Hi Chris! Can you imagine...this machine still rocks in 2019. Of course it depends on the man/woman behind the wheel and you show your skills. Great work! Just have mentioned your channel on my channel for all those MV-fans. I mean...you're totally into LO-FI and I'm more focused on making electronic music with the MV. Peace and keep it up!
I know its insane when you really think about and compare it to everything that came out in those years. Thank you so much for the compliment and the shout out will check out your music indeed. I have a huge appreciation for electronic music especially when you create that type of sound on a sampler, I find that very cool.
I really enjoyed the ranting. You should do more like this, either on the MV or any other piece of gear. It would be really dope to show your work flow on the Digitakt. Your beats on that are always so raw and gritty. I feel like I learned some tricks. And I think I recognize the sample.
I need to get some free time to get moving on my MV-8800. I upgraded it with a CF drive and use a SDHC to CF and a 128GB card. I had to format the SDHC to Fat32 prior to installing, but it all works well. I first tried a SSD with a IDE adapter, but it never got recognized by the MV. I then took out my SD and copied the base files and additional samples on my laptop (super fast). This was pretty simple and easy to do just had to take out a lot of screws from the bottom a few times.
Never thought of a CF drive that might be a good idea too but is the drive internal or are you replacing the floppy drive as well? I would love to swap out the Floppy for a CF drive that would be perfect for me lol
@@chrisgalactic I think the 8000 may be 3.5" so you may need a size adapter also. this was a 2.5" and the I also used thisDIGIGEAR SLIM CF Adapter : SD SDHC SDXC WiFi-SD eyefi to Type I Compact Flash Card www.amazon.com/dp/B00XO2KSEO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9jt-CbES97B59

Have you experienced the MV going into digital when you want to sample ? Mine do and I have to keep initializing the machine in the settings for it to go into analog when sampling. What OS are you using on yours ?
Yeah the talking was allot but I fast forward through to the music very cool sound. Didn't know that box sounded so good. I like that you can connect a monitor to it. I use an MPCX. Great work.
What OS are you using on yours ? I am using the latest OS and my machine keeps switching to digital when I want to sample. I have to keep initializing the machine to get back to analog. Have you had this problem on yours ?
Wow all that in only one take! And I find interesting that you never start recoding first with high hat, I personally find myself kinda lost sometimes with the metronome alone
Yeah I guess I've also been accustomed to using the snare as my guide I might try recording with the hihat next time to see if I can come up with a different groove or something.
There's a video comparing speeds with an SSD. Almost zero difference. Seems the ram may be the bottleneck. I'm about to grab one of these this weekend, so I'll be enjoying the load and save times soon enough.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit lol the loading and saving speeds aren't that bad. I still got some samplers with floppy drives, now thats a whole different story lol
Bless Chris , have you studied or looked into automation movements (when recording a track, have been studying this very issue for like 3 days , and it seems like you have to select a mid track or audio track (empty) then record your movements , rather it be panning, reverb , or level changes) i did some real-time automation with the panning & reverb as i can see some events on the track , But then when I load a patch to it nothing happens, and I also loaded a patch first recorded some automation movements , and nothing happens, reply back asap and let me know what u come up with, much peace Wiz
have you upgraded your memory or the hard drive? got a 120gb 7200rpm from the "bay" last week for $54. Easy to install and I noticed it is a liiiittle bit faster. And of course more room for samples etc
I haven't still running the 32gb one but thats a good idea. I need to look into it tho thats not a bad price for a 12gb hd is that the max the MV takes?
@@chrisgalactic i think it is. the drive is actually 160, but it only uses 120 of it. theyre still up for sale. search for mv-8000 120gb hdd. it was a seagate. also if you didnt know the 512mb ram is usually pretty cheap and easy to put in. the mv only comes with 128mb. doubles your project space.

Great video, those beats & sounds are dope. The MV8000/8800 still can deliver kick arse beats today.
3:40 I never noticed the "loop" option in the menu. It's good to know though... A quicker way is to *push "Shift" & the loop "On"* buttons together.
DOPE! I didn't know that
I have an mv8000 as well looking forward to more videos from u bro badass work
Those drums are gnarly! Great video insane beat

The latest OS, this usually happens to me when I let the MV boot without creating a new project. This probably a bug
Glad to see other mv fans
The MV is a beast

That one thumbs down missed the boat on what the MV8000 is capable of doing...& kudos for that Roy Ayers Ubiquity sample as well!!
Haha I know right can't make everyone happy lol Ayy good ear.
do you think you will ever get into midi sequencing? sequencing outboard synths and drum machines?

I've messed me with minimal automation on the MV but I will test your procedure and I will get back to you to see if I received the same results.

das rollt einfach tierisch :)
wish this had a battery pack option
hi! what note lenght or step time is set when you druming?
Depends I usually set it to one shot but gate kinda gives the drums a cool sounding bounce and sometimes a bit more realistic sound
Very DJ Vadim just put it through a valve compressor
Sounds kinda like summer Everybody loves the sunshine don’t they.
Appreciate that!
that was badazz
Cool!

88 miles per hour. Its drilled into all the heads of us 80s kids. I'm assuming you're one of us. ;)

89 is my main groove for that grimy Mobb type tracks that I try to recreate... 😬
Yes! 89 is a perfect tempo too for those Mob deep style tracks. Love Havoc's production style man, always had a unique sound to his music.

Let's not get in that debate. lol
