    One of the absolute best kitchen tools ever created is a vacuum sealer. And as a plus, there are jar attachments that will seal mason/ball jars after removing all of the air!

    I don't have alot of freezer space, so I would like to cook and stew the rhubarb and then freeze it in ziploc bags and just pull out what I need - have you ever tried this method - thx

      Yes, stewed rhubarb freezes nicely. I would freeze in portion sizes that are convenient to use at one time. So two or three smaller bags vs one giant bag. Enjoy!

    Is rhubarb poisonous when it is seeding out??

    • @GettyStewart
      @GettyStewart  2 года назад +1

      No. Do not eat the seed stalk or leaves any time, but stalks are safe all year round. But don’t pick too much after it’s gone to seed because the plant won’t produce as many new stalks. At least 2/3 of the plant should be left to ensure it can survive the winter.

      Also, do not eat stalks if they have been hit by frost and/or don’t look plump and healthy

      @@GettyStewart Thank you very much!! I knew about about not eating stalks that has froze. I know leaves are poisonous as well.
