That was a travellers site guys, you had a close call I think, they were most likely in there looking for scrap metal. However, I don't think the chances of harm are high for you both because you all have seemed to have experienced enough to know how to handle yourselves in these unpredictable situations. Just keep your awareness on a high though! Another example as to why it's better to explore with another person, much better than being alone.

Wow! I was holding my breath with u both! That was terrifying. Listening to them ransacking the house was horrible though, all the belongings and memories of the family that once lived there just thrown all over, so sad.
Where the van was parked when u reversed back it looked like a caravan site or something? Its a shame uou can't report them. So glad you are both safe though it doesn't bare thinking about what might have happened if you would have ran into them cos some people will go to extreme lengths to protect their identity when they are caught in situations they shunt be in!
