You’re one of those people who make it look so easy that it tricks other people into thinking they can just hop on the trail and have the same experience. And the only thing bad about your videos ...is when they end.
Thanks for filming and allowing us to come along on the hike. Its so cool to follow you guys all along the way. I'm 70 yrs old and its such a great way to start my day with a hot cup of cofffee and watching where you guys are and how far you have progressed. The views are fantastic, and the scenes like your dirty feet are a crackup. Keep those videos coming and thank you again !!!
2:39 - How does it look? - Not good, do ya see that green stuff? -> Cut to the avocado sandwich ;-)
That made my day. best cut ever
I just came here to say this. fantastic transition.
You showed Corey’s leg and then said; “see that green stuff” and then went right to your avocado wrap. Ewww Bwaahahaaa. Great job you two! Really enjoying your hike.
You guys are movin'!!!!!!
Edit: Great misdirection with the guacamole
Man I wish I was 30 years younger and hiking along with you. You guys are doing great. Don't give up keep your spirits up and God bless
Do what you can to get outdoors.
There are people in their 80s doing this
@@nicoleandjoshbaldwin4228 No one in their 80s has done a thru-hike. I think the oldest is a very unique specimen in their mid-70s.
The key is to get fit in your teens, and stay really active throughout your life. You MAY be able to do a thru-hike in your late 60s. You MAY be able to do a supported hike in your 70s. You WILL NOT be able to do even s supported hike in your 80s.
It's not the age, it's the decripitude of your various parts. You are only as strong as your weakest part. And we have thousands of parts. Pulmonary edema will kill older people, as will balance issues.
@@scottslotterbeck3796 wrong! On November 6,2021 M.J. Eberhert did. There are many people in their late 70s that have as well.
@@nicoleandjoshbaldwin4228 Prove it. Many claims are made, few pan out
“Did not record much yesterday just got a banana split”. Nothing like a hungry hiker.
We hiked these burned sections last year and I’m crying. It was such beautiful, healthy forest.
Nice transition. “See that green stuff?” Looks at infected wound, cuts to smushed avocado.
Bravo .........half...........wow.....been watchn early days......I dream to........pct is no joke.......u ever feel like pinoner ........cheers
Wow! You guys are hammering it out. Keep on keeping on.
Wow!! Halfway!! Yay!! Congratulations!!
Sierra Nevada Brewery! Chico was a great town to have a double zero. I’m also following Sam & Moriah and you guys are getting close to the Oregon border. You should be near Bend in a couple weeks and it’s a great place to have another double zero! Check out Bend Brewing, Worthy Brewing & Burgers and The original Deschutes brewery public house. They are all next to Drake Park and Mirror Pond in downtown Bend. Thanks for sharing your amazing videos!
That burned bridge was laminated timber. Had the other abutment been washed out? My year in purgatory was as a bridge building combat engineer. What I learned then, stayed with my professional career until I retired 35 years later. I still love all kinds of bridges. Congratulations on making it to the midpoint. Happy Summer Solstice. Good Luck, Rick
I love the views while yall are walking. I walk/run six miles everyday, but the reason I walk is to keep fat off because I like to eat lol 😆
Congrats on half way! (Playing a bit of catch up here, but the weather has been so nice lately, that I am outside a lot doing fire mitigation and collecting firewood for the coming winter. Never too early to start that process. 😄)
Woohoo! Half way!
I love it when you give a shout out to all the small towns/villages that you stop by or zero in to resupply. Keep it up Rocket, your getting closer to the CA stateline!Stateline! I also believe you're not very far from Paradise, CA where a wildfire took out most of the town a few years ago.
Congratulations on halfway 👏🏼🎊🎉
congrats on halfway! soak it in!
congrats on the half way.. way to go my heros
Lighting storm hitting Sequoias . Hope all PCT hikers safe❤️
Hope you guys have rested up and healed. The lush green of Oregon awaits. You're doing incredible.
This is so exciting I’m just living through you guys as I could never hike like you guys your killing
Getting close to OR! You guys need a trail angel let me know. I'm located in Salem OR and would be available if you need anything. 😊 food, ride to town, beer.....
“See that green stuff “ ….. great transition into guacamole 🥑
Aloe vera gel direct from the inside of the plant leaf topically really helps with wound healing and reduces scarring.
When you walk though a town like Chester, I open a second tab and google store names to find where you are, then I do a street view and do the walk too (Rouland Insurance!!)....you have been helping me discover all of these cool towns near the PCT...I have been watching since day one and I cannot believe how fast time is flying....if you finish the second half in the same time...that would be 9/9/22 or thereabouts....
You make it look so easy what you are doing is amazing. I'm suprised Chester is not more traveler friendly they could use some tourist money after all the fire damage. $280 a night is crazy, being on the lake isn't worth that much. If I were traveling through the area such a high hotel price would annoy me enough that I wouldn't do much business in Chester. I take week long backpacking/road trips every summer and I've had to spend less time/money in town more time in nature and camp/sleep in my car alot more in recent years because so many of these towns have turned into expensive tourist traps.
"Green stuff" means you're needed, how cute
s/o the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico.
Love your videos! You are so inspiring! But how do you keep your avocados from getting smushed?
Halfway is a really big deal good job
That's the part I hate the most. Hiking at the end of a group, and breathing/eating/swallowing dust. Then more and more dust.
When your nurse tells you it doesn't look good. Haha!
"see that green stuff" - cut to avocado lol
WOW half way to Canada!!!! I wonder if you guys can cross Canada border. Did you have an document?
It's unfortunate that you had a not so good reception in Chester.
The community needs the money coming in from the travelers (of course $280/night for a room up there is just nuts), but, that's mainly because of Lake Almanor.
Chester is going to have to work on being more hiker friendly !!
At least you guys got a ride into Chico, my backyard !!
so sad to see the burn scars. Likewise, it seems that Cory will have a leg scar, which shows that he is one with Nature.😂
✌👍
Just curious, how much do your packs weigh on a "light" and "heavy" days? Thanks
15-40lbs depending on food, water and cold
Weather gear!
What was that white animal that ran by you near the end?
Have you seen Bear on your trip 🥺🐻🐻❄️📹🤨
National Hike Naked Day is just around the corner. What's your thoughts on that?
Love following the journey!
I hit you up on IG. Let me know if you need a lift off the trail around Southern Oregon
Hydrogen peroxide solution is a wizz at cleaning up wounds like that on Coreys shin
Hydrogen peroxide should actually never be used on fresh or healing wounds. (Can be used to clean superficial wounds immediately after) HP actually removed red blood and healing cells! ♥️
How is Cory’s leg?
Healed up now!
8:08 How could Sam have a trail name other than "Ewok"? And Moriah, she needs a trail name too. I suggest "Galadriel".
No antibiotics for his leg on this town visit? Looks like he needs a clinic visit, or you should’ve opened that up and cleaned it out more.
Good video overall.
You thought your 80s-90s hotel wasn't you but you are on a trail living like nomads. Doesn't compute. All this trail hiking and you still haven't learned the essence of life. Read Walden.
Happy Trails.
His leg looks bad….buy some of the medicated bandaids.
Y'all are so slow, Sam & Moriah reached the halfway point weeks ago 😝
That cut looked like it needed stitches, and now definitely infected. I hope he got medical attention and antibiotics. 😬
Dirty toe video 🤣🤣🤣
$200 for a room! why are you doing this again??
Algy met a bear.
The bear was bulgy.
The bulge was Algy.
You think looking at the burnt forests is depressing? You should live here in Northern Nevada where we have been putting up with constantly smoke filled skies all summer long, choking and coughing for months on end from the California Fires. We've now had to put up with this nonsense three summers in a row. This is not only very unhealthy but it has ruined our summers. And it's not just Northern Nevada. The entire western half of the country has to put up with California Smoke just because California has no idea what they are doing. I wish California would drop into the ocean sometimes.
I didn't vote for Governor Doofus.
@@scottslotterbeck3796 Most people living in CA didn't.... But they have been cheating on the elections for a very long time now. Your governer wasn't elected. He was installed. They did the same thing here in NV.
I guess those people who have lost homes should be the first to jump in the ocean. Pathetic post.
