We call it rhurbarb sauce. Kids love it too
Love rhubarb. I have a freezer full of it!
Haha I don't need Cinderella and the fairies to prep and cook for me. I really enjoy that. I need them to show up AFTER , to clean up. I'm such a messy cook. lol
Oh my goodness Luanne, you and me both. Clean-up is my least favourite part. Although sometimes when we do our big mega meal marathons, Christie and I do have our very own clean up fairy in my mom… she is the best and it helps so much!
Learned something new! Thanks!
You're welcome!
The rhubarb (plotz?) pie sounds rather like a Bakewell Tart. Yummy idea, I'll be watching out for the recipe.
I love rhubarb muffins - especially with some ginger! Roasted rhubarb is delicious too. A little rhubarb also works well in dahl or other savoury dishes as a substitute for the sour taste of tamarind.
Loved to see you wielding the knife as you gardened, I used to do the same to trim leeks, and rhubarb.
My mom adds cinnamon and sugar when stewing rhubarb and we eat it just like that. My cousin used to eat it raw with salt on it....I never tried it that way because it just sounded wrong to me but she and her siblings loved it that way.
The cinnamon and sugar version sounds delish... the salt one I'm not so sure of, but maybe it's something I should try.
We used to eat it raw as a kid. Sometimes with a sugar dish for dipping. :)
That sounds so fun!
I have never had rhubarb! I always thought it would be close to a beet so I steered away!
You should give it a try! It tastes nothing like beets. It has a texture similar to celery and it's extremely tart so really, it's best if you add sugar in some way.
@@FreezerMeals101 as you were cutting it, I thought it looked similar to to celery. I guess the color threw me off. I will give it a try!
Random Question of the Day… is Christie tall or Sharla short? Or both? 🤗 you both are beautiful!
🤣 Both!
