Hello fdesa12, Thank you very much for Posting this video response to "Tai Chi Kung Fu Wu Shu Fan Form Austin Texas." I was the person leading that group and we all appreicate this Wonderful Fan form. Now we can clearly see how the move should be done! We are forever in your gratitude!
very true. In fact, many would underestimate the fan's use as a weapon. Back then, the ends of the staves were sharp as knives. Some of the movements in this fan form can be interpreted as slashing with the fan's edge, or stabbing with the handle's end. It's loud pop when opened could be used to distract an opponent's attention as you kick, or stun by opening near their ear when close by. Of course, more power to you if you know how to use it as an extension and not just a another stick.
i really want to thank the one who uploaded this video. without this material maybe i have already lost my knowledge of this form. hoping that you'll upload more. :)
Thank you. I'll update the information. I didn't realize at the time that there were two fan forms in this routine until some time ago when I think I ran into a comment that part of the form is long fist...?
According to Sifu Diego Rivera, international coach based at San Juan Puerto Rico, the song is performed by Jackie Chan and it is about the kung fu skills...etc.
If by House of Rice, you're referring to the website houserice(.)com, then you'll probably want to go for the "large performance style cloth fans". Generally, as long as it is about 12" in length when closed, and is durable for sharp snaps/flicks of the wrists.
It is called "Beautiful Sunset Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan" there is a VCD you can order from a chinese website but it is only in chinese. It has 56 moves. You can do a search for the ISBN in google: isbn 7-88306-411-8. If you find a way to order it please let me know too.
I've heard this same song and it was by "Do Hong Cuong" ... is this perhaps an alternate spelling for Tu Honggang? I am currently learning this in class.
+BlakkAxe99 ..Hi ...is it possible to get a download mp3 version? .. an instrumental version would be very helpful too. I am practicing the form in my tai chi school and I'd like to play the music for the practices. Thanks and regards..
