Overview of the non-Schengen to Schengen Area transfer process at Zurich Airport (ZRH). Non-Schengen flights depart and arrive from the D and E gates meanwhile Schengen flights depart and arrive at the A and B gates. A, B/D gates form part of the Airside Centre meanwhile the E gates are part of the midfield Satellite Terminal. Arguably, Zurich Airport is one of the best and most efficient airports to transit through amongst all European hubs.

It is very helpful as i will have like 1 hr from gate e move to gate a with a kid. I was worry i will miss my next flight. I just saw ur review and its perfect. Looks fast and convienent.
Thanks for ur sharing
Just had a 40mins connection in Zurich. Thanks for your video. made it in time. Thank you.
Excellent video, very complete and shows each stage of the process. We connected in ZRH a few months back and found it very efficient. The Skymetro is great.
I am REALLY not a fan of bus gates, though. It always feels like Ryanair.
I mean every airport has to have them. There are so many flights that you can't really park all the airplanes at a gate sometimes. Plus its usually the carriers decision if they decide to pay the extra for the gate.
Good job explaining things in a very informative and simple way
Thanks. This is very useful. Looks like all pax will be let out at E gates departure. I am transiting through Zurich in a few weeks, flying in from Singapore.
Awesome guide! I needed this!
This was actually very helpful. I am travelling from Mumbai to Barcelona through Zurich next month. My transit time is 55 mins and I am a bit anxious about it. A morning transit too. I hope I can make it.
Hey I'm looking at the same flight, can you tell me what the process was like? I have a connecting flight to barcelona as well
How did it go for you both, please let me know, I am planning to book aswell having 1 hour layover at Zurich.
Did you guys need a transit visa?
No answers, looks like these guys were lost in transit way. 😂😂😂
I have exact 1 hour I am pretty anxious that to with older parent
I will be travelling to Luxembourg via Zurich . I will have around 2:30 hours . will it be enough?
Yes, that will be more than enough time.
I'm going this weekend from UK to Munich I have 1h15min to change i hope is enough time 🙈👀
I booked a flight to Greece through Air Canada. Toronto to Zurich to Athens. Arrival time in Zurich is 10:25. Departure time to Athens is 11:15. This is/was a concern to me. Didn't seem possible. After watching your video I'm buoyed by your presentation. Just out of curosity, what was the time between your arrival and next departure. I ask because my feelings of anxiety include the possibility that my luggage may not be transferred in time.
50 minute connection at ZRH is certainly possible and you will be arriving after the early morning non-Schengen arrivals bank. Whether your luggage makes it onto your connecting flight will be a toss up.
Thanks for your help. Guess I'll be packing clothing extra clothing in my carry on.
Thank you for your video. I have an upcoming flight that i have 1 hour and 15 minutes layover in Zurich. I'm a bit anxious. I hope I make it 😬
75 minutes is plenty of time for ZRH. You should be fine.
@@OnTimeReports thank you 🙏🙏
Did your flight require a transit visa?
@@starlight-d1d no I didn't. Only passport check. It was very quick actually. I arrived to the gate in less than 10 minutes. Very good and efficient airport
Thanks a lot for much needed info. May I know immigration queues? I’ve 55 min transit coming from Dubai at E and next departure for Manchester from D.
Hey. Hello ! I have my flight tomorrow and the layover is 50 minutes. Do you think it'll be enough? A bit anxious..
@@bidishasingha2120 Hi, if your final destination is not EU(it was UK in my case) then you will not pass through immigration. Just security check for which time is enough provided you are landing on time. However if you coming from EU countries going to non-EU (Germany to Dubai), then time not enough due immigration queue & train time. In my case, plane waited for 15min extra for us to make it:)
@@nasarahmad Hello. Thank you for your prompt response . Actually I am coming from India and destination is Manchester . My layover is in Zurich and layover time is 50 minutes. Can you please tell me now ?
Confirmed gate # will be confirmed upon arrival. But I think even switching from E to D is manageable. It was Heathrow in my case and just took 15 min. Good luck 👍🏻
I have a 65 mins layover from HK to rome. Hope I make it
Hello~I'm planning the exact same trip, so just wanna know if you made it.
Were all passengers let out at gate E Departure or were only the transfer passengers let out at gate E-Departure and the passengers with final destination Zurich let out at gate E-Arrival?
All pax
Thanks for the video. My flight will be from Hongkong to Berlin through Zurich. May I ask if the checked baggage is automatically transferred from Zurich to Berlin so that I do not need to do anything ?
there are loads of factors into this.. whether you purchased your ticket in one PNR, same alliance etc.. call your airline to check
Helpful video, what about security, is it possible to miss the security and have problems later ?
I have a flight from Delhi to Paris, 1 hour 5 min layover at Zurich, will i be able to make it, please suggest.
It will be tight, especially if you are flying on SWISS, landing at ZRH in the early international arrivals bank. But it is certainly doable since minimum connection time is half of the time of your connection.
@@OnTimeReports I already booked, Wish me luck 🤞
@@unsaiduntold, hi. How was your connection? Did you have enough time?
@@sandroidtv5879 yet to take my flight in few days.
It seems like your bags are checked through
I understand that passport control is anyways ? I am going to have a connection of 4.5 hours , comming and going from and to a non shangean country. I had a very bad experience from Frankfurt with a non shangean passport so I learnt from that. The 40 minutes transit time is practicaly irreal.
If you rush you should make it. Passport control usually doesnt take long and even if its full it wont take more than 15-20 minutes. And the remaining 20 min are enough time to walk through the airport
