To this day he is a name that continues to be remembered in rallying, 40 years after his only World Championship, and only 10 World Championship rallies won, much more than drivers with better records. Why will it be? Well, because it was pure show and that in rallies and in sports in general the fans appreciate it. His comebacks and the 8-minute penalty at Monte Carlo 85 tell you why, even despite all the accidents he has had, precisely because of risking so much. With helmet on Colin McRae seemed more like his son than Jimmy's. He curiously he was teammate of both. His courage and bravery has gone down in history and has been reflected in many drivers.
Personally although all group b drivers are legends I hate to narrow it down to two Walter in a quattro and ari in his T16 OH! and that manta 400 "dear god ! "I still have on VHS video " are the most crazy group B driver's of them all. I still to this day have always wanted to know (After getting that puncture in the Manx he continued flat out after Terry had said the famous "Dear God" ) my curiosity as asked "how fast was he doing until the end of the stage? GROUP B DON'T CRY BECAUSE IT'S OVER, SMILE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED! stay safe everyone Goodbye!
Great documentary but factually incorrect and strangely so is Google. Roger Clark won the RAC rally in 72 & 76. That's 2 wrc wins not 1! Also why does Wikipedia say that sandro munari champion drivers in 77 & 78? The world championship for drivers didn't officially begin until 79. It was for teams/manufacturers only up until 79!
