed, and clean car. Having a budget. A nice steak dinner at home, occasionally. Coffee dates or dinner dates that are budgeted for, those things definitely make me feel rich.
I love moving my furniture around. I feel the same way as you described. Makes me feel like it's a new room.
Dana I really loved this video! And also to the commenters....I absolutely loved to read all your comments! Wow...you all sound like wonderful people! 💖 I can enter into all of them! One thing I recently starting doing was dressing up more! Example .going to grocery shop ...I dress up! U am going to spend hard earned money and so it puts me in a more positive frame of mind just to dress up! 👍🙂
Me too!! I got lost in the comments 😊
I like fresh , crisp clean sheets from the clothes line, warm flannel p.js , thick cotton socks, having a nice long shower with the warm water hitting my back, holding and rocking one of pets like a human baby and just looking into their faces and telling them how much I love them. I like long naps, being up to watch the sun rise, being awake late at night when it's quite . I live in AZ, so summers are brutal, taking a COOL shower with peppermint soap and using gold bond powder after . I love wearing simple jeans and cotton tee shirts, going bare foot. Comfy slippers, watching your videos too.
My grandparents lived through the Great Depression. I looked in my Mama's pantry one day and saw how full it was and made a comment; she said to her a full pantry made her feel rich...
I get my apartment cleaned every six months or so for $75 and it makes me feel rich. My cleaning ladies are like Goddesses to me.
I agree that donating makes me feel wealthy. Earlier in my life, I felt like I always had to sell things I was getting rid of, now most things I know I can generously give away and it feels sooo freeing. Also, just knowing I can give away money or things in general, even if I am not decluttering, reminds me of how blessed I truly am.
Eating salad before the main meal at home feels bougie. I think it just feels like a coursed meal at a restaurant.
I'm opposite! Eating dessert first feels like a luxury.....hahaha. Even though I know I'm not supposed to do, lol
I buy wip cream and powder creamer for my coffee. Feels like starbucks. I have vanilla extracy. Cinnamon. Chocolate powder.
I love all of these ideas! I try to keep my dining table set nicely so I feel like I’m in a “model home” dining room
Yes it’s the simple things in life! I love smelling a rose in my garden. I love when I see bluebirds nesting in the box/house I have for them! Thank you Dana we all need to stay calm and remember the little things and moments!
I agree. Clean home makes me feel great, also making homemade bread or food from scratch makes me feel luxurious and happy. Plus, my partner and I always get grocery store sushi and kombucha! Such a simple treat.
I didn't mention it in my comment but, making homemade food does make me feel luxurious. Satisfaction of the execution is the best. I prefer my cooking over any restaurant.
I love. love. love. Matching sheets! Also a home cooked meal makes me feel rich. It seems like I always like my food better than eating out at restaurants.
My father in law passed away due to cancer a few months ago a very wealthy man that had traveled the world 10 times over. What gave him joy in his last years were hearty soup, no knead breads & a blanket I crocheted for him. I learned to enjoy the little things :)
My parents are still without cell phones. Pretty much unheard of these days. I feel rich when my house is clean and I put myself and kids together and my morning tea/coffee (depends on what I want that day) I grew up with a wood burning stove.
My meal plan makes me feel rich. If my plan extends out 2-3 weeks ahead from food I already have I feel rich. Especially if I get to skip a trip to the store.
Fresh flowers and my google mini playing the sound of the ocean and a fresh made bed!! Love that
This is a fantastic list. My sweet loving kitties cuddled with me makes me feel rich. I could not imagine life without pets nor would I want too. I do most of the things you mentioned and my favorite is getting up at 4:00am drinking coffee when everything is so quiet.
This was a fun video. I liked hearing about things you love. Everyone’s different. Very interesting.
Me too! Perhaps Dana's hubby can share his list in another video? 😊
Hi Dana, what makes me feel luxurious are plain white candles burning in old glass votives or crystal jars that I purchase from the goodwill. It looks beautiful and makes you feel extra special.
The greatest luxury is the gift of time spent doing nothing but relaxing in a beautiful place. So what if you cannot afford to relax on the beach in Hawaii or the Bahamas. Use a vacation day and choose a day during the work week when the weather is pleasant and take a folding chair and a packed lunch to the nearest state park or city park. Find a place to sit where you have a nice view of trees or river or lake or mountains and just sit there. Bring a book or a music device with ear buds if you must. Just relax, breathe the fresh air and enjoy doing absolutely nothing for a day. This is a mini vacation that does not cost you the price of airplane tickets, resort fees, tour guides, excursion fees and hotel room.
I love moving furniture! Simple changes make everything look fresh and new. Great list of frugal luxuries.
A clean smelling hand soap makes me feel luxurious.
Years ago I would go to Burlington coat factory to buy a single$4.00 bar of almond soap. That's still a great luxury feeling for me.
I love Earl grey tea and magazines which I get from the thrift store for 50 cent. I also love candles from bath and body works only if they are on sale and plants. That's what makes me feel fancy lol. Great video!
Some of what you are sharing sounds spiritual to me. That is a special kind of peace. I am a Christian and do some of the same things. I live with an attitude of thankfulness. I am do grateful for do many little basics in life. I feel rich to have running water, heat, my own car, access to many kinds of food, more than enough clothing, etc. I don't need to be rich by worldly terms. I know that I have eternal riches. Thank you for this video. Love reminders of what really matters in the world. I love the song of animals too. I am especially amazed by elephants. They are so sensitive. Yes... I support setting animals free. Great video.
Doing my sinking founds filling my envelopes with money make me feel rich 😀
Yes! Clean house and car...love that
I’ve taught myself how to make a $10 bouquet of grocery store flowers look like a $50 professionally arranged bouquet. I also love to display my flowers in different rose bowls that I’ve found at my favorite antique shop. My flowers add some luxury to my life and they make me and guests that visit my home happy. Btw, I absolutely loved your list!
Amber P What are some of your tips for making a $10 bouquet look like a $50 professional bouquet? ❤️
Kelly lake, I watched a lot of different florists on TouTube that showed how to make different bouquets and then I just practiced. Also, I shopped around looking for affordable fresh flowers. Ingles does 3 small bouquets for $10. Publix does 3 for $12 but also has premium bouquets for $14. U can get 2 dozen roses at Costco for $16.99 and they have bouquets made up between $10 and $14. Trader Joe’s has gorgeous flowers for around $7. I would just pick what I liked and go home and practice. I like short smaller arrangements that r packed full of flowers. Some people like tall vases w/just a handful of long stem roses etc... it’s just a matter of what u like. There’s really no wrong way. It’s what looks good to u. I hope this helps. Good luck!!
P.S.- I live in South Carolina and that’s what the fresh flowers cost in the area that I live in.😃
Amber P 𝐓hank you so much!! I live near Seattle and usually go to Safeway or Fred Meyer grocery stores near me to get fresh cut flowers...thanks for your tips! I’ll check out some You Tube videos too! ❤️🌺
Kelly lake you’re so very welcome! One other tip is that I ask my grocery store what days they get their floral deliveries, so I can get the best selection and purchase the flowers when they r the freshest.
Amber P Thanks, I will do this too. I know one of the gals in floral at my Safeway so I’ll ask her about when they get their deliveries. 😍🌺
Thanks Dana, I too like moving around the furniture, I truly believe all the stagnant energy gets released and we feel better in our space!
Luxury is a visit from my three grown up kids, sharing a meal of warm soup in front of the fireplace with candles everywhere (I am Danish 😉). When I have those three around me I feel so, so rich!
Hej from USA ❤️
Hygge*
We have so many of these in common. Great video. My addition would have to be to relax in the bathtub or even a bubble bath or some sort of a hot soak even if it's just in the shower. I find it renewing.
Matching luxury towels look so nice. That was my best "feel rich" purchase 😁
Nice vid. I like to have high quality chocolate. I agree with you on candles and the fireplace.. my favorite robe is definitely on my list. I also just discovered how good quality shoes can feel also. Something else could be giving yourself a manicure/pedicure. I'm a shower kinda gal , but a bubble bath might be just the thing for those who like them too.
Costco has amazing fleece sheets. It feels so luxurious in winter. So cozy and amazing.
Love that you put the budget on the list totally agree never feel broke again
Awesome list!!! I'm birds... I LOVE to listen to songbirds. And freshly vacuumed carpets and clean floors, oddly "rich" feeling to me. And a made bed (clean yummy sheets is the best), makes my heart happy.
I love having fresh greenery in my house! In the spring I clip small branches and put them in a vase! So pretty and free! Also candles too and up-cycling or dollar tree crafts to make my home beautiful!
Amanda IsAwesome omg girl upcycling is my recent jam lol
I love our wood burning fire place. We have “fire friday” every week and look forward to the luxury of time together in front of a fire I love the smell and sound. I always make some hot cocoa.
Very romantic
Love white towels! I'm slowly changing all my towels. So true. Clean white bedding, white towels and a clean bedroom at night is so nice! The little things in life.
Agree about a nice cup of tea. Sunrise,me time and free time. Good one
Lovely video. 😊 What I think was implicit in most or all of what you said, and worth making explicit, is that being mindful, present, and grateful makes simple things feel special. Along the same lines, daily meditation can feel like a luxury in and of itself, as well as helping to "build the muscle" of being mindful and appreciative throughout the day. Same with journaling (especially if you can splurge on a beautiful journal and nice pen). I think your morning walk/run is probably your form of meditation. 😊
Hi Dana! I loved this video so much. What really makes me feel luxurious is doing my skincare routine at night, essential oils, making my bed, doing my eyebrows, drinking coffee with my warm fuzzy blanket, slippers, fireplaces, and candles. Your video reminds me of things that bring hygge into your life. It’s a Danish lifestyle of simplicity, comfort, family, warmth, and coziness. Things they bring you relaxation and happiness into your life.
I love how you are so passionate and authentic with your videos :)
Using my library card to borrow new books and audiobooks is frugal but gives me access to books that otherwise are quite costly.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I need my home & car spotless & smelling clean. Definitely, matching bed sheets, clean curtains & linings & towels. Also, clean light fixtures & walls, candles or fresh cut flowers in a nice vese. Thanks for sharing, I agree with you on many levels.
😇~Blessings
I love how you focused on the 'small' things - so much of this is appreciation 'in the moment' for simple things. We live in a place that provides us with views of nature - birds, other wildlife, and it feels luxurious to have this in our day to day life.
I put some essential oil drops in my bath, and some basic Epsom salts. Feels like I’m at a spa. I sometimes light candles as well... I’m with you on moving furniture. I always loved it when I’d come home from school and my Mom had rearranged the living room or our bedroom. I still do this now. 🙂 Some rooms have limitations, but others I’m always tweaking. Borrowing things from one room into another. Makes the whole space feel fresh and new.
A beautiful coffee cup with saucer, bath sheets (not towels), and lots of veggies in the fridge. 😁
I love and have most of the stuff on you list. You might not be a millionaire but you are living the good life! 💕
I feel the same way Dana! I get so sad when I see 50 year old Macaw parrots in pet stores, knowing how long they've waited to leave their cage. Free the orcas!
Keesha Rae I agree with you both on the parrots and Dana on the orcas. So sad that they are trapped and not free. Hurts my heart.
For my luxury I go to Goodwill and shop with only $20 bill . I usually find unique things , like a beautiful tea pot to add to my collection or clothing that’s a fraction of the brand new price .
*This is a great list Dana!* 👍
Thanks, for all the excellent ideas...Sometimes, we get so caught up in the daily doings, that we forget to appreciate the small things that bring us great pleasure! 🥰. Keep up the good work!
I’m not in debt (I went bankrupt 5.5 years ago) but I love your videos. I find them very informative, even for those of us not in debt anymore.
Great video, really enjoyed it.
We like a lot of the same things.
Growing food for me feels luxurious. Kings and queens of old typically had private gardens for their households. I know its organic and I feel fantastic when I give away my extra food!
Reading tons of magazines online for free through my library. Buying things I need at the thrift store.
Yes!!!! My dear friend makes Goats Milk Soap from her beautiful goats milk!! When she has a big sale (like $2 a bar and $1 for a rose shaped soap pod) I stock up!! Her soap makes me feel so rich every time I wash my hands and my toddlers hands too 😍 Thanks for the video! It was amazing to see everyone else’s suggestions too!!!
A couple things I would add:
1) good quality bed pillows, whatever that means to you
2) I go to Marshall's (TJ Maxx) and stock up on small containers of beauty products, etc. I love using samples, just trying something new. They often sell face masks, foot masks, hair masks in single pouches for about $1 each. They often have really lux beauty bar soaps that smell divine for a buck or two. Sometimes I will buy a bar and cut into small pieces and place in my clothing drawers. When the smell seems to disappear, just shave a little off the outside to refresh it.
3) I use music to affect my mood. If it's a blizzard and all I want to do is hibernate, then I play Caribbean steel drum music on youtube. It's impossible to have a bad day when you are surrounded by tropical music. Or else, I put on cat and dog TV, which shows videos (sometimes live streams) of the wildlife in forests, at bird feeders, etc, sounds of nature.
If I need to get my butt in gear to clean the house, it's Motown, all the way. Etc - find a music genre you like. Sometimes choose it because it's reflective of what you are experiencing now, othertimes because it can motivate you to do something.
Me, too!!! I love a nice set of clean nice smelling sheets. And yes!!! To the top sheet :)
Purging is my middle name!! I love it. 😄
Great video and love the ideas that all of you posted! Salt lamps and flameless candles/w timers. As it gets dark the candles come on, the salt lamps and candles give the rooms a comforting glow.
A walk around a pretty park ❤
Occasional lilies from Lidl, they smell incredible.
Freshly ground coffee at home.
Quality stationery, I love tomoe river paper and fountain pens.
Lovely candles that are expensive but I appreciate them
Hi Dana, just recently subscribed to your channel and I think it’s great. My go to for feeling rich is to get lost in the forest or beach for hours on end with my dog - peace, quiet and nature is true luxury! P.S I’m a mature marine biology student and couldn’t agree more on leaving Whales in their natural environment...
Yes, agreed- my budget makes me feel rich. Before budgeting, I was always nervous about spending money. Plus, we do a lot of your other similar likes- candles, fire, throw blankets. We have a fireplace and use it in the winter and in the spring thru fall we do fires outside. It’s my husband’s favorite summer evening activity to sit outside by the fire. It’s his daily little unwinding ritual.
Changing the bedding every season makes me feel rich :) I also think the things you mentioned aren't just for getting out of debt. Regardless of our net worth we should always live/do things in moderation.
I'm so with you on the sheets. Quality tea. And definitely budget and sinking funds. I have just cash flowed a weekend holiday because of sinking funds.
Great vlog Dana, with the exception of coconut oil (!) and rearranging furniture i have all the same things on my list as you, even the scarf one (I’m a knitter)! We light the fire & candles, we make a pot of tea and sometimes homemade cake, open the windows and de clutter definitely. Budgeting does make you feel rich x
Donating things is an outward expression that you feel "safe" enough, that these things are not needed. Sometimes I feel guilty during decluttering, but I try to remind myself that there are other people in worse situations than I who would be blessed to have it. And they never will have it if it's stuck in my closet.
But I only donate good, useable stuff, things I would consider even re-giftable. Trash gets thrown away or recycled.
Same here on the sheets. I love when mine come freshly out of the dryer! Hope your daughter is healing more & more! ♡
When I sleep with a top sheet by morning I am clutching the blanket with the sheet kicked to the base of the bed. 😅 Things I do to feel rich, buy cut flowers, typically just a few dollars about once a month, a smelly candle for getting ready for bed time, doing my hobby, and definitely my budget. So much less stress now that is in my life!
Dana, great video! I think that often, things we've grown to take for granted are really things that if reflected upon, are actually luxuries that inspire gratitude. btw, you mentioned candles, and every morning, I light a plain, unscented votive in a large holder (I get them inexpensively at a discount store) and write in my journal describing the weather, what I want to accomplish and any new progress I'm making with training my new puppy. It's a comforting kind of ritual and I enjoy watching him play while I sip on my (organic) coffee or tea. Small pleasures add up.
Thank you, sometimes i forget these things!!😊
Yes so many of these I feel the same way about. Thanks for reminding me how many great things we have all around us.
Great video! I just did a video on tips for making it on one income, and I was going to do something similar as a part 2. Being frugal doesn’t mean having nothing!
I agree with you on having little luxuries. It does make you feel great. You love to listen to the whales, for me it’s the Loons that I love to listen to. I am lucky enough to have friends who have a camp on a pond in Maine and listening to the Loons call back and forth to one another is so relaxing.
You are wonderful!! Thank you for being you, and for sharing with us. What a blessing you are! 🙏🏻☺️🌸
I never had a top sheet until I read how much cleaner it keeps the blanket/duvet. Now I always use my top sheet, and it makes me feel like I'm at a hotel lol
Along with matching sheets, I would add a made bed, all tucked and ready for bedtime. I actually don't make my bed often, but when I do, I feel really fancy, and the room looks better! I should do it more often! ;)
I seriously love that you're feeling all this and never do the things, I do that too! 🤣 I'm skeeving hotels lately myself but home luxuries make up for it!
I think anything done with intention can feel luxurious, if that makes sense. Love how you mentioned sitting with family at the table and drinking tea. Intentional "slow" time spent with family - not silent zombies all staring at a massive $$$ TV. Funny how simple free things can feel more fancy than things that actually cost a lot of money! Even sitting and intentionally reading a book (not at bedtime!) feels luxurios to me. Or like you said, going for a morning walk - no destination, just walking for the sake of walking - I'd like to incorporate that. :)
I love to cook at home and then use our fancy China to eat it on at the table with candles, like we’re in an a little Italian bistro.
