This is hands down my favorite treehouse that I've ever visited! Watch more of my treehouse tours via my treehouse playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLkX9lI69h95YKQES3zGs_x1KvQmLz8e7D
This is very playful! The exterior looks like have seen better days tho, but the interior is surprisingly neat and new'esh. I just hope the trees did not die because of the bolts and screws in them :)
We love the Nest for its playfulness. These 500+-year-old trees, unfortunately, died in a wildfire in 2011. After that, we built the metal arc over them holding them all in place, and created this Swiss Family treehouse with all its nooks as an ode to those beautiful trees. We are growing vines on the arc to help create a nature sanctuary and shade that the trees use to provide.
@@AmyBeilharz How sad, but I'm glad to know that it wasn't the structure that caused it to die. In many treehouses I've been to, the bolts and nuts caused them to have disease and eventually die. In your case, you extended the legacy of the burnt tree by growing vines in it and creating this magical place. Thanks for the reply.
There's an old movie from 1995, Goldeneye007, this is pretty much a mini version of the end battle scene when james bond gets alec and drops him to his doom, and magically jumps to a rescue helicopter lol - too cool man. Ian Fleming would be impressed
This would be even better with a couple massive tunnel slides curling from the top sitting areas to the bottom! Maybe a climbing wall?? This place is cool either way! God bless!
My mind is stuck on one question, why there a arched netting around/above the whole thing? I see metal wires coming from it, so maybe it's structural, but it seems excessive and expensive for some support. I dunno, but for me it's too distracting and takes away from the place. However, with all that said I loved the wood walls in the 2 bedrooms, great design aesthetic!
Hi Chaz, the structure is fastened into the ground to ensure the trees that died in a wildfire remain upright. They are cypress and the wood will last a long long time, but their footing may give way-so we braced them. Much of the wood inside like the table in the kitchen and window frames we milled from other trees on the property that also died in the fire.
I don't know I think it's a cool idea but it's it's two separate the they have no living area there's no living room for everyone to come together this is like weird idea if you hate your family and you want to be spread out and you do want to be near each other on your vacation perhaps this would be good but I would assume that at some point I would like it better if the rooms all connected to one living room pod you know what I mean like is they all had their own separate drawbridges and then in the center of all of that was the living room area this way at some point on the trip sheet at least have to pass through this living area and you'd at least have to be around each other for a second at least on the trip or as in a home I mean I think it's a great idea if you live alone or if you wanted to live like this year round I guess that would make sense to have a house like that if you were a single person and you had a guest over or something but I don't know

So at night when I got to take a piss (usually twice or 3 times) I have to keep going to that room up top. Thats a turn off.
