I got hit today at work. I have that amount of red and swollen within a few hours. I am about hour 5 pain and itching. Used baking soda and essential oils, they helped a little bit. The redness seems to be going already but I’m watching to see.
The area I was stung instantly was dime to nickel sized probably double stacked that has evened out with the rest. If I think about it I’ll update myself in a day or so and compare.
(Update 36hr) 1 1-/2 inch bigger than other arm. Super itchy and stiff. Definitely seems exactly as yours. Hand is stiff also. Ice definitely helped when on but spot on to your video.

Five years ago I was stung by what I thought was a wasp. I sat on the ground to pull the weed patches from around my trees. Suddenly, I felt an undeniable, sharp piercing prick on my left leg above my ankle. I grabbed my pant leg, jumped from the ground, and headed into my garage to remove my pants hoping to find whatever bit me, but all I saw was a tiny little red mark. I turned my pants inside out and shook them several times before putting them back on. Not knowing what bit me, and to play it safe, I took a Benadryl tablet.
Four hours went by and my foot began to itch. I tried 3 popular anti-itch ointments. Nothing was working. Knocked myself out with Benadryl. The next morning I awoke to a very red, hot, swollen foot, and leg, itching, and a fever of 102. Blew my mind. That afternoon, I went to the E.R. I was given an anti-biotic shot and a 500mgs CPac for 14 days.
I have a lot of trees on my property, and a rocky pond, where a group of yellow jacket wasp thugs like to hang out every summer. Realizing that fact, I thought I was bitten by a yellow jacket. The following year, it happened again. I was clipping my ornamental bushes when I felt a familiar prick. A black wasp flew out of my garden glove as I pulled my hand out of the glove. The wasp bit me on my wrist. By the next day, my arm was red, itchy, red, and swollen up to my elbow. Angry little buggers!

😂 so thankfully I found your video... I was stung almost 36 hrs ago... I thought no big deal.. it burned for a while when it happened and was just sore all night. Then I got to work at 7a.m. and it decides to swell 2hrs into my shift. I'm currently at about 4-5 inches of swelling from the outside of my wrist down my forearm. About an inch and a half up towards my hand. An about 2.5 inches wide. Pretty firm. Not much heat..

I was taken to the hospital after I fell into a yellow jackets nest hiking down to a river two years ago. With over 26 stings, it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life. Thank goodness there was a river nearby. I was able to jump in. My husband said he could see the whole swarm flying over my head. The swelling in my body was so severe. About 12 hours later, the pain turned into itching. It was awful. Took me several days to heal. It was an experience I will never forget.

My suggestion: Neutralize the histamines and acids from the bite with straight ammonia right away
Take 25-50mg Benadryl tablet to fight histamines (itching). Take 400mg Advil to fight Prostaglandins (pain). Go to sleep, the quicker the better with all these steps

I'm on day 3 of being stung by a swarm of yellow jackets. I was working in my yard and felt an intense pain in my foot, when I looked down I had yellow jackets on my arm and leg ,I slowly walked away and yelled to my friend to get the hose. She said I had a swarm around me! They got in my hair too! I have a total of 7 stings, oddly the ones in my scalp don't hurt or itch today. But the one on my ankle knee and wrist are hot, stiff and very red. The ice doesn't seem to help me. Benadryl and Tylenol has helped. The vinegar took itching away and so does the baking soda.

Two weeks ago, I had 4 yellow jackets attack my left hand while I was working in my woods. They stung me repeatedly before I realized what was happening. I estimate at least 12 stings in the hand. The hand was paralyzed for an hour and it felt like a hammer was hitting the hand for 24 hours. There was no swelling. I used Sting Ease, an antihistamine, Tylenol and a poison ivy spray. The hand is nearly back to normal.

My neighbor told me to grab 3 different leaves from the yard (I used one from my rose bush, one from a weed, and one from a flowering vinca) smash them with your fingers till they are damp and rub it on the site. Helps take the heat out. This did work for me, not a total cure all but second sting was a lot less painful than the first 😊

When I get stung by a yellow jacket or a bald faced hornet, I have a fairly strong reaction if the location is above the waste. When stung on the legs, any discomfort is forgotten soon afterwards. A honeybee sting (I'm a beekeeper) is a soft kiss, compared with those wasps. It's often advisable to get on antibiotics after a yellow jacket sting, as they frequent garbage cans and even feces for nourishment towards the end of the summer.

Mountain climbing in the Arizona mountains the guy I was with came down past me quickly saying nothing. When I looked up about a 1000 came at me! Al I could do was fight which I did swatting them for 45 seconds without one sting. Not being able to get me until they jumped on my head which thankfully I had long hair they had to get through it to my skull which they did. I started pulling them out one by onè feeling every sting until I got mad telling the other guy get over here, and help although he was useless. I was stung 30 to 35 times on the head before it was over none anywhere else I fought like bruce lee! After it was over I grabbed a rock holding on feeling the venom in my head for 10 minutes I climbed down then overall recovering excellent fine no swelling the next day. 2nd time in desert floor one stung me coming out of a bush on my hand with swarm coming out behind him I ran through cactus like a running back while my friend said keep running they are all behind you which was so hard the cactus needles are vicious, but I out ran them. My hand swelled up like a balloon with a doctor saying if it get's any bigger we will have to slice it. I though just let it blow up then! 3rd time riding my motorcycle fully covered jacket, and helmet with only one spot vulnerable my neck Right on my artery one sting I pulled over in the middle of nowhere getting off my bike dropping straight to the ground in anafalactic shock An elderly couple seen me luckily pulling over speeding to the hospital saving my life. The doctors over medicated me bringing my heart rate to 1 beat about every 3, or 4 seconds. They had shot me up 3 times before the got my heart rate right. So now I tell people the most dangerous thing in the desert is yellowjackets🥵

I think if you apply ammonia shortly after a sting it helps neutalize it. I use it on fireant stings, and I think the logic is the same as peeing on a jellyfish sting. Urine has ammonia, and I guess the poison in most stinging invertibrates is the same.

It was 2 or 3 weeks ago I was cutting the back yard on a Saturday and suddenly I felt something stinging the top of my left foot. I couldn't tell what it was the the next thing I knew I was being swarmed by yellow jackets. I had run over and in-ground nest that wasn't there the last time I cut the grass. I ran up to the back deck and pulled my shorts off (I wasn't wearing a shirt) and got in the house. I had been stung 7 times. 2 times on top of my left foot, on the achillies of my left foot, my calf, on the back of my left leg, the underside of my left forearm, and on the back of my head close to my right ear. My wife put some baking soda (powder?) mixed with water on the stings.
About 3 hours or so later I was hurting really bad. I remember thinking I can't take this pain much longer. It was very intense. It occurred to me to try some ibuprofen (4 tablets) and it really reduced the pain. I kept taking them every 8 hours after that through Sunday. By Monday 2 days later I was having no pain at all and really recovered. I still have the scabs though. They are going away slowly.

I ended up going to the ER as I was having some strong reactions. I am on Prednisone and Claritin for the next few days. Some of them are really burning this evening. I used baking soda paste and apple cider vinegar with some relief. I had an antihistamine cream that I had purchased two years ago from Amazon and that seems to give me the best result.
