  • @byebye9785
    @byebye9785 6 лет назад +3

    Almost, it'd be fine for blowing cool air at your face, but you need to duct the warm air outside to achieve room cooling and collect and dispose of condensate to reduce uncomfortable humidity.
    As it stands, you're just slightly heating the room up.
    If you're after ductless air conditioning, with something so small you could probably use water heat exchangers and dump the heat into a domestic hot water tank. The downside is you'd have to collect and store/drain condensate rather than evaporate it on the heat sink and blow it out the exhaust.
    Peltiers are cool (no pun intended), but there are also other possibilities for home made air conditioners, such as stirling coolers or turbo expanders.

    One way to improve the efficiency of the Peltiers is to make water blocks and place them on the hot side. Then add a water tank and pump and make a radiator using copper tubing to take out the heat. Put the tank, pump and radiator in your own realistic condenser unit!

  • @degu44
    @degu44 4 года назад +6

    An excellent project However I noticed 4x 6 amp peltiers (total 24 amp) and the power supply looks to be to 10 amp?
    Where is the temperature sensor placed to get those readings?
    The heat exhaust is venting in to the top of the box and the small air holes would be insufficient to move the volume of air the fans need. So it would become hot and ineffective.

    • @slendgamer895
      @slendgamer895 4 года назад +1

      It would be ineffective even if it had bigger cooling holes because the hot air stays inside his room and considering that a peltier cooler always creates more heat than cool air due to inefficency of converting the electric energy entirely into the heat exchanging process, it actually heats up your room. This is a scam.

  • @HameedBangash
    @HameedBangash 5 лет назад +3

    AC ca be made using peltier, 100% possible but would require 56 peltier (12706) surface conduction area approximately 200 square inches , its performance will meet 2 Ton AC.
    01 (12706) peltier takes 3.5 amp . 56 will take 196 Amp 56*3.5=196*12v=2352 watts and 200 Watts for blowers, total load 2552 Watts. However thermal insulation is critical point.
    it will obviously save energy with smart and quite design, no noise, no starting heavy current, no motor induction losses and no wear parts. it will roughly cost 250$ in Pakistan, India and bangladesh

  • @slendgamer895
    @slendgamer895 4 года назад +7

    Your Air Conditioner is useless unless you channel the hot air outside of your room. A peltier cooler has a pretty low efficiency which means the electricity you put in it can only exchange some of the heat on the one side to the other, the excess electricity is converted to thermal energy on the hot side, which means it actually heats up your room rather than cools it. Yes, it shows a lower temperature on the thermometer, but thats only because it measures the temp locally in the unit. If you would measure in the room, the temp would rise over time.

  • @mcaddc
    @mcaddc 5 лет назад +4

    The design as shown in this video is faulty. The top fans are blowing downwards on the hot side of the peltier. There is no escape for the hot air, so it will just cancel out the cold air coming into the room. The hot air must be evacuated if there is to be any sort of real cooling. With a few mods, this will work as a great tent air-conditioner for a tent while camping, using solar power, batteries & a small generator. I would use a few more peltiers and duct tube to vent the hot side gasses to the outside.

  • @nathang.1744

    this idea would be better for refrigerator as pelitier modules don’t remove enough btus to cool a room.. a 5000 btu is what you need to cool a small room and for this you’d maybe get 70-80 btus if you found a way to vent the exhaust out which is good for a spot cooler but for the price of building something like this might as well buy a room air conditioner.. i’d like to see this in portable refrigeration.

    Matter neither can be created not destroyed, heat is matter, this means that you need to remove the heat from the room to the outside and this process eventually will make the room lower its temperature 🤒. In the US you can go to any store and get a 5,000 BTUs A/C window unit as cheap as $80.00 dollars. Don’t waist your money or time in this garbage 🗑, there is not way this contraction is gonna work when you have both cycles repeatedly in the same area , heat and cold continuously.

    A Peltier element is very inefficient and dissipates more heat than it absorbs. Unless you have an effective way to exhaust the hot air, you are creating a cold spot and heating the whole room. Also, the power required to operate a Peltier element is ridiculous, relative to the cooling it provides. For those who don't know this, look at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling

    Pointless when you are generating heat as well (equal and opposite reaction).

    People this is an absolute fake ,he's not channeling the heat anywhere,the room is a closed system infact this so called airconditioner is adding heat because of the working friction of the fans and other heat decipation of other components. Yet the thermometer reads temperature drops 😂🤣

    So where does the heat go from the peltierelement? It will be zero effective. Produces exactly as much heat as cooling unfortenately.

    How can this make the air cooler if there is still hot air from the one side of the pielter chip .
    To my understanding if a pielter chip has one side cold and the other side hot the room won't cool much or at all . Best bet is to take a 1 litre soda bottle . Cut a hole and place a pc fan at the bottom side . Cut the top of the bottle off about 3 quarters up . Put a mess in the middle center of bottle and place ice cubes on the mess , and a curving pipe at the top . The science behind it is that the warm air comes in by the pc fan on the bottom side of bottle . And it travels up past the mess ice cubes and cool air comes out by the top curved pipe . Cold water will start dripping from the ice cubes on to the bottom of bottle . Simply tilt the cold water into a toilet after ice cubes have melted , and place more cubes . A great mini air cooler that can be used over and over , just as long as you have stocked up ice cubes .

    A huge mistake, the heat sinks must be outside the room, or this whole setup won't do a thing, just heat the cold air.

      Beekibye hello, if i put the part of hot air outside the room, it works? Please answer

    • @DashzRight
      @DashzRight 6 лет назад

      Yes it does. Usually this system is placed in a window opened a little bit and using some foam as an insulator and support for the hot side of the device (the heatsinks and fans.)

    • @BaterieCZ
      @BaterieCZ 6 лет назад

      Beekibye Best idea what i've seen so far is to place water-block on warm side and use pc radiator to remove heat from system outside of room.

    • @DashzRight
      @DashzRight 6 лет назад

      Baterka thats effective only issue is that the water block will melt very fast, (the hot side gets very hot)
