You definitely need to check out more of their live stuff. It's amazing! Kirstin and Mitch were in theater together since they were 10 years old. Same with Mitch and Scott. And they all 3 were trained together in theater in high school so that helped so much with how their harmonizing just fits so well together. Like a beautiful puzzle. Matt, Kevin, and Avi are just legends too.
After #Pentatonix released the official video, Brian May posted a link to it on all of his social media accounts, with the comment "Enjoy." I don't think you need to worry about whether the surviving members of Queen have heard it.
I saw them do this live in concert in 2023 (from the front row, no less!) and I was still flabbergasted and jaw on the floor the first time I saw this video! They are just incredible and simply THE best acapella group.
Personally, I like #Pentatonix's version better than Queen's. Queen's instruments were so overwhelming; it feels to me almost as if the voices and the instruments were fighting, competing to see which could be the loudest. It makes it hard for me to hear the music. But with Pentatonix it's all voices, and Pentatonix knows how to balance the accompaniment with the lead. I can hear the music as a whole, but I can also hear each individual voice. Everyone works together.

Exactly. Seeing them live is so surreal. I’ve seen them 5 times so far and I’m always dumbfounded.
Scott is the tall blond. Matt is the bass. Kevin is the beatboxer. You already recognize Mitch and Kirstin.
Fun fact ...Queen never performed the 'Bismillah' section live , they would show the video and leave the stage for a quick costume change !

Depending on when this was recorded, you may have already missed their Christmas concert at the Mohegan Sun. Think they're in Tennessee, now. 🤷🏾♀️
