Someone on every block invited me in to warm up and dry off before going on to the next block. I have never drank so much hot chocolate in my life. It took me 3 hours to do what was normally a 30 minute job on my bicycle. I'm sure most 15 year olds today would just give up. I had no option. My mother was raising 5 children by herself and I needed that 25 dollars EVERY week. Lesson learned. If you're reading this please stay safe out there.

Heard about this storm 3 weeks ago by an independent meteorologist on tiktok. He was simply watching weather patterns. It's crazy how quickly we get the news on TikTok compared to the mainstream media.
Back when I was a kid, there was no pretreatment, we all had rear wheel drive and no abs or traction control nannies, we just accepted the responsibility of safe driving in poor conditions, and only morons crashed. ...and the news didn't hype typical winter into "Massive, cold of death, avalanche of hell, freezing of the century, gods frozen fists of fury reigning down on thee, storm!!" They just called it winter weather.

I'm not doubting the weather forecast, but that line of cars up Little Cottonwood Canyon is common here. It's almost every weekend. It's cars going up to two of our ski resorts Alta and Snowbird.
Telling people to stay off the roads is the equivalent to telling them not to breathe.....it's not going to happen. I quit driving big trucks because I got tired of all the damn traffic everywhere you go. I swear people aren't working nowadays. They stay up doing drugs, sleep in, wake up at 9 or 10am and hit the roads because they have nothing else better to do

Pre treating works for a dusting up to an inch or so other than that its' a waste of time and money.
