You could honstly cut the number of wolves significantly. So many of them were doing nothing because they couldn't reach the warden in the first place, and if you're tanking all of his shots with your shield, you aren't going to be losing many either. If the Warden isn't killing them, you could probably get away with a much more reasomable 10-15 wolves. Throw in a splash potion of strength and speed for the best effect. Without you tanking, that number increases drastically, as the Warden will start using its melee attack, which is much faster. You'll likely have to bring 30-35 to be on the safe side.
You can aproach him and hold with unbreakable enchantment shield while the wolfs do the job, just don't run from him because his hyperssonic atack can oneshot you without full armor and golden apple
