Just purchased this beautiful timepiece today. The pink that is shown popping in online photos and the like is not as pronounced in reality. Its very subtle except under certain lighting angles as you mentioned. The quality and precision of the dial along with the smooth flow of the second hand courtesy of the spring drive is mesmerizing. I personally have no issue with titanium and the lightness as well. The SR-71 was made of Titanium and nobody was saying that was a cheaply made aircraft. Its light and stronger than any steel case used on a watch so I'm just fine with it.

I love GS, and one day hope to own a GS Spring drive watch. I love the springdrive technology, and Ti is a fantastic material. I wear a Ti case/band watch now on most days, and love the lighter weight. I don't really like wearing a brick on my wrist.
I am really thinking about getting this one as my first more expensive watch, I now wear a Seiko SNKE01K1 which I love, the case size and the wearabilty for my wrist is perfect. Now has this one a 40 mm case and I can not try it on since I live in the Netherlands and should order it from the USA. Very big dilemma for me now since it is also a lot of money. Nice vid!
I think you can’t go wrong with this piece. It definitely wears smaller than the 40mm on paper. Plus this piece is in reasonable demand so if you don’t like it sure you could break even :)
There is an international/Japanese version of the same watch SBG443🌸😊 Titanium feels cheap on the wrist, hence is not popular. They should make a steel version of the "Shun Bun" and put some lume on the watch. The date window design is also a deal breaker.
How is the legibility of the watch in real life? I heard someone remark that legibility is quite poor because of how similar the tonality of the dial is to that of the hands and indices. In many videos it does seem that way. What is your opinion?
The legibility in my opinion is fantastic and it is not as washed out as one might think. The dial has a Matt-ish finish and markers are zaratsu polished so it is a stark contrast. Hope this helps and that you for supporting this channel.
I have 2 solar powered all titanium watches which in looks are similar to the Rolex/Tudor watches in this video. My 2 titanium watches are way lighter than the GS. The internals of the GS have some heft to them, so the watch itself feels in heft like a thin SS watch on a light strap. The strap, being made to very tight tolerances feels really well made and not cheap. I can tell from my experience with wearing a good titanium strap for 40+ years that this strap will be way better than a SS Rolex strap after being worn daily for 10 years (go to a used Rolex retailer to see what I mean, if you want). The polishing on this watch and the styling makes it look like a brand new SS classical cheap watch from a distance (especially the raised crystal, looking like cheap plastic styling). I like this unobtrusiveness on a daily wear as it will not attract attention from a distance, making it a nice daily travel watch, but I can see why someone would like something more noticeable by others. This watch should hold its looks for a long time even with daily wear, as long as you do not chip the sapphire edge against something (by putting it in a pocket with car keys, for example). Things that could be better for a modern watch (depending upon your preferences): 1) Blued second hand and/or gold main hands 2) Finer adjustability of the strap (works fine for me, but maybe not for you) 3) Power reserve on rear (on front it makes time hard to read when hands are over it and in silver) 4) No printed gold logo on back (should be engraving inside watch, not obscuring mechanism) 5) For a modern watch version, domed sapphire blending into case seamlessly and minute markers designed so that they are all visible from side angles, not only head-on. 6) Improved design of spring drive so that watch is slightly thinner. 7) There is no lume on this watch (not a problem for me because the sharp edges on the hands mean they are visible in low light with minor shifts in position of the watch). Lume would probably ruin the superb fine detail on the hands, anyway. All of these things will happen as they are addressed in various spring drives already (other than lume), albeit at a higher price. Overall, this is the favorite watch I own for daily wear and would be nicely complimented by a gold dress watch. oh, and mine gains 1 second/week ATM, meaning it is easily always within 5 seconds of accurate because I like to adjust for daylight saving time and to to keep the date accurate.
