As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.

A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.

I still use the MiniWallet from SECRID. It closes with a snap fastener and I like the way you can store banknotes. The leather could be a little higher quality though.
Slingbags? Absolutely!
I usually wear the Slingshifter01 from Greenroom136. If it has to be bigger, then the Metrorunner01, also from Greenroom136. If it has to be smaller, then the Bum Bag from Blue Ridge Overland Gear.

I didn’t understand carrying a back pack everywhere until I discovered slings. I started using slings and no joke not having anything in mind pockets is so comfy. I now have a sling collection and since I’m starting an IT career so I recently started looking at backpacks
What’s your favorite sling so far? I’m currently on the never ending quest to find the right one!

Around 2 liters it’s between the cas2 by evergoods, banana sling by trakke. And city sling 2 by AER (if you put a gun to my head and told me to choose one it would be the CAS2) for four liters it’s hands down the aer day sling2 but you can try out the tom toc sling since the day sling 2 is out of stock (you can try out the day sling 3. Amazing bag but I just like the 2 more) and for big slings it’s between the chrome kadet and the trakke largo sling

You started out noting that a previous poster had written that nobody in NYC wears sling bags. I am not certain what Borough he is in but I am in Manhattan and everyone here wears sling bags. Women and some men have been wearing crossbody bags here forever and now many have transtioned from those to sling bags. The choices in slings are endless now and men and women can easily find some that suit them for whatever their needs. Nor do I think they look like fanny packs. Those were useful but awful looking. I have the Grams28 and it looks very handsome. There is nothing fanny packing about it.

Same, plenty of slings in Manhattan. And they are super practical - there's no rule that says guys have to be limited to using only pockets, how stupid would that be.
Exactly this. Slings looks nothing at all like a fanny, I think it's just a sense of insecurity associated to the fanny pack stigma of the yesteryears
Hi Bo, about the Huel meal replacements, me and my wife are taking Jimmy Joy, which is a Dutch brand and honestly we are pleasantly surprised. They have a lot of flavors and some of them are quite delicious.

In summer in shorts and t-shirt, it's impossible to store sunglasses, reading glasses, airpods, phone, Keys, wallet without some kind of bag.

I wear them if i plan trips with minimal carry. Very easy to access items compared to a backpack, and better than stuffing pants pockets (already have a lot sagging down there)
I tend to go with backpacks though since i tend to carry a bit more and don't like slings digging into my shoulders or shifting around as i move especially at jogging speed or faster
Yes, I don't like one sided weight distribution. Which is why I don't like slings over 2l usually. Anything bigger and I prefer to go with a backpack

My EDC fits in my pockets, but I have to say that a sling bag has been a huge upgrade to my travel experience!

Fashion advice opinion is just that their opinion, they would have fun with me I wear compression leggings-tights when I train for my long distance walks up to 22km 🤣so a sling bag i.e. Murse so no big deal.
Exercise that is why I like my bicycle, I can unplug from the electronic devices for a bit, and just enjoy some quiet me time.
I remember using all those mics and cables when I was a journalist, back then I usually used a mic plugged into the camera, it's easy to fix audio levels in the editing software.

Bo. I bought sling bag four or more years ago after you reviewed it. Mine is still holding strong but I was curious if you still had your Funk St sling. They went out of business but I'm trying get my hands on another one. Thanks for great content and show casing good products with well thought out comments.

With smartphones, keys, card wallets and so on, slings are a very useful item. You only have to get the right one. I don't like to have stuff in my pockets, specially in warm months.
If that commenter doesn’t see them walking around in NYC they either aren’t looking hard enough or they’re on their backs. And who cares if you see them or not? If it’s something that’s useful/ convenient for you it shouldn’t matter…

How would you rate the quality of DJI Pocket 3 comparing to Iphone 15 Pro Max (or any high end smartphone that is fairly new)?
I film a lot with my iPhone and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to a dedicated camera.
I don't have an iPhone to compare. On paper the ability to record in prores on the iPhone is better. However, I believe a dedicated camera with the extra lav mic is much superior. Because on the iPhone you will need to attach a mic set and maybe an SSD. So I personally love the pocket 3 with the lav mic, because I can deploy it much faster and easier to record footage. For fast recording without a mic a phone is cool though
I had it about 4 years ago, when I was on vacation. I put the keycard of the hotel room and my iphone, which had magsafe, in the same pocket and couldnt enter my room, cause the data on that card (it was a nfc card) was deleted.
That mis another good reason against magnets. Ive been to some hotels with magnetic stripes. That would be very annoying
DSPTCH sling pouch M size is one of the best looking/functional out there,im surprised how little attention they get.
Dsptch is high on my wishlist

Men should absolutely wear sling bags and not give af what others think. I’ve had a phone stolen without a sling right out of my pocket and they’re especially useful for when you’re wearing sweats or gym shorts with loose pockets. My phone has fallen out of my pocket so many times in the car, the worst was on the road as I was exiting my car resulting in a cracked screen. Slings are also excellent for quick errands to have essentials sort of organized for a quick grab and go. Pockets aren’t always enough and backpacks or messengers are sometimes too much to lug around.
Phone, wallet, key fob, sunglasses and a small power bank are the basic essentials. You can go further and add medications, small pocket knife, flashlight that can all come in clutch for when you’re out and about all day.

I use a mini duffle bag from Supreme it’s like 5.5L. Totally looks like a duffle bag so throws people off the scent of it being my man purse.

No, I neither box with glasses nor with contacts. I have hard contacts and I am too afraid of damaging them or my eyes. So I go more or less blind into it haha. But it's ok

As you age - I'm 54 - I don't give a chimps right testicle who thinks what. I need my phone, wallet, a pen, sanitiser, passport, cash, glasses, Airpods etc. The choice is to have your trousers full of shit, or a simple sling that you slide around to grab what you need. Enjoy life and stop pissing about with elements that really don't matter. Good video, thanks!

@@YouknowtheboI don't mean to sound flippant, apologies if that came off as harsh. Lots of sling bags being used here, but they tend to be the much smaller fanny packs that one buys for USD$20 or so.

Ive been carrying bags for 25+ years. I've been told I'm carrying a woman's bag, a purse, a handbag, a man bag etc. had my sexuality questioned several times.
It's quite saddening that in 2024, insecure men still have such issues.
Should men wear sling bags? Yes. Men should wear pink, purple, yellow, red, peach and lavender sling bags too. Women shouldn't be the only ones who are allowed to wear style and men shouldn't be the only ones allowed to wear function either. We are all victims of this convention. The ones of us believing men shouldn't be allowed to wear slings/purses/sacoches, and women who want tough, padded, functional bags that're stylish and colorful, especially so.

A backpack is just an extra large man purse with a different name. A bag on a man = man purse. There’s nothing wrong with a backpack, a purse or a “man purse.”
