COBRA KAI takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Season 4 finds the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament... and whoever loses must hang up their gi. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?

We agree that they are real and complex. There isn't a traditional “bad guy” or “good guy.” Every character (and each dojo) has flaws, as well as strengths. Cobra Kai, while a drama, also doesn't take itself too seriously, so the vibe is lighter and even comedic at times. This brings a wonderful balance to the show.😄😄😄

I expected nothing from this show, thinking it will be another nostalgic cash grab. After the first two seasons I was hooked and now I'm such a big fan of it. The writing team behind this show set an example of how to take an old franchise and bring it to a new era by respecting the past, respecting original characters and introducing new exciting characters. Hollywood should seriously takes notes from it.

The fights are more unrealistic. The fight between Daniel and Chozen in the 2nd movie is so good and better anything this show did. And the montage on the tournament in the first movie is better.

I hope so. Show’s starting to become the Sam and Tory show. Which I wouldn’t have a problem if it had started being about them. But the show started off being about Johnny and Miguel and some of Robby.

@Kayoss 13212 This show is about everybody. It's called an ensemble cast for a reason. Everyone has a storyline. Everyone has character development. And every character deserves to be fleshed out; not just your personal favorite.
It’s nice to see William and Ralph proud and happy to watch the younger cast now. It’s like they passed on the torch to them
🥲 🥲 super glad they are producers of this show. There was always talks about reboots and reunions and what not but Ralph wasn’t having it. He didn’t think that’s be great - however he’s fully on board with this. Excellent!!
The best thing about this show is that every character has their own arc. Any character has been a good guy and bad guy depending on the circumstances. The person you had empathized earlier can become someone you learn to hate, and vice versa. It's all about the choices they make. Such a great show. This is a masterclass in character study.
Agreed. Someone like Robby and Hawk made us change how we viewed them as the series went on. Even Sam went from a likable person to an unlikable one this season

The fights in this season were absolutely amazing. Robbie VS Eli was the best fight I've seen in years. The movements, the music, even the look in their eyes: perfection.

That Eli/Robby fight was just brilliant.
IMO Eli vs Robbie was the best 1vs1 fight of the entire show! Hawk is my favorite Cobra Kai character! Iam so happy he won the All Valley tournament!
Terry Silver absolutely murdered this role! At first I was like " Come on, hes not a bad guy", boy did he take this role and make it something OUTSTANDING!
Can we just take a second to appreciate how insane and amazing the cast and crew for this show is? Like my god, they always deliver the best that they can.
The writing, acting, character development and fight choreography in Cobra Kai is so good and continues to improve each season. Characters are morally grey which makes it so much more interesting and easier to invest in the story.
It can be a little cheesy at times but it’s tasteful and is nostalgia and fan service done right. This show deserves all the praise it gets.
The kids got ripped. Especially the dudes who played Robby and Eli.

This show has put its hooks in me hard-core. This is the best invention of a property I've seen in a long time. The writers and producers deserve high praise and reward. I love this story and I love that I've grown up with these characters.

Hopefully we'll get at least a spinoff series which has been a pet project of KK creator Robert Mark Kamen to dive further into the history of the "Miyagi-verse" by either tackling Mr. Miyagi's youth with his friendship and rivalry with Sato and his years during WW2 when he met Julie Pierce's grandfather. Shimpo Miyagi-sensei's adventures in China could also be explored and we'd also get a good history lesson on Chinese martial arts (specifically Fujian white crane kung fu) and culture/relations influencing the Okinawan fighting arts. Of course, this is an unpopular opinion but since we all know that Shimpo Miyagi's wife is Chinese, maybe (with the blessing of Robert Mark Kamen and some really spectacularly beautiful scriptwriting magic with no plotholes) Mr. Han of the KFK could be a maternal descendant? Since Kreese is going to get a redemption story and now we know he wasn't always a bad person, looks like we could get a spinoff series from that story arc as well like that 1980s TV series Tour of Duty (which will probably fuse the fighting styles of Cobra Kai and the Vietnamese fighting arts), which will also showcase Vietnamese culture/traditions.

Just in case Netflix does produce a Kreese-centered spinoff series of Cobra Kai, I also hope it has the production values of a Rambo movie (hopefully not with over-the-top Michael Bay-level explosions).

@@CJ-nu7dp With consistently good scriptwriting, production values, acting and martial arts choreography, no, they won't (case in point the likes of Frasier, Law & Order: SVU and Better Call Saul). The producers (who ARE mega-fans of the OG KK films) have already considered the possibility of spinoff shows and CK is technically a spinoff sequel of the main KK movies.
I was born in 1984 and grew up watching The Karate Kid movies over and over. I’ve also watched Cobra Kai over and over, 😄 and I still bought the recent limited edition 4K 3-movie set. I’m so glad the series exists with old beloved characters and new, it goes beyond our wildest dreams. 👊🏻

I absolutely LOVE how Cobra Kai has brought the brilliance that were the Karate Kid movies & how much those films meant to so many people - like myself - growing up. It's great to see the characters from the original films and how they've developed the initial storyline and history of KK from all those years ago!
The flashback moment where Mr. Miyagi and Daniel were planting the trees gave me chills. It tied into the mixed dojo direction of this season perfectly. I bet whatever writer thought of that connection got back pats all around!
started watching when this was a RUclips show. it's amazing how each season gets better, I loooved karate kid as a kid, and this is a perfect continuation.

EXPECTING SEASON 5 IN A FEW MONTHS YOU ALREADY KNOW!
The fact that William Zabka wanted to perform his own stunts is the same idea for Willem Dafoe when he came back to do Spider-Man No Way Home as Green Goblin. He wanted to do his own stunts and moves.
Love how in the last two season they went with big group fights and now they changed gear to feature one on one fights. It really allows each actor to show off some sick moves and for their characters to show their development and rivalries. They keep getting better and better and haven't stagnated at all with the show. Cant wait for season 5
Season 4 was AMAZING, it was equally good as the first one. Please keep this show alive and keep this level of writing and production.

I think they took the Miguel daddy thing because the actor for Miguel xolo was cast as live action blue beetle and good news Miguel wasn’t used this season as much because it was a Tory Sam season with Robby the writers aren’t dumb they know what we want next season is gonna be a Miguel Tory Robby season mark my words they are gonna be the main focus of the season and I guess some highlights of Sam

While waiting out the snow storm, I sat down to see what the fuss was about the show was. Growing up and seeing the original trilogy I had little hope for the show. Wow I was mistaken. The show is showing such respect for the old while charting a new legacy. Hope there is a season 5 and they some how weave Hilary Swank into the plot.
