You're doing great! I go through phases where I like weighing daily and where I don't. It's good to be mindful of how it makes you feel. Glad things worked out at your parents' house--sorry the way home was so difficult! I find if I have snacks in the car for "just in case," I always eat them, no matter what! Lol. Now I know not to do that. I'd rather be hungry, and drink water. And finally, glad you're feeling good where you are, but hold on to your butt--there's so much more to come!!
Exactly! I can see how some people might find it upsetting, but right now I think it's better for my mental state to see exactly what my body is doing. :)
I understand what you are saying about daily weighing. I used to be a daily weigher and I think it kept me on track and I liked it a lot. Now that I am one year out, I am no longer weighing daily but that is really because I know I'm not losing the way I was before.
I still weigh daily. It doesn’t effect my day or mood so I don’t see it as a bad thing. I’m definitely a stress eater. It’s still an issue for me to actually deal with stress a better way. I’m hoping I learn to love to workout as stress relief. It’s so great that you can enjoy your body along the way! So important to be ok with ourselves at all stages of this journey!!! I think it helps motivate us to keep going ❤️
Yeah, I think there are so many people that are affected by the daily fluctuations that there's this idea out there that it's bad for *everyone* but I'm definitely learning that isn't the case for me. I like data and knowing where I'm at. :) Yes, figuring out better stress coping mechanisms is definitely something I need to figure out. I'd LOVE for exercise to help with that, though I'd have to, you know, actually exercise for that work...LOL
Foodie turned sleevie recommended you on her YT channel. So I started watching all oof your videos in order of older to newer. You are amazing! We have very similar stats so it was nice to finally find someone who started their journey in the 350’s. Im just waiting for my surgery call after 6 months of jumping hoops. Your comment about fat girls have great personalities and a pretty face was hilarious! I relate to you so much, you are so funny, and can’t wait to keep watching to catch up to present. Thank you for being consistent in your video making even now a couple years later!
I am and always will be a daily weigher. It keeps me accountable. And maybe it's obsessive, who knows. But it's a thing I do. I also chew gum to keep me from mindlessly snacking.
I felt the way you feel about weighing every day, weekly. I needed to understand the why of my weight and I could not without my weekly weigh in. Busy times girl!
Yes! I definitely need the feedback of my weight. Given that I went to such drastic surgical measures to help me get the weight off, I want to see how I'm doing with that goal! :D
Oh, exciting! It's always fun to find more Washingtonians! Where at are you, if you don't mind me asking? LOL, I am so glad I'm not the only one with the squishy fat! That's such an apt term for it. It's so bizarre!
Enjoy all those changes! They are so exciting 😊 I feel you big time on the stress eating! I say use whatever non-self-destructive means that works for you. Thank you Jesus for mint gum! And driving thru snow is one of my least favorite things - yikes! Always enjoy you! Love you, girl! 💕😊
I’m sure you’re not imagining that your belly is getting looser 😊 when I was/am losing weight that’s one of the first places/ things I notice. Working out doesn’t sound fun for most of us. You don’t actually usually want to do it till you get into a habit of it, and even then a lot of the time you do it because it helps, not because it’s something you really want to do. That’s my experience anyway. I don’t love working out but I feel better when I do it. I have to do things that sound appealing to me though, like walking outside and listening to music or doing little workouts with my kettle bell. Once you find the exercise thing that you enjoy it’s easier to get into it. Also, I have a RUclips channel (under this name) if you want to check it out. Keep up the good work! 😊
Haha, glad to know the loose belly thing isn't totally in my head! :) Yeah, I know I just need to get into the habit of working out. I've never been somebody who loved exercise, but I always feel better when I go regularly. I was able to convince my roommate to do morning workouts with me in March, so hopefully that bit of accountability will help me get the momentum I need. And thanks for letting me know about your channel! I'll add it to my watch list! :D
What a great update!! I could relate to so many of your thought processes... especially the part where you said that you like yourself at this weight & wondering if this was your "normal" weight that you may not have thought you needed to have WLS. :) Keep enjoying and celebrating all of the changes... it will make the process more enjoyable! After tax season is over and life slows down a bit, would you ever want to meet up for coffee?
Thanks so much! Yes, I've been wondering about that a lot lately, as I've been feeling really good about how I look lately even though I've definitely got a lot more weight to lose! I definitely want to stay mindful of all the positive changes that are happening, as I know it can be far too easy to pick things apart and focus on the less-than-perfect. And yes, absolutely! I'd love to meet for coffee when you're life is a little less crazy with tax season!
You are doing great. Some weeks slow down and that's okay. Your body needs time to adjust. Besides, pre-surgery, we would have been ecstatic over 1.7 lbs. Bet your step-mom and sister-in-law ate more than you did even if their diet was stricter. Most who know me and work with me know I've had surgery and everyone has been super supportive. What is odd is people who don't know and haven't seen me for awhile. I can see the "you look familiar" and then they realize who I am but then say nothing about the weight loss and I know 108 lbs is very noticeable. I think a lot of people are afraid to say something. Or maybe I've yo-yoed for so long they expect me to regain?
Thanks! And yes, they definitely ate a lot more food than I did, and a lot more carbs as well since they were eating fruit and sweet potatoes. I've been lucky in that everybody who knows about the surgery has been super supportive, and I actually appreciate that they don't constantly bring up my weight loss. Yeah, that's interesting about the people who haven't seen you in awhile, but they probably are just trying to be polite by not mentioning it. :D

Foodie Turned Sleevie thank you! Yeah, I am definitely going to try and avoid having too many snacks with me on long car rides for that exact reason!
Awesome progress!
Thanks!
I'm another daily weigher. I like seeing the fluctuations during the week, too!

HelloVsg2016 yeah, I definitely feel like daily weighing is the way to go for me at this point!

Hello and welcome! Thank you so much and good luck to you!

Survive.Sleeve.Slay. yeah, I think daily weighing is going to be a thing for me as well!

I didn't know you were in Washington! Me too! You're not imagining the jiggly fat! I call it squishy fat! Even my husband has noticed.
Oh, exciting! It's always fun to find more Washingtonians! Where at are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, stress eating is so real! Mint gum is the real MVP! :D
I think I tagged you for that sds!
Survive.Sleeve.Slay. yup! :)
I chew a lot of gum. It’s basically a transfer addiction/coping mechanism. 😊
Haha, yeah, I think the gum thing is going to be here to stay!
I chew gum too . My fave is Trident white spearmint. ❤️
Nice! I'm a big fan of the Orbit Winter Mint. :D
