I need help I need fine wood planks for the blacksmithing workbench I have fine wood beams but when I go into my chopping block the beams are the only fine wood I can craft I’m so confused I’m level 7 carpentry
@kswat3853 Hey, it shows it unlocking at 7, but the craft is a higher level craft... if you don't see it at 7, maybe try to relog and then push a couple more levels and see if it pops up at each one? Or ask a neighbor if you can trade them some heartwood for planks? I spammed my carpentry up quickly and didn't notice when that recipe popped up on the block. Worth noting when it does, so we can get the database changed if it's incorrect on the proper level it shows up.
get the wrought iron axe, it will let you chop down the big trees that give you around 30 heartwood and sapwood each so you can farm materials to craft the fine mats. You'll never get enough heartwood with the iron axe, you could fill half your inv with sapwood and only end up with like 10 heartwood

better do Long Fine Wood Stock from lvl 17 to 23 imo instead of fine wooden planks to 19, coz its 5 mats not 10, you double craft amount (even if moderate difficulty, you win for long amount craft, not much fail, you just have to succeed 1/2 to win more than very easy difficulty, that is literraly doable and much more efficient) and for confort (personnal opinion) switch to Short fine wood stock when it is moderate (at 20), for storage preference (as it stack per 50 instead of 10)

Cut larger trees with this or better axe and the ratio is much much better. Trade for the axe.

You need the Carpenter's Tools from the Basic Carpentry Bench. Unlocks at Level 7
