@@Kothar- Yeah, I'm full aware of that, I been speculating how all those type of guns and torpedoes will work when the game releases so I make a good purchase. People are saying torpedoes beign so slow will be useless against these capital ships with many turrets shooting them down before they reach their target or just by flying away faster than them, but I think CIG won't let them be that bad when the biggest ship flyable by a player have them. The s10 torpedoes should be faster, so a Polaris should beat an Idris if they start combat from long range. The s12 from the Javelin should too even if slower. I think that all the videos where these ships battle at close range aren''t realistic and at the end big pvp capital battles will be these ships launching torpedoes from tens of kilometers, so all those guns the ships have will be useless, the one that may be the exception will be the Idris rail gun because will probably have the longest range of any gun, it is at 10km now. I have A Polaris because its so cheap either via the ccu game or the grey market. Also a BMM because is the best price-value ship, it has two s8 so I will taste how it is to use the Kraken or Javelin main guns. I'm still debating if any of the $1k+ ships are worth for me, if the torpedoes end being bad then the Idris will be the best choice if you use the rail gun at max range and don't let the enemy get close to you. Basically an Idris would beat a Javelin (and any ship, really) by shooting down its torpedos, keeping just under that 10km range so the rail gun hits but any gun from the Javelin (or any other ship) doesn't. It's the Idris M that has the rail gun, and maybe the laser version that the Idris K has won't have that range so you have to convert it to the M version ingame. If the Idris M was still availabe at $1000 I would buy it without a doubt, but having to spend $1500+ for a worse version and then a lot of ingame money to do the conversion makes the buy way less desirable.

Only if the force of the explosion could apply to the parts long enough. That's why you have rifles with long barrels to get bullets with faster exit velocity. With a short barrel the bullet exits fast and the compressed gas can't accelerate it as much as with a long barrel. The barrel also orients all of the force from the gunpowder into one direction. A random explosion is a lot less efficient in this way. In a chaotic explosion like this you sure will get a few tiny pieces going fast (since the lower mass the faster they can be accelerated from one short impulse) but large pieces (dozens of pound and up) take too long to get accelerated very much, also the shockwave deflects internally on the shattered pieces and slows the inner parts down again.

Not exactly true, self oxidizing combustibles can definitely still blow in a vacuum! Think: rocket fuel, gunpowder, lithium + water in electronics, etc!
Is not the ship full of O2? Ripping one open would tend to bleed a significant amount of O2 and other monopropellant stores creating a very large and short lived "fire". Some of the "fire" could be associated with the implosion of the quantum drives, sorta like the sun.
You can hear them try to charge up quantum shortly before the fuel-lines lead the demise of the ship... It was _that_ spooling that would be the last of their mistakes.

In terms of exposure, you mean like the Navy does ? ...
It's done for line of sight, during combat you cant command a ship that large via a camera alone and situational awareness is markedly reduced if such were done.
@@Nine-Signs I get that but it’s stupid no damn giant ass capitol ship is gonna have a cockpit on the nose they should be done the way the caterpillar and kraken are actual bridge rooms or cockpit areas having the cockpit on the front makes the ship feel smaller and just look like a scaled up small ship I’ll be really upset especially when they can just add cameras on screens in the cockpit also it would be easier to fly from the back end of the ship coz at the front you can’t see the entire back of the ship and you don’t need a nose seat pilot area for combat ina fucking capitol ship...I’m really hoping they get this right since they want realism
@@Nine-Signs Personally, I would guess that at the time Star Citizen is playing, it should be absolutely possible to have window-less bridge, with sensor data and visuals being relayed to the Pilot/Crew in sich a manner it is just the same as sitting in such a cockpit, maybe even better.
The Series "The Expanse" makes a pretty good example for this I think.
@@itzjustkris7964 Because their many ships, who can use emps and if you use Cameras they would be blind when they got hit by a emp bomb
@@Graz190 so? they can have windows too just stop freaking putting them on the front nose of every god damn ship
Did you know that in space things cant explode like this due to lack of o2??😁😁
I know, but tell this Hollywood :D
@@lespatula_ yeah well 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Not exactly true, self oxidizing combustibles can definitely still blow in a vacuum! Think: rocket fuel, gunpowder, lithium + water in electronics, etc!
This is not true as explosives have their own oxidizers.
@@ChevisPreston i didnt know that
But the explosion looks like its happening on earth it spreads, it shouldnt right?
So much fire... In space, where's no oxigen to cause said fire.
🤓🤓
Is not the ship full of O2? Ripping one open would tend to bleed a significant amount of O2 and other monopropellant stores creating a very large and short lived "fire". Some of the "fire" could be associated with the implosion of the quantum drives, sorta like the sun.
You seem to be low on FPS?
At the time of recording, you could hardly get more FPS in SC
@@lespatula_ is it better now?
@@quineloe yes. Beside the bugs, you can get up to 160fps+ depending on your hardware and the location in the verse.
I'ts a game?
Yes. robertsspaceindustries.com/
More like a playable tech demo at this point...check back in 10 years...there might be a beta by then.
Stuff seems to die way too easy.
Ah yes cuz Size 9 capital grade weapons should not cut down a frigate. Logic.
Who wouldve thought that standing still and nor returning fire would get you killed?
You can hear them try to charge up quantum shortly before the fuel-lines lead the demise of the ship... It was _that_ spooling that would be the last of their mistakes.
Incorrect. It's an animation associated with the exploding ship state.🤣
@@RDR911 come on, just doing some rp here.
This guy is everywhere in this comment section pay him no mind lel
@@gavinmitchell3709 Why is it that so many sc fans respond to people pointing out that what they are seeing/hearing isn't what is happening by just saying it is rp? It honestly strikes me as that meme about "just acting stupid".
It is quite interesting, I've never seen a community so hell bent on pretending. I wonder if there is a correlation between this failing and being easily duped.
@@SirSpence99 Go away if it annoys you, because I'm not hurting or offending anybody.
It's just cool to put myself in a scenario like that because, quite frankly, reality fucking sucks. It's just how I coped with it about 6 months ago. Now I'm in a relationship and trying to start digital art stuff.
Edit: I don't know where you got being duped from, haven't spent a cent on the game outside of the $45 to play it.
