Your video backlog is keeping me company while I'm stuck at work (thank you!) and hearing you talk about not wearing red at weddings, I can't keep myself from saying the reason my best friend's very superstitious family told me, which is that wearing red is a backhanded way to symbolize you're the groom's mistress. I just find this idea so old-fashioned catty that it's hilarious to me.
Yes, I think that was it too! Like red is too bold of a color so it's eye catching/attention grabbing or indicative of sexual promiscuity (ffs). Have a better time at work!
You're not too old! I just turned 35 and we have multiple members in my comm that are 35+! I find it's easier actually, because typically you're more established in well-paying careers, more stable in your living situation, and at that point you just stop giving a crap what anyone thinks 😂 i highly recommend trying it out, if only in small ways.
I have sooooo many rose rings (and some rose earrings) just because they are so good for gothic and classic lolita and I know it's easy to find those accessories XD But yeah I agree I look up "lolita necklace, lolita bracelet, lolita ring" or whatever on taobao and MOST of what shows up is for sweet, which I ALSO wear but it's like PULEASE can you give me something different. Thankfully taobao has a lot of different classic options for headwear, from what I've seen, especially flower headbands, hats and bonnets. The STRUGGLE for getting ivory colored socks off of taobao is real though. Now if you are wondering why I'm mentioning taobao so much, it's because beyond a rare purchase from Japan, this is primarily where I get my lolita from as I live in China.
Awesome video! I love all your hat maintenance tips! I love sweet mildred but im terrified of those resin rose earrings because im afraid of them rotting due to the humidity in my area or crumbling and breaking like yours did.
Hey! So it's been almost a year, and while I haven't worn them often, i will say my earrings are still holding up, even the one I had to glue back together :)
I know this is an older video, but you're not meant to wear the elastic of hats under your chin, it's to put under your bun/updo at you neck to hold the hat in place! It's surprisingly snug way of getting your hat to stay put without hat needles (I often sew in additional wig clips for extra security for heavier/wind-toss-prone hats) 😆
