These pedals are just incredible if you're an accomplished as a player and run a very well selected board, you will want these. And please stop imagining it is merely a "buffer", it is an impedance corrector and a driver just beyond normal pedals, yes it buffers the signal but it is so much more. I am running stereo dual OAMPs on the back end and they just added what I felt was missing from my rig. The Harmonic switch on the EUNA is just downright voodoo. Jesse's level of build and engineering is just off the scale. This is unique stuff, 22nd century audio.
EUNA is the most dramatic “subtlety” I have. It is hard to describe (but you do a great job of it) but the vibe it adds is critical. I can’t play without it now.
Both.. after initial scepticism.. which I aired on various posts on there release. I finally caved and ended up buying both.. game changer in front of modeller as tone shaping and line driver Natural compression and presence……or with tube amp/ tube pedals germanium fuzz… Just mind blowing greatness.. I am so happy. They would now be the last pedals I would sell in a long list of great gear. 10 golden ⭐️’s
Great video - super clear (demo as well as tone!). Thank you for putting the time in. I’ve had a Euna for a while and was wondering whether to add the Oamp. I can see them going on different boards. Only downside is of you’re running stereo - I guess big pro rigs might put an Oamp on both delay or verb outputs! For wet/dry (TPS definition) I’d probably put it on the wet signal but worth trying on each to see where it works best.
My pleasure, thanks for watching! Yeah, worth trying on each and seeing. I was also chatting with a buddy who runs a stereo rig and though it could be cool to perhaps run an OAMP on one signal and something like a Color Box or similar preamp style pedal at the end to add some more color. The nice thing about OAMP is it can be pretty "clean" (un-affecting) if you want it that way.
@@AmbientEndeavors I’ve seen someone run a Euna at the end of their board, so you could probably also have an Oamp on one output and Euna on the other. I will try that when the Oamp comes in. Also I see that @Mark Johnston has done a YT video using two Oamps at the end.
"Chasing the last 5% or 10%..." -- what about building off of a budget-conscious rig, would you recommend one before the other as a starting point? Instead of upgrading to a better version of a delay or reverb, do you see more utility from these?
I’d be interested to know the difference putting a tc spark mini at the end of your chain. If it was worth £299 dollar over £20 or even 2 for £40 because the Oamp is not stereo?,.. I think they are great however .. too big, too much real estate, I would hope that over time they can be redesigned and shrunk. Or even possibly both pedals in the same box with all the same features.. if they are really good as all the tube promo are saying . Then I would happily pay 500… problem is it’s one of those things you have to sit with to really appreciate… it’s a real punt for like 5% improvements . I think they look great and being someone who has put sparks at the end of my chain as buffer and signal drivers.. these pedals really peak my interest, but man they are big and no stereo … will wait a while and keep watching for tweaks to make them completely practical. Great vid
Thanks Steve! Yeah, really legitimate questions. If you’re content with a $40 Spark then justifying the pedal that’s 10x the price will be hard regardless. The OAMP certainly is a different animal in all aspects: dual gain stage with eq possibilities, effects loop, presence control, and a level of attention to detail in design and mfg that I think I’d imagine easily eclipses TC. Check out the dimensions too - it looks big but they’re not much larger than a 1590BB, and with top jacks can still stay tidy on the end of your chain.
@@AmbientEndeavors thanks for the reply, I really do get it. it was a question.. is it so much better? Rather than a statement…. It can’t be that much better.! This pedal is really aimed at someone like me who has already tried boosting and buffering my end of chain because of the observed need to do so. I would still hope for stereo at the end of chain as all my final effects are stereo.. expensive and worth investing in end of.chain signal clarity. I have found tc spark mini which includes a 1M buffer actually quite good at the end of chain. I guess the question I am asking and can’t answer because I can’t try a 29… is the oamp 279 bucks better. Maybe eventually someone can do the comparison.. i would be interested at least. Cheers
Question, do you think it’s too much already having a little black buffer end in SP clean boost? I still feel like it’s worth buying the euna. (Well, I already did lol so we will see.)
Can the oamp be placed at the beginning of my chain? I found one pretty cheap compared to the euna. I’m going stereo out at the end of my board. The UA dream.
ya know, you probably technically *could*, but EUNA is much more suited for beginning of chain and OAMP for end. I know, a bummer OAMP isn't stereo. I'd think there are a little better suited "first in chain" pedals than using OAMP.
@@AmbientEndeavors I got euna. So we will see like I mentioned in my comment before I do already have a little black buffer and also an SP clean boost.
So if you use an amp with an FX loop like the Supro Keeley, how do you use this pedal effectively? At the end of the FX loop chain or the end of your drive section? I use a EUNA and like it but curious how this integrates well with more complex setups with an FX loop. Any thoughts?
I would try it before the amp's preamp first - but it depends on lots of other things and of course your own choices! It could work really well driving the power amp after your FX chain. Message me if you want to chat about it!
@@29Pedals that’s where I have my EUNA right in front as the first thing after the guitar. I meant the new oamp, but I think an empress buffer + is what I need in my fx loop.
Thanks. But we did to get to hear how it sounds without EUNA. Without a proper A/B demo, it is not possible to tell what the pedal actually does there. OAMP seems less subtle, and I for one much prefer the cleaner tone you have without it. Not clear what you can do with this that you can't with a good booster pedal. Finally, for rigs that have a stereo output (most ambient guitar rigs), OAMP is a no-go (unless you get one for each channel!). In summary, I remain skeptic. Thanks anyway.

agree! They're special units, and the Harmonic switch is pure magic. Love it!

I dont understand why the euna works without the oamp

Really nice compare and contrast of the EUNA and OAMP!
Great video! Love the tones your getting with the Uena and the Oamp. But what’s that Boss Slicer doing there? It caught my eye immediately!
Ha! Cluttered music room strikes again. I picked it up a few weeks back and still need to dive into it!

What about for VERY large pedalboards that have some Always On effects? Would these make a noticeable difference?

I think EUNA is unique to either of those! Not a boost, and much more than a buffer. Hope you find it useful - I feel it’s a pretty magical unit.
