#2 is the PIT I've fallen into. Books books and more books. Apps upon apps. Websites, Podcasts, RUclips videos. Wow, it's all so overwhelming. I've finally decided to settle one program that seems to be well structured and a plan to go from one step to another. Thank you for having this in the video. It's so true. I know I've spent close to $100 in books/apps so far and still I've not gotten anywhere.
Take comfort from the fact that we are the targets of a large language-learning marketing industry that works hard to convince us to we need their resource, even though it overlaps with 10 of the other resources we own. :) Stay tuned. Like, subscribe, and share
Oh, my gosh, the part about drowning in a sea of too many resources! I can't tell you how that has crippled me. Too many ways to study, too many directions to go. I'm making myself ignore most of the resources that I have purchased that are sitting on my shelves, and just to focus on doing one thing to completion for a change. Not in every area (like varied listening) but definitely to some degree. Good video!!!
Cereza, like you I have acquired far too many books and other resources. The money and time I’ve wasted! Less is more from now on and l will complete the courses I know are helping me like Paul’s and those by Olly Richards. I now know that I’m an Auditory learner and that’s very helpful so more listening and reading aloud from now on. I’m glad I bought the Journal though! Greater focus from now on. I’m excited 😆
@@birgittastevenson8123, I don't feel like I've wasted the money on books (fiction and non-fiction) that I've bought, but more so with some textbook types. I'll eventually read the other books and learn from them. BUT it made for a lot of distractions around me, until I came across Dan and his resources have helped me to get more focused. Así es, less is more!
Like 20 here! Hey this is high quality content! Congratulations man! I’m really impressed! I’m more visual than everything else. That’s why I learn a lot through intensive reading in an everyday basis. I also use flashcards and reinforce everything I learned by listening my records of me reading out loud what I have intensively read. So... I try to profit from all approaches. Professor X here! Stay safe.
Gracias, Professor X. Your visual learning abilities have a little bit of overlap with your auditory (and probably a little tactile too). So, the small area where all 3 overlap each other is what I call the learner's sweet-spot - where a combination of all the approaches really puts new information into the brain fast. Love your channel too! Dan
Daily Language Learning wow that was an amazing explanation! I need to learn more from you my friend! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Much appreciated! 🙏🏻
OMG! What a phenomenal video! #7 is me, not necessarily literal perfection, but I do tend to get hung up on the grammar. I have made some progress letting it go, knowing that even if I'm grammatically incorrect, I would be understood, but it's hard to change this habit. I like hearing from others that it's okay to not be perfect with the grammar! And #2, I have definitely been the victim of too many resources. I see something cool and I want it!!! I have definitely pared them down, trying to only use those resources that meet the needs, for me. Dan, this is fantastic and I really appreciate your insight and willingness to share your knowledge. Muchas Gracias, un miles gracias!
Boy isn't that true about the resources, just as Cereza Smith posted, I an even thinking about tossing many. I have taken so many classes bought so many DVDs and CDs and books--Omaiga !! . As Dan answered "yes, if resources made us fluent, we would be masters of the language :)". I think it is time to get a grip. AND get real. Thanks Cereza and Dan
