A miss cue with med-high power can damage the tip depending on the hardness of the tip being used. They are checking for damage. I check every time as well. I don't blame the tip, I blame myself for performing the shot incorrectly.
I don't consider the shot of Liang @3:28 as a bad shot, because he scattered all the reds all around the table and ended up near the cushion which consider a safety shot and put his opponent in a difficult situation,I consider it a lucky shot.
It's just leaving all the reds wide open which gives his opponent a much greater chance at potting them and thus racking up a high break and winning the frame.
hahahahaha that smile @ 3:48 from Ding at Liang and pointing at him,he was saying look at that lucky son of a gun how he got away with it 😂😂😂 Ding is so funny.
That, plus I think because the table is so much larger, they need to hit the ball harder. So when the the cue tip touches the table in a shot, it does more harm to the tip than it would when you intentionally jump in pool. At least that's what I thought. I don't really know much about snooker though.
All those jumpshot would be fouls in pool too. You can't scoop the cue ball from under for a jumpshot. To legally jump, you need to hammer it onto the table from over.
Why risk damage to the table, tip and balls if you don't need to? Even without that issue, it doesn't always look like even the top pool pros can tell exactly what the cueball will do after they hit a jump shot. That randomness is bas enough on a 9 ft table, let alone 12ft
The player miscued, meaning he did not at all hit the cue ball the way he would have wanted. You can listen again to the sound that made, very different from the "usual" sound.
Snooker is chiefly a British game, a big part of our culture that much of us grew up with. The only other places it is popular are mostly Commonwealth countries and China, so if you are not from any of those place, it makes sense that you wouldn't know what's going on.
No it was a bad shot, he went for the double and missed it. He played it at a pace where if he missed it he would've been very lucky to leave it safe. He could've either played it firmly to have a chance of it landing safe or he could've played a safety. So it's a bad shot.
klieu90210 how much do you think a professional grade tip goes for? literally have no idea, but I doubt it's 3$ the 6 pack like the ones you get at wall mart.
Jay. Many snooker players just use Elk Masters, which, if you buy the box of 50, come out to about 46 cents each. The new Elk Pros, which I believe Ronnie uses - don't quote me - cost £23 ($29.31) for 3pc. Some players (such as Mark Williams) use a Kamui, which in snooker size you can find for £9.90 ($12.61). Kamui is generally going to be the most expensive tip in the snooker market, although more expensive specialty tips exist in the pool market.
Probably because of the amount of screw these pros try to put on the cue ball for the positioning. The pot itself was nothing, but striking with some power low down for backspin also carries the risk of chipping the cue ball if struck a bit too low.
That last shot by Fu was not a kick, That's just pure failure at lining the shot up. The 6 P's we call them, Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
@@SnookerPlanet Ah I see thanks. I still find it hard (as a non snooker expert) to believe that they can't have and afford multiple cues, even if they're all expensive and custom made. For example, a musician requires an expensive, high-quality instrument, but they own and play multiple. It just seems like a big price to pay in case something goes wrong, stopping the whole match and taking a break...
Because a cue is a very personal thing, you get so used to how a cue plays that when you try to play with another cue you'll struggle to perform as well with it as you did with your main cue.
You needed an entire tournament to collect 12 instances of bad shots. I can do that in 10 mins in the club 😂
I can make 12 bad shots in 10 minutes.
Ashim Upadhyaya a tournament twice as long as an average length tournament
Ashim Upadhyaya oe bahun
I can make 12 bad shots in 12 shots.
Iijj
Thanks for not putting any music in it..
this
Who does that anyways, I think I saw someone the other day requesting it...
Tequila or whatever he's called does it on like every video.
shallowlord
Sek Theinly
their bad shots are my best shot i guess.
nice
Miscue, breaks tip, amazing "jump" shot! everyone in the pub cheers
Settle down please.
យើងដរឹងមុំ
Thank you.
Fank you
Ronnie O'Sullivan one.
6:03 is that a robot ref?
LMAO
GizEdwards jajaja
sounds like Roger from American Dad
GizEdwards I
GizEdwards jajajajajajajaja
The great thing about ding is that he can laugh about his mistakes. he's such a character which makes him one of the best players in my opinion
Ding's reaction to his shot at 4:12 cracks me up every time! What a guy!
Oof....."He's damaged his tip".....that sounds painful !
"He will have to replace it", that's even worse!
Ding and Mark Williams are 2 of my favourite personalities in snooker at the minute. Always smiley and happy😂
Ding eat pigs...no good...
When you make a bad shot : look at your tip immediately
0:06 so this is very clinical. Very precise
Well he clinically touched the black, so...
2:57 - does it say "ISIS" on his shirt?
lbjeffries100 actually it's 1SIS but still cynical enough with his beard
Aleksandar Salov
It is a small company that sponsors McLeod for well over a decade now and he decided to stay loyal to it
Random fact. There also exists a Toyota Isis. I see them all the time here in NZ.
That has to be the most unfortunate branding ever 😂😂😂
1sis
It is good to see at least some of the shots played by these professionals are as good as my Best Shots
Barry Hawkins' shot ... "Don't see it very often" ... You do if I'm playin'!
@6:04 - Sounds like one of the cone heads/alienish, lol. “Thank you, settle down please!”
I like how some of them immediately look at the tip after a bad shot🤣
It happens because of tip only
A miss cue with med-high power can damage the tip depending on the hardness of the tip being used. They are checking for damage. I check every time as well. I don't blame the tip, I blame myself for performing the shot incorrectly.

5:46 even a champion can do a big mistake sometimes..
13 ball plant
Ding has such a nice smile 😊
At 2:45 , that guy behind him is laughing at him 🤣
whats wrong with the crowd
before play clapping, after play laughing 😂😂
Pls can someone explain why it is bad at 4:14 when ding scatters the red balls?
It's just leaving all the reds wide open which gives his opponent a much greater chance at potting them and thus racking up a high break and winning the frame.
@6:36 when Fu missed the shot,I heard someone in the audience said to Mark Fu the F word am i right?
Seasons in the Abyss nah the referee said mark fu, then his break score
Richard Thomas aha OK thank's dude.
hahahahaha that smile @ 3:48 from Ding at Liang and pointing at him,he was saying look at that lucky son of a gun how he got away with it 😂😂😂 Ding is so funny.
snooker players afraid of cue ball jumping while pool players proud of theis skill jumping the cue ball. that's simple huge difference
Foul stroke to jump in snooker, not really being afraid.
That, plus I think because the table is so much larger, they need to hit the ball harder. Where are the 'snooker planet'music trademark at the end?..just advertisement showed up!
"I didn't see that 13-ball plant there, Willy."
0:05 Very clinical and very precise.....
I'm not completely familiar with the rules. What exactly happened at 1:26?
The player miscued, meaning he did not at all hit the cue ball the way he would have wanted. You can listen again to the sound that made, very different from the "usual" sound.
I don't know why, but I feel better after watching this. LOL
We got a free pool table from Craigslist. My best shots are worst than these. Good video I enjoyed it. :)
SETTLE DOWN PLEASE
very nice
Like number 1000
I love the way Players got worried about their cues
Love all shots espy. Ding's at 3:54. Crown must go to Bingham, though: how could he?! Boy, what a painful, costly shot!
wow amazing guys....
5:15 lmao blaming the wrong thing
Who else is watching this not knowing what the hell is going on
Snooker is chiefly a British game, a big part of our culture that much of us grew up with. The only other places it is popular are mostly Commonwealth countries and China, so if you are not from any of those place, it makes sense that you wouldn't know what's going on.
4:22 that's not really a bad shot more like unlucky.
No it was a bad shot, he went for the double and missed it. He played it at a pace where if he missed it he would've been very lucky to leave it safe. He could've either played it firmly to have a chance of it landing safe or he could've played a safety. So it's a bad shot.
not only the tip, but the cloth is damaged too. can't replace divots on the cloth.
2:00 cue tips??????
Can the players hear the commentators? I know the audience can
No
Damn! These are my greatest shots I could ever have 🤔
5:18 begbie trick shot (trainspotting)
Should they be able to listen to the commentary and laugh at the players?
Yes it seems 😂.. Fck
Why No5 is from the worst shots? Ok, it was difficult and he was unlucky. Why it is included in the worst?
Set down pleas thank u
Are they not allowed to have a backup stick?
Before my eye sight went bad. my biggest break on a big table was 76 & 84 on a small table.
Now you will be lucky if I can see the bloody tables lol
Is there one like 10 worst shots by O'Sullivan?
Nobody:
Ref: settle down please
So do the players not carry a spare cue?
Elite players can only pay with their own cue. They can't get used to a replacement cue in a single match as it would react differently.
...And the winner is...O'Sullivan 😂😂😂😂
I like when cue ball flying
Porque sinuca não pode ser mulher contra homem tbm ? O jogo se baseia na habilidade e inteligência
0:10 is it possible
The only shot I enjoyed By Selby
"THANK YOU SETTLE DOWN PLEASE!" makes me angry :D
Thank you, settle down please!
Johneyyy Dawg i am overflowed with rage :D
Johneyyy Dawg i killed a baby :D
Johneyyy Dawg how do you want to sound angry with that smiley? :D
6:40 is great
makes me feel better sometimes
The best of the best, and they made THESE mistakes. It gives the other players hope.
These are not the bad shots... These are actually unique shots...
I just feel like.. Virgo loves ronnie more than anyone.. Just like his mentor or well wisher..
Remember if you catch the cue ball when it flies off the table you get to keep it!
why don't they have spare cues?
Number 1 is probably the best shot of the bunch imo
Snooker at 4am ?!?!
What the hell am I doing?
Its completely normal... U r addicted to it.. Just like me
Why don’t they keep an extra cue standing by next to their seat instead of having to waste time going into the dressing room for repair?
Where the cue ball going?
Pretty strange they don't have a spare cue stick on the tour
So it’s a foul as soon as the cue ball leaves the table as Ding’s shot was still moving after the referee called the foul
One would think that pro players would bring 2 or 3 cues just for such happenstances.
Now Woggies are playing snooker 👁👁🎲🙊🙊🙊.
1:12 A big dinosaur said "Foouuuuuul"
Happens to me most of the time trying to play a scew shot. I wonder how can someone hit hard while playing deep screw without miscueing.
Mohammed Assem Hussein their tips probably cost the same as your queuestick.
Jay lol, got it
Jay. Nah, there isn't any snooker tip that expensive
klieu90210 how much do you think a professional grade tip goes for? literally have no idea, but I doubt it's 3$ the 6 pack like the ones you get at wall mart.

How do you manage to jump a white over another ball my accident...I play snooker and that first shot was piss easy
Probably because of the amount of screw these pros try to put on the cue ball for the positioning. The pot itself was nothing, but striking with some power low down for backspin also carries the risk of chipping the cue ball if struck a bit too low.
5:55 😂
That last shot by Fu was not a kick, That's just pure failure at lining the shot up. The 6 P's we call them, Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
I meant more so from the commentators first saying, Was that a kick?
nice
Ding nice
0:50 ref said "foul" way too early. It could have hit corner jaws and returned to hit a red.
Jumping over balls is a foul in snooker, even if it hits a red after
lol the worst part I knew that. Snooker refs are so sharp always
Muhammad Ahmad it was because the cue ball flew in the air, not because it didnt hit any red.
06:49 true had that often
Debería estar la opción "me divierte"
มือระดับโลกยังมีสับโดดเลย...มือสมัคเล่นอย่างผม...มีหรือจะไม่สับขาหรอก...😁😁😁
Why don't they bring more than one cue to the game? Like tennis players with rackets.
Tennis racquet is serial item. But with cue it is different, every snooker cue is custom made and not the same
@@SnookerPlanet Ah I see thanks. I still find it hard (as a non snooker expert) to believe that they can't have and afford multiple cues, even if they're all expensive and custom made. the black, blue and and a red tithe right didn't move!
6:07 "shit"
behind Ronnie
Knowing that Ronnie O'Sullivan often makes lousy shots like sending the white ball to the pocket!
2:59 😂😂😂
i like snooker
Ooooohh and that's a bad miss
I get these results in all my shots......
