    I have four earth tiger and two of them are Phormingochilus sp. Sabah blue (a male and a female)
    My female Phormingochilus sp. Sabah blue is the weirdest spider I own, today she was actually threat posturing from a long distance while eating she does other weird stuff too like jumping at prey and throwing bolusses and molts at me (I sometimes get the idea she's treating me like a slave)
    I keep all my earth tigers on a wet drainage layer that's filled between 30% and 90% with water this keeps the enclosures nice and wet without waterlogging the substrate and misting, I don't really like clay balls so I use hydro drain as a drainage layer after this I use repti mesh to separate the drainage layer fom the substrate, on the mesh goes jungle bedding as a substrate, on the substrate goes forest floor moss and finally the moss is covered with some leaf litter (camellia leaves) and finally springtails are introduced.
    I do use a heat mat on a thermostat to keep them at 26-27°C in the day and 20-21°C at night.
    The only con I have encountered is that it takes about three weeks for the humidity to stabilize but the spiders and springtails don’t mind at all it just causes some extra condensation on the glass.

    • @AlternativeInverts
      @AlternativeInverts  3 года назад

      Hey thanks for the comment 🤟🏻🤟🏻 tmThey do definitely have sone wierd traits if you can catch them out 🤣 we do have some similar setups with drainage layers to be honest for a few of ours but i tend to do better without them now. Providing the substrate is not over soaked i dont get ang mold etc using the irish moss peat. Also misting for me is good for helping grow the moss and plants in my enclosures 🤣 sure sound like you have some great setups and are keeping them well :D🤟🏻🤟🏻

    Sir I know this is off topic but. What's the right feeding schedule for tarantulas? (Sling,juvenile,adult)
    I power feed my slings till they grow to 2inch or 1.5 after that I stop the power feeding. Then I noticed it later on. I got small males. Specifically baboons. They would grow 3.5with hooks. I think I got problem on my feeding. Need advice from pro's. 😅
    Thank u

    • @AlternativeInverts
      @AlternativeInverts  3 года назад +1

      Hey, to be honest we dont stick to a strict schedule as i dont want to overfeed my T's. I tend to check on everything weekly and i feed based of the size of their abdomen. If they they start looking a little chunky i hold off with the feeding. Slings i tend to feed weekly some twice weekly depending and keep the temps a little warmer to grow them through the delicate stage faster but then slow it back down.
      You will find most male babboon sp. do mature quite small that is normal so you have nothing to worry about there :)
