Being in the same gardening YT niche, it's important to note that Kevin is a trusted source within our gardening community. He not only created excellent content, but promoted successful collaborations and support for others. When his products were launched it was easy for the YT gardening community to jump onboard and validate his offerings. Many gardeners have benefitted from his enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience and we are happy to support his new endeavors.
Being in the same YT niche and knowing Kevin’s channel well, it’s worth noting that this isn’t a fast/easy success story. Kevin has been working away on his channel for years and had already built a popular and successful channel where his viewers trusted him long before he started selling and even then it was time before he got to the point he is now. Hard work and skills all the way 😊
Being in the gardening niche myself, I just want to thank you for this video, Ed. This is the first time I've seen a YT guru taking the time to address this niche, and Kevin from Epic Gardening is a perfect example of someone who is a businessman and not only a YT creator. Thanks for all you do and for yet another video that fires up the motivation and gets the wheels spinning with ideas!
What I got from your interview is the importance of honing in on a specific niche and becoming an expert in it. How do you balance content creation and business management, and any tips for aspiring RUclipsrs aiming for similar success?
Either build a team to focus on different elements or focus on one at a time. Right now im focusing on building a new product. After that I will focus on rebuilding an existing one, then Jan 2024 ill aim to focus more heavily on content production on Film Booth/Creator booth
The video showcasing a niche RUclipsr making $30,000,000/year is incredible because it highlights the potential and diversity of opportunities in the digital world. Thanks for having this kind of story, like it!
I love this video! Choosing a niche for You tube is quite complicated because it has a great impact in the success of your account. I'm sure this video is a great help for beginners & experienced content creators who are struggling to earn some substantial income.
I work full time, and find it hard to keep the up the motivation to sit down and work on my channel. But all it takes is one of Ed's videos to give me my mojo back! This was a great interview. Thanks Ed and Kevin!💚
Honored to chat with you Ed - have watched nearly all of your videos on both channels. Hope you all enjoy the convo! P.S. This is my personal channel, which will be launched soon :)
While watching this I realized that this is the best marketing class I have watched and how connection/network building is working. thank you very much.
Thanks Kevin for talking about creators spreading themselves too thin (and thanks to Ed for including that in the edit!) It a topic I’m currently struggling with right now and it’s nice to have a creator I admire pinpoint that problem. My problem is, I have too many ideas and struggle to choose a focus! 🥴
This is the first time I have seen one of these videos about my niche, so happy to see this! Great work Ed, and also thank you to Kevin for awesome videos and helping the gardening community as much as he does! I'm going to echo what a couple of others have said.. Kevin has been around a very long time and has put in the work the entire way to where he is. It didn't happen overnight but it is definitely inspiring for someone like me with a relatively small channel talking about similar things to see those numbers. If I could make 1% of that income it would be life changing. It's a marathon, so hopefully in 10 years I can be on a channel with a similar story!
Fantastic video. I love these honest deep-dives. Can you do struggling videos too? Just for fun. Not sure if it will boost your numbers but... at what point are you just a wild success and you can help us wee folk with more than brilliant talkies with your handsome mug (no offence to your daily coffee)?
@@creator-booth Struggling = 'did 300+ videos / still under 2k subs'... pick one that listens to you, do a makeover and... see what happens? I'd love to know!
Always loving your teachings Ed 🙏🏽 I’m bingeing a few of these recent vids about selling a product and wanted to lean into your community to ask anyone about what a product could be, that a perfume review channel could work towards making once the channel was established and lots of content made? Any thoughts from anyone would be so appreciated ❤
I’ve been following Epic Gardening for years, he’s a very successful gardener too. It’s only now we from the gardening niche see how far and wide his “genius” goes.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 6 months ago about self development. Now I have 483 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
@@kevinmespiritu I sincerely appreciate such kind words! When I was a kid, all I wanted was to have a career that pays well so I can buy whatever I want but now that I’m grown up and went through tons of setbacks from losing tons of people in my life, getting lost in the world with full of life traps, being ridiculed for pursuing my dreams, and so on, I can say that long-lasting happiness can’t be bought or earned because it comes from within us. Continue to grow as a person, and I’m so glad that you’re part of this journey!
I had to laugh when RUclips sent my phone a notification for your video, Ed, and then Kevin's coffee video an hour or so later. 😂 Really appreciate getting his take. Thanks for all you do, Ed.
@@creator-booth I just came back here after watching that video and didn't realize that you've replied already. Thanks a bunch for the dope information man!! Fun fact: I managed to get two guests for my employer RUclips channel after watching that video 🔥
This was a fantastic interview, thanks Ed for putting it together & Kevin for being so willing to share his experiences. Epic Gardening was one of the reasons I got absolutely /hooked/ on urban gardening and eventually growing & collecting tropical plants during the pandemic. I still watch almost all of Kevin's content (as well as his co-host, Jacques!) regularly. Their quality bar and production levels are getting higher and higher, which is awesome to see, and the insights into building out the product arm of his business were super helpful to hear. This interview - as well as the one he did recently with Jay Clouse of Creator Science - are both reinforcing my decision to get into the gardening/plant RUclips space, as well. Thanks again for posting this!
A good example of a course creator that partners with recognized experts is Brett Papa. He has a video studio in Nashville and brings in great guitarists to create courses. Not sure what the revenue split is but it’s a cool model for sure.
